Ka bump, ka bump!
Five years ago...
Quinn was on a hike in the mountains. The air was fresh and the sky free of the lights of the city. It was late afternoon; in a few hours, it would be dusk. Suddenly, from above Quinn heard a sound of flapping, injured wings...

Quinn will follow the sound of injured wings or head in the direction he hears them in.
OOG: sorry I typed a lot more but apparently sent it before I finished typing.

No problem.
Quinn is already slightly late to returning to base camp with his dad, but the wings attract his attention. He walks over, then falls down a smallish ridge that he failed to see. The bump scratches his arm and hurts, but that becomes moot when he looks up and sees a white winged woman, decked out in a gorgeous purple breastplate and battle skirt, her downy feathers reminding Quinn of a snow owl. She wears heeled sandals, but upon closer inspection she is dripping blood and the wings are torn through.
And the blood is purple.

Quinn first stares while thinking What the fuck?!!
Quinn will then rush over to the woman and search for the places that are bleeding if there are more than the wings. Then we will try to make a bandage from something (his clothing if necessary) and seeing if the wings are broken or just bleeding
If the woman is still conscience I will ask her name, how she was injured and if there is anything she needs before moving her if it seems feasible.

There are more than just the wings. Oddly enough, the wings appear to be torn through by a bullet or other projectile, but the projectile seems more spherical, maybe like a cluster bomb, perfectly formed piece of fragmentation, etc. Except that the other signs of an explosion aren't on her body or anywhere near. Meanwhile, the other wounds seem to have been inflicted... By lion claws. Quinn finds that it is difficult to work on her, but he does the best he can. Part of it is the aura she creates. Around her, he feels a strange, melancholy mysticism, a quiet curiosity and wonder that is not entirely pleasant and yet not entirely repellent. He can almost hear the theme when Terra met Terrato playing in his head: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY4Lf3pYKPYShe is conscious, indeed panicking. Before her wounds are patched, she feverishly whispers, "No time... no time... She's coming..." But after her wounds are patched, she calms down. "My name is Minerva. I am an Esper. But..." Flashes of energy reverberate from her. As the life drains from her body, Quinn feels her body seem to harden, and his shadows become longer and longer. He has a vague image flash through his head. Panic. Fear. He sees from her eyes, looking down and watching purple blood run down her hand. He feels a lurch from a sudden loss of velocity, as if he, or she, had just finished charging. As he (or she) looks up, he sees blood-red fur, covered with purple ichor, splattered in teardrop shapes all over. And then he sees a face, undoubtedly once human, indeed beautiful, but now with the visage of a lioness. Quinn feels the strength of the claws within her rolling over him in waves, as if the first breaking strike was only a tiny part of the attack, as if the lioness' claws emanated sheer force even when fully impaled into Minerva. The image is gone as soon as it appears, but the gravity of the situation is made clear to Quinn. Yet Minerva seems to take a second to realize it, as if the flashes were not conscious. "There is... an ancient lab... right below us... Please... take me there... I need you to accept something..."

"sure" Quinn says not knowing what else to say or sure how to responded.
Quinn will pick her by her armpit and below the knees unless i believe she can walk in which case he will pull her arm over his shoulder and support most of her weight and begin looking for the entrance.

As he starts to lift her, he is suddenly faced with her massive size. She is easily twelve feet tall, but it was hard to tell before as she was hunched over. Somehow, nonetheless, Quinn manages to lift and lead her to a grassy area. Quinn then falls around ten feet, but the impact is cushioned and Quinn experiences no harm.
The area is dimly lit by the hole from above. It seems like the lab has pinprick holes to let in just enough light and air to see and breathe. The natural, reddish lighting of the dusky sun casts long shadows over tall, blue tubes, cords running across the ground, and so forth. Most of the tubes are broken, but one is still functioning, near the very end of the room.
Somehow, Quinn feels what Minerva feels: The woman who attacked her is on her trail, maybe a mile away and closing fast. He can almost feel the lion-woman's hot breath on the nape of his neck, and the murderous force of those claws is still fresh in Quinn's memory.
Minerva moves over to another apparatus while she hoarsely whispers, "Get in the tube... My life is ending, but perhaps a new one for you is beginning... This machinery will make you into a MagiTek Knight..."
Strangely, Quinn feels as if this set of events was something he chose and orchestrated. He can almost already feel the strength of his magic and sword skill, as if it just needed a catalyst to be brought out, a story to bring it to life.

I will get in the tube with my head downcast. I feel guilty for not being able to help Minerva, like I should do more but doesn't know what. hopefully I can prevent such an occurrence again.

