Hack begins to realize it did source from Sarashito, but he also does not believe she is lying about not knowing where it came from...
So, now one must choose where along the Imperium/Godhand skirmishes one must choose. The fight is less like a traditional war and more like a civil war, with pockets of powerful resistance surrounded on all sides by the might of the Imperium, with some exceptions.

lets go with the civil war

...Right, that's what I mean. The whole thing is like a civil war. The question is, where or how do you start in it?

The largest area of conflict is Habermas II, but the most currently intense conflict is Vega-23 IV.

Hack will again need to get into the Imperium. Will he take anyone along for this? Maybe Slash, an NPC he wants to pretend defected with him or an NPC escort that'll go back when they're done? (Note: I'm making it easier to get back in since you got in once.)

oh slash definitly comes with, i don't think hack would even get a choice in the matter, we'll have my divine aura people on standby just in case, and well taklinn will be "hunting" hack

Sounds like a good gimmick. No NPCs involved in busting through the Imperium?

Was it Brun or Daedrous who was involved in the Imperium? Might as well bring him along.

So no NPCS to add to the massacre? Perhaps some of the new folk, such as Dr. Og Kalintaro or HX-7?

They are all in Crashing Heavens and would be here to make your defection that much more poignant.

if they are "chasing" me and eventyally "catch" me and then I "kill" them then you can bring who ever the hell you want

At the moment, you're planning on immediate apparent defection rather than defecting when you get into fighting? The people you're going with have a desire to engage the Imperium as well.

oh well in that case were gonna go attack the war (oxymoronic perhaps) and then Hack will defect "Attacking" and "killing" those that follow him

The problem is that a) feigning death to that degree would be extremely difficult and b) the likelihood that Hack could take down Taklinn, Brunnengus, and an NPC (especially Og) is minimal.

which is why we have a little thing in this world called a sneak attack, I do have a fair amount of assassin training under my belt and I needn't battle them in open warfare and expect to win, that would be foolish at best

...Assassin strikes barely work on Brunnengus while he's in his three Grens. Taklinn is also super endurant. Hack is not even CLOSE to a good enough assassin to deal with a Lich with three doomsday weapons and necromantic legions at his disposal, a Paladin and either a cavewoman/dragon doctor or assassin robot. It's possible that he could with incredible preparation beat all three, but Itek would believe the much more likely hypothesis.

divide and conquer...nah would have to take planets of separation, okay don't kill them but abandon them in a crucial position where they're all depending on me and send a few hits from a reign of blades their way...that might work
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Aug 18, 2006 13:46:58 GMT -5
That could work. You may want to actually talk to each of them about it.

Post by Vincent Hack on Aug 18, 2006 14:30:23 GMT -5
well duh i'm gonna talk to them about it, may have the spirit of pain make an appearance (not against the guard members)

So who else were you planning on bringing along, to give me a complete list?

Post by Vincent Hack on Aug 19, 2006 12:02:14 GMT -5
Brun, Dr. Og, HK-7, Taklinn, X-Rog,

Does the comma mean that is complete? And X-Rog is a weaker NPC, one of Brunny's buddies (maybe Tier 3.8 or so).
Dr. Og Kalintaro says, "Me not like tricks. Me think we should just set a net trap and let her fall in!"
HX-7 nods mechanically. "A bait-and-switch of sorts."
X-Rog shrugs, his broad troglodyte shoulders making a bizarre shape. "Will I get to fight?"

|
|
Post by Vincent Hack on Aug 20, 2006 18:52:18 GMT -5
"it's gonna work something like that, but i need to get your help to put me in the bait position" to Dr. Og "pretty much" to Hk-7 "yes you will" to X-Rog
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Aug 25, 2006 0:47:53 GMT -5
Dr. Og shrugs. "Me not like this, but me will accompany you."
HK-7 says, "I will do as directed. What will be your signal that you are launching the plan?"
X-Rog nods. "Guile is not my style..." He seems oblivious that he just rhymed. He also seems oblivious that this could be construed as a refusal, as he is clearly going along with the plan.

to Dr. Og, "thank you" to HK-7 "i'll hit taklinn, with my scythe, when i draw out it be prepared, and pay attention to the enemies, they may do things that even they diddn't know they were capable of." to X-Rog "yet somehow i sense that you don't care"
