OOG: No, the shot only just occurred as you guys began to walk out of the hall and towards the doorway to the quad area near the halls Avi's office is in.
Quinn drags Fred to a bathroom entrance. Blood streaks along the wall as he does so. Fred looks down and says, "....Wow, that... that's bad, huh? I.... I don't want to die..." The impact wound is just massive. It's like a softball sized chunk, and damage has been done to the kidneys and stomach. Fred is going to need massive help soon or he's going to die.

Black will aid Quinn in helping Fred out as best he can, at the same time he will create several ink clones. One to go into hiding nearby for substitution value, and two more to go their separate ways and try to possibly find out who it was that shot just now.
"Guess they've decided to move first eh?" Black will offer "Don't worry man...you'll be alright"

Fred's eyes start fluttering and his face is pale. "Yeah... yeah, you're probably right."
Black's clones split up. Suddenly, one explodes. The other clone temporarily sees a VERY small object on the clone, the size of a button. When the clone explodes, ink splatters over a target, unveiling it from thin air. It appears there's an invisible opponent. Suddenly, the ink disappears, as if splattered off by high velocity.
Suddenly, something tackles Brian from behind. It feels heavy, like two tons of bricks. It came from above and behind - apparently, something crawled on the wall downwards onto Brian. Brian feels claws and monstrous strength.
Everyone besides Black sees the back of a monstrous humanoid. It seems like it may once have BEEN human, but certainly not anymore. Straps of leather, chains, and barbs cover what appears to be black, mottled, pitted skin.
Black sees the front of the monster. Its hands are clawed and the straps and chains continue onto its legs and torso. Its face is like a twisted samurai mask, but alive, bending horribly, its eyes glowing faintly red in the shadow of the hallway.
Brian is brutally clawed and held down. His humonculus resistance seems to be being penetrated by the supernatural damage, but his conventional healing factor is well-trained enough that it seems to be working well. That means an opponent with supernatural strength and combat abilities. Then he hears a chainsaw rev up. Everyone else sees a one-handed chainsaw being lifted into the air, about to be shoved into Brian's neck. Brian has reaction.
The aura of fear being exuded is quite powerful, and the team is minus Fred's typical Thunderbird's Wings buff. [Functional Horror Factor of 80%]. Brian and Black are unaffected. Redfox, Mario and Joe are shaken, though Mario's training under Xenocratis halves the impact. Being afraid slows their initiative and makes them slower to get to maximum move and attack speed, as well as reducing the damage and efficacy of their attacks and defenses. Being already injured, Fred is more intimidated, distracting him and making his heart race.
Quinn is utterly terrified. The creature seems to grow an extra face out of its back, upside down, a long purple-red tongue lashing out while the creature growls, "You will fail! I will kill your best friend and rape your bloody corpse!" He loses the remainder of his action, but will rally next turn. (The face is an illusory effect and not actually there - no one else sees it).
Luckily, Fred's Zen Combat, Mario's Sharingan and Storm Tiger Eye, Black's combat instinct and Joe's psychic sensing mean that the team still gets turns despite being ambushed.
Redfox seems to look down for a second, arms becoming limp. His head nestles into his neck. At first, it seems like he might have been shot as well. But instead, two copies of him pop out of his back. One seems to have bear paws. The main one then pulls out a triple-bladed red-edged scythe with a chain attached and a flail with a skull at the end. The freakjob assaulting Brian [identified by Fred as a Corrupt known in the bounty hunter industry as "The Beast" because of its/his/hers attack pattern, horror-inspired powers and inexorability] doesn't even seem to notice the scythe and flail attacks. Soon, a torrent of blood has been drawn, which forms into a pentagram symbol around Redfox's body. Pulling his scythe backwards, Redfox deliberately twists his neck around! The Beast seems to gargle a little and start to turn its face towards Redfox, attracting its attention enough that if Brian gets away from the chainsaw attack he may turn his attacks onto Redfox. Anyone familiar with Naruto recognizes what Redfox is doing with the pentagram below him as Hidan's Jashin technique.
The second Redfox steps in front of Fred and Quinn. He smiles, "I... I got this... I think..." He stands in a Sumo stance. Quinn and Mario hear whirring sounds, as if something was drilling into the ground below. A healing link is established between Brian and Fred, massively increasing their regeneration, as well as the benefit of the Place of Benevolence (passive bonus to save vs. magic / protection circle style bonuses and passive HP and energy regen rate). Their regeneration and the healing power of the Caduceus is tied together, keeping them alive. Brian's healing factor, thanks to his training under Wolverine and Gluttony and with his intrinsic mutant and humonculus powers, is so massive that it can buoy Fred. The Place completely soothes the fear of everyone besides Quinn. Quinn manages to get back half of his turn. Redfox takes a defensive position, bear paws facing outwards under the hammer and the caduceus staff.
The third Redfox is using two claws, a yellow blade of energy being protected from an elegant hilt, and a blue blade of energy from the other hand. He accelerates rapidly, two psychic blades slashing across The Beast. The cuts seem to stay one moment, be gone the next, as if they were wounds on a bad slasher movie villain. Redfox joins Black in searching for the sniper and the new invisible enemy.
Black's real body has action, and the hidden clone if he wants it to throw something from a hidden position. Everyone else has action. Quinn has a delayed half-action.

