So, Fred was knocking on Chris' door?

Knock knock knockin' on chris' do-o-or...
Right.
So there's no answer.

Fred has a dilemma. He can violate her privacy. He can snoop around. He can try again.
First order of business: Try again.
Second: Talk to someone and see if they know where Chris is. Become increasingly frantic as time goes on.
Finally, if all else fails: Optical Sphere time, baby. (Hey, I'm keeping my crew safe!)

You try again to no answer.
You look around for someone. This is the floor where most people because nobody is so antisocial that they dont' want to be on the same floor as everyone else when you all get your own rooms.
You find Lenny.
"Uh... Hey."

"Sorry to intrude. Have you seen Chris anywhere around?"

|
|
Post by KRoZ on Dec 15, 2005 15:28:49 GMT -5
You weren't so much intruding as "Finding Lenny standing idly in the hallway looking into nothing".
"Chris.... Chris... Chris is... who?"
You explain.
"Oh... I've been here all day. Haven't seen anybody like that."

"Oh." Try to find someone else. Also call the secretary and see if she was in, left a message on the whiteboard, anything else.

The secretary doesn't know anything regarding Chris, no notes have been posted. Nobody else is in the hallway, but there may be people in their rooms.

Do I have a contact # for her? If not, find someone in their rooms and ask.

You can look up the phone number to her room or call for it at the front desk.

Do so.

You call, it rings. It keeps ringing.
It rings about ten times.

Hang up. Now Fred is concerned. He closes his eyes and tries to find her Power Sense in the building or area around.

Her power is low, but with most of the big dogs out of the building you are able to get a fix on it.
She's in her room after all.

Well, it sounds like she wants to be left alone. Does she have an answering machine or something?
For today, I actually would like to play Cervega because of the Karanda mobilization, and either Taloquin or one of the people who I'm trying to get to QSI.

I wasn't meaning the switch off to be a daily thing. My brain doesn't work like that. Also, as I told justin, the Karanda isn't mobilizing for a bit.

That's fine, Cervega still needs to actually GET to the planet and such. Anyways: Through note, phone message, or something, Fred'll say, “Sorry for bothering you, Chris. I got pretty worried when I couldn't find you in the building. After what happened to Bob, when I see someone missing, I think the worst. If you need to talk, you know my phone number and my room. I left you some chocolate by your door.” Fred feels like a fly (not the insect, the action). Fred will take a circuitous path to the Tribal Village, taking it slowly, looking for something interesting.
(Fortune 8, BTW.)

Taking it slow? How slow? You remember how far that is from Arcadia yes?
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 18, 2005 18:23:41 GMT -5
What, a good 8 hours? I'm thinking my cruising speed of 256 mph, at some points accelerating to my 486 mph, using teleports on occasion to get past the really dreary stuff, sometimes slowing to as slow as 30 mph and flying low to check things out.
|
|
|
Post by KRoZ on Dec 19, 2005 3:20:34 GMT -5
Well I don't think a human being travelling 256 to be slow.
ANYWAY.
Travellin'. You pass over a caravan at one point. Nothing looks particularly out of the ordinary there but you can stop if you want to.

Sure, why not? Meeting people and making contacts are good both from personal AND business perspectives.

So, you float down to find a bunch of confused leather wearing guys wondering who this flying person is and why they floated down.
"...can I help you son?" says an older man leaning out of a truck.

"Possibly. I noticed your caravan and thought that meeting new people wouldn't be remiss. I was just taking a proverbial joy ride. My name's Fred. Yours?"

"Uhh... Marty." He scratches his head, confused by a flying guy showing up just to say hi.
You hock QSI and discuss some stuff briefly before taking off.
I believe your plan was to then cloak and fly back after going a mile off? Doing so you find them transporting computer equipment.
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 22, 2005 17:11:44 GMT -5
Yeah, and after I found them transporting computer equipment, I decided that nothing was awry that I saw, though I'll make an Optical Sphere and have it run around looking for anything... funny and spectral or some'in.

|
Post by KRoZ on Dec 22, 2005 17:49:35 GMT -5
You say the optic sphere senses evil?
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 22, 2005 20:06:51 GMT -5
Yes, as well as the ghostly, spectral, all spectrums of light, sound.
Optical Sphere: Creates an energy sphere for observation, sphere moves at 60 mph, Range 20, Detail 20, Hearing 30, sees in 360 degrees, sees the invisible/ethereal, presence sense, senses magic/evil/psionics/alignment/mystic concealment and cloaking, see aura/gauge attributes, phases through solid objects, simulates radar/molecular detection,

Well, the caravan is composed entirely of not nice people. Not to the point of jerks, but to the point of hardened criminals. They didn't seem quite so mean when you talked to them...

|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 23, 2005 2:14:03 GMT -5
Nasty. Do I have any idea what kind of crimes through Aura? And does the O. Sphere find something like blood, kidnapped prisoners, etc.? Might they have stolen the compys?

|
Post by KRoZ on Dec 24, 2005 16:46:34 GMT -5
No clues, just whatever you can deduce. Being bad men, they seem unlikely canidates to all be transporting computer equipment across the desert, unless of course they all signed up for the job as a means of transport or easy stealings. However, that doesn't explain why the caravan master reads just as badguy as the rest.
