OOG: I'd like a few of them to have attacked her already, so she knows that they're dangerous.

All right, but you assumed it was a hobo or meth addict, fair enough?

Relyet indeed sees some of those freaks from earlier walking outside. Being a little concerned about her safety, she packs up some gear, but for now the hospital seems relatively quiet. She has been hearing unsettling rumors about graveyards being upturned and mysterious sicknesses, though. If she wants to hide, the safest place to do so is in the morgue.
The news station, the radio station, the army base or the ancient Park Ranger's emergency broadcasting station might all work.

did the high school have it too? cause that is where I hacked first! I think it got destroyed tho... The old park ranger station sounds good to me far away from humans but close to ZOMBIE BEARS!

The high school doesn't have a powerful enough transmitter.
Unfortunately, getting to the Park Ranger station is a long hike first through city then through fairly dangerous terrain with you guys having limited supplies. But it is the most powerful transmitter after the army base.

It is about time you got back to this post!
"ok guys I think the only way to go is we head to the park ranger station."
"We can head on foot unless someone else has a better idea."

Quion nods. "Foot is fine, and the woods should be safe, but getting there..."
Sarashito says, "We have to! The government will kill us and all the survivors! And what if there's a cure?!"
Quion says, "Okay."
The old man says, "I'll hold things down here."

They nod and grab what few items, weapons and supplies they have, following you.

The three head out through the shelter. The top is a sealed and locked vault door which is masterfully camoflaged and concealed in a large garage. Outside, the concealed shack with a gravel road seems to be the former domicile of the old man. Funny, just a few days ago Mac may have called this guy a crazy hermit or a bizarre survivalist, but now he's a very helpful ally. The exits seem to be the gravel road and a winding path through the woods.
(Will Mac grab any of the guy's weapons before he leaves? Sarashito is using a katana and a shotgun. Quion is using a small flamethrower, a broadsword and a pistol.)

Do you remember what you had so far? You obviously have your paired katanas.

Dear Lord in HELL did you not have bankai. You had shikai. You also had a regular fire sword in the FASHION that Jezul made, but radically nerfed, and your cybernetic arms and leg. Had you picked up a gun?

No I had not picked a gun, I will go with a bolt action rifle and just a small pistol. I could shoot a dragon out of my swords like 3 time before.

One time and it knocked your ass out. Now you can do it and take about 90% of your energy. The guns are fine.
Which exit?

lets take the winding path, do we have a map or any idea where the place is? other than that way?

Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Mar 19, 2008 15:43:46 GMT -5
Not really. Quion and Sarashito know slightly more than you do but very little. You are on the wrong side, though, one of the outlying hills and not the main mountains.

would the old man have a map? it would be cool if he did!

You guys have an old Park Ranger's map on you that shows the general location, but it's not very high resolution and doesn't account for natural terrain shifts, weather conditions, etc. You roughly know how to get there, but it may be pretty difficult in practice.

|
|
Post by doomkitty on Mar 19, 2008 16:04:46 GMT -5
That will work, as long as we have a map to get there we should be ok! woot. start down the path and start enjoying the fresh air!

Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Mar 19, 2008 17:20:10 GMT -5
If by "fresh air" you mean "smoke, apocalyptic ash and green glow all of which have replaced the sun", then yes. Yes it is fresh.
As you move along, you hear the sound of leaves being brushed by... something.

stop moving and look around and see if anything is moving.
"did you guys hear something?"

Quion and Sarashito silently nod. The forest is somewhat denser past the first thirty feet, and the sound is quiet and hard to place.

Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Mar 21, 2008 22:57:36 GMT -5
With your cybernetic legs, you can jump around eight feet at a time. There are some sturdy branches, yes. You manage to get on one. Sarashito and Quion find some as well. Below, you see around six moving... skeletons. All wear backpacks, looking like the corpses of lost hikers. They wield weapons like shovels, climbing picks and axes. A faint hiss seems to come through their teeth.