Cure restores some hit points, effectively giving Fred back some blood and making the wound somewhat smaller, but the wound still remains quite large. Being even a little smaller, of course, means that it is much easier for the enhanced healing factor to pull him together.
When Quinn heals Fred, he notices that his heal seems to be about 20% more effective. It appears that the team has a Moxa Stick blessing them. The Place further increases that by another 5%, raising the total bonus to 26%. And when the healing energy pumps into Fred, Quinn sees a resonance from inside Fred's body, a white wave that seems to match Quinn's contribution, for a grand total of 189%. The wound which was originally the size of a large grapefruit or very big softball has now shrunk to the size of a baseball.

Black himself will start laying down some ink (or paint if it will work in combination with beast imitation) in hopes of splattering the invisible enemy again. His plan being that IF he hits the invisible enemy his clone can attack immediately after, getting it with a blast of mortal flame before it can shake the ink off.

Setting his ink to a wide dispersal, Black manages to get a spray onto the invisible opponent. The clone immediately rockets outwards, punching the target and igniting it. Oddly enough, though, the thing that's being ignited doesn't seem to be a humanoid outline, but something more spherical. It's a distinctive sign of a barrier.
Something slashes the ink clone in half immediately thereafter. Warp blade slashes fill the air, and each carries with it a deadly payload: Micro-mines being thrown out, tossed malevolently. One strikes Redfox. When it detonates, muscle and skin are peeled back, revealing cybernetics underneath. Explosion damage harms everyone. Another mine sticks to Brian's head, detonating and grinding his head into the ground. A third sticks to Mario, exploding on his torso, his elemencium limbs sharply mitigating the damage. A hide of scars can be seen in the aftermath of the explosion, hugging Mario's body, shielding him from harm. A fourth sticks to Joe's newly massive body. The explosion seems to be absorbed by an electromagnetic shield. Another three are repelled by Redfox's Nikyu Nikyu no Mi.
Luckily, the invisible enemy is still in the middle of the quad area behind Avi's office, on fire.
Mario, Joe, and Brian still have actions.

