Tachi hammers the pads as his foreign partner holds firm and nods gauging him back as he goes. With each attack Kimbo adjusts not for his own convenience but for Tachi's as his strikes send the pads slipping around on Kimbo's hands.
His arms only flex slightly as each hit connects, the rest of him not budging an inch. A telling piece of evidence concerning his own immense strength. Attacks that many have found utterly devastating this man seems to find pleasant and invigorating.
"Cool, cool. You got it man" he comments as Tachi's turn continues.

Tachi smiles. "Good. I wanted to warm up". This was time... time to release the Volcano Punch. He reared back and said, "Sorry if I push you over or anything, I don't think I will though". He then releases it.

Proving true to its master the Volcano Punch works as a display of pure strength, its force sufficient to move the mountainous man.
However even when forced back the man moves like a cement wall. Slow and heavy and more dragging across the ground than staggering or losing his balance. All the same he is incredibly impressed.
"That's some crazy kinda force you got going there man! I feel that all through my arm, what kind of stuff they got you doin' in here?" he remarks.

Tachi says, "I learned this punch from a hermit in the mountains. We train a little differently at my high school. Wanna feel it again?"

"A hermit in the mountains man? that's crazy. That's some Rocky shit right there" he responds with admiration.
"Yeah sure, go ahead and throw it again".

Tachi smiles and says, "I love Rocky". He rears up, channeling his aggression and throwing the punch again.

Again Tachi throws his tremendous punch and again is met with the same amount of resistance. The mountainous man that he strikes against begrudgingly acknowledging the laws of energy in motion as he skids backwards with pads still up and in place.
"Yeah that's some good stuff. Let's switch and I'll show you a little something of mine" he responds goodheartedly.

Tachi nods and is glad to have gained the attention of a real martial artist, one who seems passionate about more than hurting people. "Let's do this", he says, getting the pads and getting prepared.

Pads are switched and Tachi prepares for the man's own turn. And what a turn in proves to be!
With immense force that nearly bowls Tachi over multiple times the guy hammers away at the pads. Each of his individual hits containing at least half of the power that can be found in his own Volcano Punch. This force being generated almost solely from muscle than much of anything in the way of technique.

Tachi smiles at the immense power. What a monster. I could learn a lot from his approach. "Awesome!"

OOG: Merry Christmas man.
IG: "That's how we do it back where I come from, all day every day. You or the guy who teaches you have any experience with boxing at all?" he responds and asks as pad time wraps up and people begin taking their places for the beginning of other drills.

OOG: You too!
IC: "Yes, my friend was trained under Muhammad Ali and we incorporate boxing as part of MMA".

"I tell you man, I'm gettin' into this MMA stuff with a boxing career as my foot in the door" the man tells Tachi as he places the pads aside. "People look at me like I'm crazy when I say that but it's not like a choke out and a knockout need to be so different you feel me?".
People begin setting up for their own next portions of the warm-up. As per usual they pair up for advanced stretching and conditioning drills or start in with warm-up sit ups and push ups.

Tachi nods. "I understand. I've gotten my foot in the door with my restaurant. Should we spar?"

"Yeah sure" the man nods walking off to grab his gloves. While he treats it as no big thing everyone in the room visibly tenses at Tachi's question. Though all do their best not to let on.
Once the two of you are gloved up the gym head and a couple others pause to watch as the two of you square off. Them and everyone else waiting with bated breath, though this is true for less than a moment or so, before Kimbo comes at Tachi with a few test jabs.

Tachi knows how dangerous those jabs can be. He spaces back and forth, waiting for a time that he can get Sticky Hands off then start to Multiattack (softly) the biceps, hoping that Kimbo will play along and reduce his use of the arms accordingly.

Tachi spaces himself as well as he can, the jabs grazing or missing but overall doing their job. It is not until the mans first real attack that Tachi has a chance to make a Sticky Hand attempt. An immense dark skinned fist comes thundering towards him!
What comes next is a first for Tachi. The instant his hand makes contact with the mans fist there is a ripple of force that forces the technique to release after its initial grab.
It is a different kind of sensation. Not so much that the man is slamming into Tachi's hand hard enough for him to let go so much as a large force is being distributed over his hand as a whole. What's worse is that he might be capable of making it hurt as well, and a lot more so.

Tachi nods. I have to shut down this bruiser for me to even get a chance to grapple. He attempts a Volcano Punch to the chest, again controlled for appropriate sparring level, to "kill the body" so to speak.

He ducks sideways in an attempt to go under and to the right of the punch while immediately throwing a right hook of his own. While he is quick he is not quick enough to avoid the entirety of the attack, Tachi's punch grazing his opponents left shoulder.

Tachi tries to use his spinning backhand to follow up and similarly move away from Kimbo's punch.

OOG: Backhand's gonna be a normal attack, follow-ups don't happen on grazes. Just so you know.
The backhand accomplishes both its goals getting Tachi out of the way of Kimbo's counter attack and manages to connect before he can raise his guard. However he is quick to launch an attack in return, this time going for a left uppercut given how close the two of you now are.

Tachi tries the upward chin kick, hoping to move his head out of the way of the uppercut while going for a powerful kick to the "button" (though as always he is holding back so as not to actually knock Kimbo unconscious, though he suspects Mr. Slice will likely be resistant in any instance).

Unable to get away from the strike quickly enough Tachi is tagged by the uppercut. While restrained the attack is certainly no love tap. It also succeeds in putting Tachi off balance preventing the kick.
While regaining his balance prevents a successful reaction he can still attempt to take his turn.

Tachi needs to turn this around. He wonders if he can get some internal damage going if he gets a grip. He goes for a savate sweep, hoping that Kimbo's legs are not as strong as his body so he can get a mount and try for pressure point damage.
|
|
|
Post by blacktothefuture on Jan 11, 2012 21:11:28 GMT -5
OOC: How would you do pressure point damage without having him in Sticky Hands?
IC: It is no small task on Tachi's part but he does manage to successfully sweep his opponent. Kimbo landing on one knee in front of him. Seemingly used to this kind of event he immediately attempts a shoot to cover himself.

OOG: Supposedly I can do pressure point damage from any hand-based grab, not just Sticky Hands, now that it's A.
IG: Tachi will attempt to Sticky Hands his charge.
|
|
|
Post by blacktothefuture on Jan 12, 2012 15:43:05 GMT -5
OOC: Through grabs? that makes sense.
IC: Due to the low to the ground nature of the attack establishing any kind of grab on his hands would be impossible. In this instance it is the techniques utility that wins the moment, Tachi's hands connecting and molding to the shape of Kimbo's broad shoulders.
He is stopped only for the most brief of moments. Any kind of counter attack must be swift and fluid.

OOG: Yeah, I still can't do em through strikes.
IG: Tachi will immediately go into a hammerfist-based Multiattack, similar to Ip Man, repeatedly striking his foe in the face (again, controlled for sparring).

At the moment that Tachi transitions from defense to offense his opponent does what was unimaginable until this moment. Taking advantage of the natural moment of pause before the official start of the attack to burst upward shoulder first.
Said burst interrupts the attack and forces Tachi back only slightly. However this burst also prevents him from naturally assuming Sticky Hands once more at the end of the exchange. An act that Tachi is certain he will never see outside such a bracket as this high level opponent belongs to.
With the pressure off Kimbo goes on the offensive once more. This time throwing a heavy (for sparring anyway) chest-level punch.

Tachi attempts to turn into the punch, meeting it with his own sparring-level Volcano Punch.
