Ogee manages to push past Vander's defenses, taking in some of his lifeforce. Unfortunately, his lifeforce is something predicated on terror and pain, and Ogee and Hack feel a synchronic backlash.
Ogee has a bit more turn.

hmm...ogee will now attempt to Rot Vander from the outside In

Ogee is markedly more successful in this department, creating a slowly damaging Death and Decay-style effect. Miraculously, the little guy can defend against the automatic counter-attack coming at him of those same cord weapons he used.

...Which direction? Up, down, to the side? Rolling or just straight? Use his blades to protect or go for a small ball? Dance along the wires? Etc.

Any particular trajectory: Giant leaping trajectory full of feints and flips, strafing dash, teleport, shadow slip...?

shadow slip seems to be the most sucessful

Vander's Spirit of Pain preemptively impales the rushing ninja with a massive prybar, turning the ninja's pain into crackling lightning that explodes outwards. Your other teammembers can each attempt to deal with this pain lightning. From the side, Krane and Gran smile a bit sadistically: It seems they just gained an idea.

Hack cannot communicate telepathically, and it just seems that the two had learned something, not that they'd actually do something. You still have to deal with the pain lightning released.

hmm perhaps a few defences are in order, what do I have that would be most effective

You're not wholly sure. The attack feeds off the empathic response of pain, suggesting a Psi base, and turns it into lightning, which might be electrokinetic or mystic.

Post by Vincent Hack on Jun 14, 2006 17:56:28 GMT -5
hmm, bring up Psi and Ki
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 14, 2006 18:15:25 GMT -5
...You mean a psi and ki defense, or an aura, or what? And remember it's not only Hack who's in danger, but Shi, the RSN, and Ogee.

then if it's pain he want's It's Ki ill use, Ki forced healing ogee is more likely to enjoy the pain than to suffer shi going to use the eva synchronisation to fed of Ki forced healing (if possible) rsn will do as hack does, or as close as he can come to it

So self-healing while you took damage, hoping it'll overwhelm the damage? Or will you attempt to heal the ninja and thus eliminate the pain?
This is damage. Not just pain.
Shi's response is contingent on what Hack is doing, ditto for the RSN.

Post by Vincent Hack on Jun 23, 2006 14:37:16 GMT -5
yes self healing hoping to heal faster than I am hurt, ditto for all

Hack manages to conjure up the energy in time... but unfortunately, the effect of the gas cloud continues to aggravate him, turning the healing into an explosive force that aggravates the harm. Shi absorbs only damage, compounding not solving the problem. Hack loses his next turn, but Shi and Ogee are fine. The RSN heals and does restore some of the rest as well.
The Spirit of Pain now moves in for the kill on Hack. It leaps in and aggravates the existing problem... but as it leaps in, Hack's will takes over. The spirit is dominated, and despite Vander's best attempts, the Spirit is now trapped in him.
Hack can now convince the SoP to join him and leave Vander.

hacks going to try to convince the SoP into joining him by showing him a few graphically violent memories, (of which there are many) specifically the ones that would make vander shutter, oh and let it experience Hack's hatred, which will be brought into play as soon as possible, as well as death
shi is now going to try to constrict vander ogee well he's gonna go for the neh-thalggu (epic D&D monster) method suck his brain out from a distance

Not many memories would make Vander shutter: He was one of Hack's primary tormentors. The death is appealing while the hate is not. The Spirit says, "You seem fundamentally good: What pain can I feed off of from you?"
A clarification: When I tell you that someone has not lost a turn, that doesn't mean they immediately go. At the moment, the fight is paused during the convincing phase.

"So you cause pain to those close to you?", the Spirit asks inquisitively.

not intentionally, but more frequently than I care to
the memories i was referng to were the ones of me acctually doing the tormenting, remember hack WAS quite evil in the immedate time after his escape