Even with the Dragon's Tooth Necklace, his Eyes of Eylor, his multiple vision types, and his psychic perceptions, the image in front of him is blurry at best. Nonetheless, before Black lights it on fire, he sees a dark-skinned, tall humanoid with an angular, somewhat elliptical head: www.freewebs.com/4gate/artwork_dark_templar_image_full.jpg . All of the pets get immediate action - Joe's status as a pet master means he does not suffer from summoning sickness. On the mentalic plane, Joe feels his siphoning funnel repelled by mentalic guards. They're complex and chaotic, random psionic walls against his assault. But he soon finds an opening and presses through it, successfully Mind Draining the foe. Immediately, Joe sees that the invisibility from his perspective has declined, but the enemy remains just as invisible to the rest of the team. Joe also has a feel for the opponent's specialties. The move he used to get clear from Black's first ink clone was a version of Shukuchi, allowing him to become invisible rapidly, do damage to targets he strikes and massively increase his movement speed. He appears to be a combination demolitions expert, psychic and invisibility expert. He knows that the Mind Drain has effected his speed and coordination, which will make it easier for others to attack him, as well as weakening his invisibility and his psychic powers and resistance. Suddenly, coming from a building above, a tall, angular woman wearing a trenchcoat can be seen. Joe can immediately tell that she's on their side based on her connected Mindlink with him. Suddenly, guns in her hands seem to rocket up and move out of their own volition. The artistry of her motions is impressive: She fires single shots at apparently random locations, but Joe can tell that she is using Gun Kata, statistically eliminating possible tactical locations until she can find a weakness. She soon fires a full barrage of micro-shotgun slugs. Her mind is clear and efficiently operating, apparently some kind of battle trance. Meanwhile, a white-colored puppet with insignia of red crosses and red crescents fires a reddish beam in spurts towards the team, beginning with Fred then moving onto Quinn and Black then onto Brian. They feel healing, and everyone (particularly Quinn and Black) find that they actually have more hit points than before, giving them a bonus HP buffer! While the medgun fires, the puppet aims a weapon. An almost imperceptible laser connects with the invisibility specialist, covered from the invisible enemy's perceptions by the barrage of shotgun slugs. It doesn't seem to do anything initially. A second puppet, lanky, tall and thin, wielding a sniper rifle easily ten feet in length, fires missiles and artillery-grade rounds at the invisibility specialist. After a few rounds, the shield that Black saw when he ignited the invisibility specialist seems to go down. But soon another, larger shield gets projected, this one apparently an artificial one rather than the natural Protoss warp shield. Suddenly, the fire has disappeared and the opponent is gone once again. The ink sluffs onto the ground, still capable of being used with Beast Imitation. Everyone begins to... "see" in their mind's eye a HUD display. Apparently one of the effects of the medical puppet's laser was to plant a micro-tracker onto the invisibility specialist. The invisibility specialist is good enough to cloud the readings and make them intermittent and inaccurate, but the tracker still sends enough data to give an idea of where he is. He's on the far side of the quad area the battle is taking place in, on the left side from the team, using a middle-sized grove of trees for cover. Suddenly, a shimmering field appears in mid-air. The team gets the indication from the new girl that this is a path in the air of the corkscrew pattern made by the rifle. A spiral-shaped pattern smashes back along the path, as well as a shot from the sniper puppet. Information given to the team indicates that after these first shots, the railgun sniper seems to roll to the side and... disappear? She can only be seen on thermal imaging, and even that only with a lot of dummying. A swarm of bugs blanket the area and make sure to monitor the motion of the invisibility expert. Some bugs swarm around Fred and help sew his body together and give a mild natural sedative, while others fill Brian to the brim with regenerative chemicals and steroids so that he can fight his Beast opponent. Other bugs fire large, tusk-like appendages into the Beast. The Beast shrugs all the blows off easily, an inexorable juggernaut, but the additional firing damage seems to be building up to a critical threshold of some sort. The girl telepathically projects, <I'm Arexa! The Beast below seems to have a lot of training in the manner of horror and monster movies.> Mario's Sharingan / Storm Tiger Eye and Fred's Rinnegan support this conclusion. <In order to harm it, we have to build up to critical mass to override not only its armor thresholds, its skill at deflecting damage, its innate blocking, its resistances and its mass of stamina and endurance but also do damage of the variety that it is implausible, narratively speaking, that it could survive.> Finally, micro-hand-seals being performed rapidly by the new girls' hands allow her to perform, "Katon: Gōkakyu no Jutsu!". A fireball the size of a beach ball strikes the Beast, again doing only minimal damage at best. Mario can see that she has only moderate skill as a ninja and almost no skill with elemental chakra, but her native intelligence seems to get her by well enough to at least be able to perform the jutsu. It is certainly adding to the damage threshold. Mario and Brian.