The tube manages to close up around Quinn, filling with a thick liquid. Quinn can breathe through it somehow, but the feeling does take a bit to get used to. Yet compared to the weirdness, it may be pretty par for the course. Ancient gears grind as the machinery does it work. Faint lights dim: Apparently, there is some, very faint, artificial lightning, getting close to absolutely extinguished.
Minerva's blood drips over from the entrance to the vacuum cleaner-like machine above her. Quinn hears a loud whirring. He sees flashes of bluish light, streaks almost like sparks appearing and then disappearing. Minerva seems to become as stone, then crumbles, leaving behind a crystalline structure with a red pulsing glow inside of it.
The energy she emits crackles along the antiquated relay lines to the tube Quinn is in. Though it seems as if the energy might at any moment burst out and arc away into nothingness, the circuit is completed. There is a flash of light. Quinn feels his body become superhumanly strong, mystical energy pouring through him. It is a warm sensation.
It is at that moment that he sees a rock the size of a fist come down, breaking an already decrepit tube's just a bit more. Dust and smallish rocks join it. It seems the cave is being made to collapse.

Quinn will jump/run over to where the Minerva was and try to grab the Magicite/ her remains andn run to where he originally fell down here and try to scramble up the wall to get out of the lab.
I don't think I can beat that lioness if she shows up and I should try to find my Father before he starts worrying to much.
Quinn will try to cover the crystal so that the red glow doesn't attract attention.

Quinn manages to get out of the lab. In the distance, he can see flashes of red slamming into the ground. Each blow makes a massive earthquake, a force travelling through the Earth that goes through Quinn's bones. One of them seems to discharge directly into him, and he is thrown into the air. He looks below him, seeing the campsite below, then the whole ridge area, then a lake he is being tossed into at high speeds.

I will try to relax and stay calm so that when I reach the water I can quickly swim to shore and slip into the woods.

Quinn manages to get a hold of himself. The warmth coming from where he put Minerva helps in the process.
The water hits like a load of bricks, but it's still not as bad as the land. Quinn is nearly at the bottom of a lake that's easily seventy feet deep. He rises to the top quickly, his ears ringing from the depth change, but emerges near a shore. He gets there. Unfortunately, now he's wet, his supplies are wet, and it's about to get dark in the mountains.

I will strip out of my wet clothes (to a decent level) and try to salvage anything I can from my pack that might still be useful. I will then set out for base camp at the quickest pace without risking injury in the dark.

Unfortunately, you are now nude. Everything in the pack is generally fine, but you do have wet material sticking to your back. The clothes in the pack are wet, but one of your ponchos is made of plastic and thus will be fine. You dry it as quickly as you can.
As Quinn walks along, down below he sees a large box. It appears that it might contain supplies... [FN: RE 27 Mmc].

I will walk towards the box to check it out but I will make sure nothing else seems to be around.

Nothing appears to be around, though Quinn does hear the distant hoot of an owl beginning its nocturnal hunt. How does he check out the box? Upon inspection, it appears to be a wooden supply crate reading "USMC" on the side.
OOG: Notes for me.

I will open the crate and gather what I can.
OOG: USMC like United states marine core

When you begin to open the crate, the crate moves backwards then is snapped at your body by some manner of neck. It appears like a snail's neck. Quinn barely can respond.
OOG: Seems like it.

I will bring my arms up in front of my face and try to backpedal away.

You bring your arms up. You are glad that your body is tougher and more endurant, because as you backpedal the creature extends its neck out to match and throws you into a tree. The tree cracks a little into your back, and pine cones fall on your face.
Burrowing up from the ground, a snail-like creature appears. Its face has mammalian eyes, not the standard black snail eyes. In its mouth is the USMC box, apparently its lure.
Quinn has action. (He has all of the abilities on his normal sheet now for the sake of this battle).

Gouge its eyes with what? A stick, an item, his fingernails, just his fingers, etc.? And the snail creature is easily twelve feet high and fifteen feet long.

I meant with my fingers but I didn't know how tall it was at the time.but I guess I will slide around the tree and look for a stick or something to hit it with I will strike at its head since it has a shell everywhere else.

Quinn finds a large, sturdy oak branch, somewhat broken on one end. He successfully strikes the eye... but he does not gouge it, as the creature closes its lid, and the material is apparently much stronger than normal vitreous. Quinn continues to stab in concern and panic, and his later blows seem to be doing something to the creature, exposing wounds.
Minerva whispers to Quinn, "Be ready to perform Runic, it will launch an attack of heat stored from its shell then go back in!" The shell is glowing hot. The creature spews fire, but Quinn suspects that this is not the attack Minerva meant. Nonetheless, there's a cone of fire, about a hundred feet long and ten feet wide, arcing at Quinn...

I will jump to the side and cover my head with my arms and if I get burned and if anything ignites I will (since I am only wearing a poncho)catches fire I will 1.slap it out 2.cover it with dirt or 3.run to the lake and dive in. after such event I will quickly get to my feet.

Quinn manages to get into a slight divot in the land. That combined with him being wet already and wearing a poncho that is itself soaked, he manages to sink into the peat and not be noticed. The creature strikes a tree which temporarily ignites, but burns itself out when snow falls onto it. Quinn can now react, the creature must be vulnerable as it sweeps its head.
