For those seeking to take out real bad guys, fighting the Imperium, the empire of necromancy, intrigue, guile and Machiavellian positioning, can always be sieged.

umm can Dark Inferno attempt to Infiltrate

First of all, his infiltration skills are pretty minimal; second, his reputation sort of precedes him.

i was not refering to ninja sneaking, i was refering to intregue (which i am horribly weak at as a player) but then the reputation thing blew that out of the water

Infiltration to me includes impersonation, intrigue, etc. This doesn't mean there aren't options for infiltration even for DI.

mine i was hoping on a "college grant" in the subject of either necromancy or pyromancy

Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Sept 28, 2006 22:29:47 GMT -5
So that'd be the premise that you'd try to infiltrate them with? The problem is that the grant for research would need to be given to them and it'd only be done if they were sure they could monitor your progress...
Post by Vincent Hack on Oct 6, 2006 23:26:20 GMT -5
does that include monitering of the cult meetings, which are acctually kept small, for the same reason the president's cabinet is never in the same place all at once
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Oct 9, 2006 14:38:21 GMT -5
It might include on the spot inspections, yes. Random as well. And they would of course monitor your contacts, assuming they'd do it at all given that DI has become a CH member.

yeah that...hmm perhaps one of the cult could get inside
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Oct 11, 2006 5:08:38 GMT -5
That may be, but if it's a notorious or powerful member reputation will probably again proceed them and if not they may not have the juice.

so i have to find the sweet spot right in the middle

Most likely. Also means that you may have to wait to do this particular tactic if the current cultists that DI's resurrection brought (BTW, something that needs to go on in Char Refining) aren't up to snuff.

Depends on what we work out in that thread. Awards can also get new members.

that is true, okay that plan's out for now, perhaps a different approach, hmm, all out siege would be stupid without Hack's dreadnaught, and still stupid with, although that thing is pretty badass

Yes, assuming you were fighting their entire armada. But sudden guerilla-like attacks could be very successful, especially if you got support from allies.
Post by Vincent Hack on Oct 18, 2006 22:54:41 GMT -5
and undead, lots and lots of undead, hmm, perhaps a few allies, looks like hack's joining for Jihad reasons, and DIO, get a few DIO using allies
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Oct 19, 2006 3:50:38 GMT -5
So you mean NPCs? I meant getting actual full armada support from other political forces, or maybe hunting down some additional NPCs. However, Handyman is a huge DIO type, as is Krane.

bring them, and other political forces, DI is going raiding
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Oct 20, 2006 0:27:12 GMT -5
Thing is you actually have to TALK to the political forces if you want the direct siege option.

okay, which to start with, probably UEG

The UEG's position on the Imperium is clear: At the moment, there is an absolute ceasefire.

Mephiasu and Sandro will approach Dark Inferno, Mephiasu will speak first "Hello Inferno I heard you were planning an assult on the Imperium my friend over here and I would like to help you".

OOG: mephiasu and sandro are undead... very very undead
"oh its no trouble consider them as good as gone" mephiasu will say.

oh, well that definetly improves DI's relations with you two then

So now all three of you need to plan.