(OOG: There's enemies to attack. At the moment, I imagine that Marshall at the very least knows that his friends need him and he can get the drop on some of them. Review the Re-Starting thread, I'll send you an update PM. I'll also post a converted version of your sheet to the new system we are using.)
(EDIT: Sheet posted and PM sent. Mario has asked me to post the result of his action.)
Mario moves immediately into action. He concentrates, closing his eyes, while simultaneously moving his hands at high speeds. Blood transfuses into Fred, restoring some of the tone to his face and hands. Healing hands and what appears to be psychic surgery binds together skin and forces the wound to heal. The healing is enhanced by the same effects that enhanced Quinn's healing. Then Mario opens his eyes suddenly. Fred's wounds seem to be... rejected from reality, sealing up fully. Fred breathes in and out - the ordeal was tiring. But the wound is no longer affecting him, and next turn he'll be back in action.
Chocolate, Mario's healthy yellow Chocobo, emits a, "Kwwweeeeh!" sound. Everyone feels the damage from the explosions fade.
Josie heals Redfox's Jashin Body's broken neck, allowing him to turn it back to face The Beast head on. She then leaps to Brian's legs, evading a backhand from The Beast, healing Brian of the crushing damage The Beast is inflicting.
Joe's pets and Brian's reaction / turn.

"A Mistress of the Gun kata! I am none the less impressed!" Shouts Joseph, Glad to see their company expanding. "As for you,Xeno Imperfection!, get Ready!" Joe turns to the Dark templar, anticipating the next dodge direction, and with a roar fires a Warp Bolt at the Protoss.
Tigger will try to flank the Dark templar, biting it's leg ferociously, trying to rip out the tendons the same way it would do to it's prey in the wild. Mr.Skittles, howling in Joy, will use Yin wave on the beast
If the battle Area permits it being there, the Savior will hammer the beast with round after round of Acid Cannon.
Igor will Gargle Gurgle in eagerness as he tries to bind the dark templar in Meat Hooks, sinking into his flesh and hopefully rendering him immobile.
The Hawks will swarm the Dark templar, shredding him with their diamond talons.
The chest amalgamate with extend a tentacle in order to grab the templar and further bind him.
The snake will spit venom in the dark templar's eyes
Ol' One eye will charge the Beast, Roaring in delightful service to his master, and begin crushing the beasts arms with his Gigant Crab Claw like appendages.
The Zanoni Broodlord, first amongst the new hive fleet, will Join his cousin, One eye and will claw the hell out of Beast, flanking it while one eye takes aggro.

Remember, Joe had already acted with the Mind Drain. But, thanks to his new cosmic focus, he can depending on the power initiate a few psychic powers per turn. Joe attempts to monitor and find the Dark Templar amidst the cover, firing only when he thinks he has a shot. Suddenly, the Templar steps a direction to get better cover. Joe takes the shot. Psychic energy amasses, and a bolt of the Warp seems to blur reality as it hammers into the barrier of the Templar.
Yin Wave seems to scarcely phase the creature. The negative ki orientation is not as effective against a monster like this, and in general abilities that do subtle damage don't seem as useful against him.
From above, the Savior attempts to hammer The Beast with shot after shot. The proximity to Brian and the others, the narrow hallway, and so forth hamper its ability to get a clean hit. Lashing out at Mario's entourage, The Beast uses a leather strap to grab Mario then his Supernatural Strength to hurl Mario. The Beast is surprised to find his strap melt right after he hurls Mario, but the light weight of Mario's limbs makes it easy for him to use Mario as a human shield. He hurls Mario into the air, Mario taking all eight shots of the Bio-Titan. Luckily, most of the shots hit extremities, but Mario nonetheless takes a few main-body shots and is hurled face first into the ground by the sheer power of the acid shots. Their railgun-like velocity does damage even through Mario's Hide of Scars, supernatural-equivalent endurance for purposes of HP, and elemental shielding.
Igor tosses hook after hook, but finds that it cannot strike the Templar. Worse, the hook blades dig into a tree with an unexpectedly strong core, leaving Igor vulnerable. Apparently, the sniper takes advantage of this opportunity. A burst of electricity strikes Igor along the hook, shocking it badly and throwing electricity to everyone around him as well, harming them.
The Chest Amalgamate cannot reach the Dark Templar, so it holds action to protect allies.
The snake attempts a venom shot, but does not get an opening. In any respect, the barrier will make that attack pointless. It also holds action for a better shot.
Old One Eye slams crab claws into The Beast. Its monstrous strength and prototypical Carnifex arms seem to be the first thing that does actual damage to The Beast, two monsters fighting each other.
The Broodlord leaps around to the front. The two creatures pincer the Beast, and if Brian is able to get away from it, he'll only have taken the crushing, clawing and some of the chainsaw damage, with the Beast being forced to focus on the creatures.
[We'll wait a bit more for Brian due to his illness as well as give Mario and Marshall a chance to catch up. Next post should be coming soon.]

Upon discovering the battle, I'm going to say "On Brightest Day, On Blackest Night, No evil shall escape my sight, Let Those who worship evil's might Beware my Power... Green Lantern's Light!" Then light up my ring, go into costume, and use my ring to make a hammer and smash the beast.

A new figure appears coming from the right of everyone in the hallway. The figure begins to emit green light, the familiar sign of a Green Lantern, and becomes protected by a passive spherical barrier, a sign of great skill at manipulating the energy to form barriers.
OOG: What size of hammer? Bear in mind that The Beast is being flanked by two allies and is on top of one more, so you might unwittingly injure them if you use a giant clown hammer, not to mention nearby buildings. And how will you smash The Beast? Directly from above, hitting him in the top of the head, baby-execution-style? From above, swinging down like a pendulum, hitting him in the face? From below, smashing him in the chin? From in front of him, hitting him in the torso or face? From REALLY far below, smashing him in the groin or legs? Or maybe smashing his ankles or feet?

Smaller hammer, and on his head, so to avoid hitting any allies.

A hammer perfectly sized to smash The Beast's head fits between the Broodlord and Ol' One Eye above it. The hit smashes into the leather and chains wrapped around his horrifying visage. A little blood courses down The Beast's eyes.
More importantly, the Green Lantern's Light shining through the battlefield seems to cut through the aura of shadow and fear that The Beast generates, not to mention help cast light onto the arena to find their enemies. The hammer seems to smash through The Beast's power, reducing it in addition to the physical damage inflicted.
The Beast momentarily turns his glowing eyes and twisted face to Kevin, smiling with razor-sharp teeth through the attack. Whatever monstrosities his friends have attracted are beyond the norm...

I'm going to expel as much light as I can to light the whole area then say. "Oh my ugly." Reform the hammer into a hand grab the beast by the head, smash him into the ground, then drag him by his face into another wall.

"I've been away for awhile. Sorry, I wanted a zen trip. But I felt I needed to come back early." The voice seemingly comes out of nowhere. Then, close to where Mario and the others are battling, a flash of light, a little smoke, and Marshall teleports into the middle of the fight. "Well this isn't looking good. How strong is this monster?" he asks mid-jump at the beast, striking at it with his dark dragon sword using his Hyabusa super slash.

Kevin luckily has extra action to do so. But as he grabs the Beast by the head, he finds that his pulling force only at first moves The Beast around, then quickly stops. The Beast is channeling more of its power. The Beast chatters its teeth ominously, as it hisses out, "Bete Noire: 100%." Marshall at this moment strikes with the Dark Dragon Sword, making a massive cut into its body that the creature does not seem to sluff off with its various mitigations.
The Broodlord and Ol' One Eye find The Beast growing bigger than both of them, violently throwing them off passively. Its Horror Factor increases to 110%, and everyone with power sensing can feel that its power has easily tripled. It seems that it has released an internal seal. The area has become ink black, very difficult to see through, a mystic and soupy darkness. Anyone afraid of the dark will have a little trouble here. Phantoms of nightmares appear in the fog.
The Beast physically transforms. Its fangs and jaw become more horrifying. Metal spikes grow from it, and some of its straps loosen. Sixteen tentacles erupt from its chest, and eight spider legs emerge from around its leg. It grows an extra arm that is a spitting image of a shark. Its monstrous shape switches, and recalls both Freddy and The Thing. The shadows of nightmares seem to coalesce around it, causing his shape to seem to constantly change shape mercurially.
The shadowy walls that erupt throws everyone back, away from The Beast. Ol' One Eye slams into Arexa's group, knocking them down, while the Broodlord rolls through the crowded hallways. Everyone takes damage from the erupting wall of darkness, which feels physical AND spiritual. Igor, from his chain, gets thrown into the yard viciously, taking severe damage. Josie is damaged badly. Marshall manages to block and roll away, but doing so pushes him into a blade, cutting through his mildly armored ninja clothes and into his back, and then into a wall. Marshall knows that he is near an enemy who is a master of invisibility and swordsmanship.
Kevin, with his Green Lantern's light, can see about thirty feet through, but without the line of sight he's not sure if he's actually getting the Beast anymore. He has no more action this round. The Savior can't see through the thick blackness into the fight to be able to target, and doesn't quite know where to land. And it seems that the blackness has slowed down the incoming rate of police and possible reinforcements. It has also become very difficult to see The Beast, the Dark Templar or to track the sniper.

Landing with one foot and one knee on the ground, Marshall feels his back where the cut is. "Not too bad. Should staunch the bleeding." Pulling out a pocket size scroll from a pouch on his belt, he unfurls it, slits his finger on his front right canine, and draws a minor symbol, activating the pre-written scroll. The blood on his back stops flowing and congeals over the wound, forming a bond with the skin to prevent the wound reopening from activity, and protecting the wound by forming a hardened scale. Then using his teleport ability, he begins disappearing and reappearing in various locations, trying to detect the invisible opponent.

The minor healing scroll Marshall had managed to pre-prepare seals the wound, but Marshall knows that the strike was worse than it initially seemed. The weapon must not be of this world.
Marshall teleports rapidly, ruling out numerous locations for his opponent, assuming his opponent isn't moving. Though he doesn't find his opponent through teleportation alone, he does find his opponent when a second blow connects with his arm. His blood sprays over the nearby trees, but his training with Ryu has given him a buffer of hit points that allows him to ignore such wounds, and the Place of Benevolence is still helping him. Marshall instinctively strikes back, slashing with his Dark Dragon Sword, absorbing some vitality when he slashes at the barrier his foe is projecting. The simultaneous strike unfortunately throws him away from the target, and soon he's lost again. It appears that simply teleporting around is very unlikely to get him close enough to perceive the enemy alone...
[If Marshall wants to initiate his two Phantom Doubles, he may do so now, otherwise he's out of turn.]

Mario doesn't think his movements are purely instinct. He grabs the top of his head in his hands as he shouts "Bankai!" Mario then rips his flesh off by yanking the scalp to reveal a shimmering metal skeleton, colors appearing to move all over the surface. Rising from the earth behind him is a towering 25 foot golem made of the same material.
Mario is waiting for Redfox to make his move so that they can do there plan.

OOG: It appears that Brian is too sick to participate for a bit. Luckily for him, I have a way to let his character act without screwing him too badly.
Brian being pinned seems to cause him to go deep into a berserker, barbarian rage. His face becomes flushed and his body's muscles grow to Olympic weightlifter size. He begins to spin rapidly, grinding against the chainsaw, his honed battle instincts giving him that knowledge. Meanwhile, his fingers fan outwards, then grow into incredibly long claws, easily five feet. They jut out from under The Beast, and as he spins, he grinds open a hole. Slashing The Beast hundreds of times, the natural leather and plate armor is ripped off and muscle underneath it is exposed. The chainsaw rips through his neck badly, but the healing coming from all directions (Josie, Redfox, Hakushi the puppet, etc.) Soon, Brian digs a deep enough hole to speed away underground, getting away from The Beast. As The Beast transforms, he gets up and shoves his claws into The Beast's back as well as a katana, much like Wolverine, up close and intimate. The Beast is so tough that he's forced to shrink his claws and push forward that way. His mouth bites at The Beast. Each biting rip of the plate armor makes sizzling acid and searing poison, but Brian ignores it, his regeneration and his power of Gluttony protecting him. He also claws with his feet, much like a wolverine. The holes in his neck and body seem to split into two, growing into hydra heads, which spit flame and acrid poison at The Beast.
The shimmering golem that is conjured in the yard produces faint light. Soon, though, that light grows, and becomes a vibrating circle in a sine wave pattern around it. The sound of rushing water, roaring flame, a great typhoon and rumbling earth can be heard. A similar wave, though scaled downwards to be smaller in size, appears around Mario.
The next round begins.
Roaring in the area that includes the Broodlord, Josie, Chocolate, Mario, Fred, the Redfox in the Hidan stance, the Redfox protecting the group, the snake, Mr. Skittles, Brian and Quinn is a psychic, crackling storm. The psychic storm is in the style of the High Templar, meaning it ignores armor and many defenses and simply whittles at hit points and barriers at tremendous rates. Brian is especially injured, due to the fact that this storm can harm him through his humonculus resistances and his low Psi affinity. Kevin, Marshall, many of Joe's pets, Black, the Redfox charging out into the open, and a few others are all right. Black's hidden clone manages to avoid it and hide in the shadows, ready for a surprise attack at any time. The damage done to Redfox appears on The Beast. Redfox repels much of the damage away from the weaker allies so that no one dies and his healing can keep the team alive.
Soon, Mario and Fred can detect two more Beasts through power sensing, though they quickly fade into the darkness. He can swear he didn't see The Beast do anything that would cause him to split or even make illusory clones.
Rushing past Marshall, a vibrating... form seems to pass him by. His ninja training and speed lets Marshall perceive that this is an incredibly fast projection. It doesn't have the barrier the invisibility specialist did, meaning it must be a speed clone. The thing charges up to Kevin and slashes past him, the warp blade making a mark in the Green Lantern barrier like clay being cut through. Kevin can strike him on his turn, which is coming up.
Similarly, rushing past the team in the hallway (the same people harmed by the Psi-Storm), a similar speed clone passes by. Mario can recognize it as Shukuchi, and though initially the speed is too great for even his amazing movement techniques, he knows that it'll slow down soon to a vastly inferior speed. Mario gets a great insight into how his Shukuchi operates as it passes by. As noted before, it is like Anub'seran's from DotA: A vast increase in speed, invisibility and damage, but very temporary and with a cooldown. Mario feels that he can soon emulate his Shukuchi.
As it passes by, the team feels blue circles pop on their backs, the energy of the high velocity vibrating their molecules to produce damage. Further, they feel sneak attacks striking them in the back. The clone passes quickly enough through the Psi-Storm to take no damage, appearing behind them, ready to attack in case they move forward to strike The Beast.
The sniper apparently fires numerous Covenant Needler rounds, as the team sees them flying at them. Arexa blocks them with a smart barrier, and Kevin similarly automatically parries them with his barrier. Many miss, and those that don't are blocked by Redfox's Nikyu Nikyu no Mi into The Beast.
What is much more effective, however, and what the Needler covers, are the two shots afterwards. First, a round smashes into Mario's shoulder. Being elemencium, he's very hard to hurt, so the round doesn't get in very far. But a sonic reverberation coming from Mario afterwards fills the air with deafening vibration and sonic damage. Mario instinctively keeps it from killing Josie, but Chocolate is badly hurt.
Another shot pierces into Joe. Acting as a monopole, it magnetizes the Broodlord BACK into Joe, as well as Ivan in mid-air so it has a harder time acting, the snake onto Joe, Mr. Skittles into Joe, and the hawks towards Joe so they have a harder time flying. The Bio-Titan is being pulled downwards, making it even hard to target. Joe is badly hurt.
The Beast itself cannot act due to the exertion of conjuring Bete Noire, but his body certainly can. Tentacles lash out at Marshall, smashing the ground and throwing rocks everywhere; he can respond. A lashing, biting eel lashes at the Redfox charging out, who barely dodges, the teeth and electric energy nicking him. Another tentacle smashes Fred's weakened abdomen, but Fred's titanium-strength skin repels it. Three tentacles whip out at Kevin; he can respond. And a swarm of them seem to strike everyone in a flurry, but the damage is so minimal, it is as if the sources of THESE tentacles are somehow fake or weak.
Mario sees Xajnus appear behind him. "You couldn't save me from myself!", he says accusingly in his British accent. "Why did you fail me?!" The familiar damage of the Platinum Guns rains on him until he performs his action, which dispels it.
Kevin sees Guy Gardner appear, laughing. "You're a failure to the Corps!", he taunts, as he shoves a massive green drill forward at him. He can respond to that as well.
Marshall can swear he sees the corpses of Ryu, Jeff, Robert and Irene, slain by The Beast. He manages to ignore the illusion and keep his head about him.
Finally, the team's actions.
Fred stands slowly, his hand scraping at tile and breaking it as he stands. "Darkness is just the absence of light, nightmares just the absence of positive energy. Guess I'll have to toss in some of my own!" His leg spins rapidly, igniting into white-hot flame.
Simultaneously, the Redfox that has been so aptly deflecting all the attacks switches his hammer out for two blades. Suddenly, projecting from both hands, two extra psychic sickles form, making a pincer with the Dual Blade he is wielding. He wields his Caduceus in the teeth. He uses True Python, driving Joe and Mario's rounds out and making a magneto-sonic blast back at the source of the attack. This time, it is effective, and Mario can tell that the sniper was knocked out by the tremendous force before he could escape. An automatic teleporter that the sniper had set to a "deadman's" switch was deactivated by the magnetism. The magnetic rush also weakens the invisibility specialist's barrier. The two bullets rip through The Beast, doing massive damage.
Meanwhile, Dual Blade makes everyone's courage and power resonate. Faint outlines can be seen around the invisibility specialist and... three Beasts? With the Spyglasses of True Sight, Mario can tell that two of the Beasts are fakes, Hallucinations created by High Templar-style psionics.
Mario emits Omniwave, as does the Golem. His past work with Redfox pays off. Elemental energy formed into waves crash together, manipulated together by Redfox and Mario. The Omniwave bounces off the speed clone behind the group, then the fake Xajnus, then the speed clone behind Kevin, then the real Beast, then the two Hallucinations of the Beasts, the invisibility specialist, and finally the fake Guy Gardner. Gaining power from each bounce, the fake Xajnus and both speed clones are dispelled, the fake Guy Gardner damaged, and The Beast harmed.
Even better, the Omniwave makes traces that can be followed. The invisibility specialist is now making a gleaming light path behind him that can be traced.
Chocolate's Choco Heal heals everyone, particularly Josie, Joe, Mario, and Marshall. Even better, the Choco Heal bounces off of the Caduceus, Dual Blade and the Golem, making an effective 567% off the normal Choco Heal!
Fred bellows, "Diable Jambe du Flambe Prismatique!" Flying forward, he smashes into The Beast. The Beast is ignited, the incredible thermal mass created by the leg causing the Prismatic Flame to be able to burn his skin. Twenty foot wings of thunder amplified by white cosmic chaos energy appear, smashing into The Beast and harming him, propelling Fred forward at tremendous speeds, easily Mach 2. The Beast tries to shut it down by moving forward, but that only causes Fred with his intense flight speed to spin around like a ballerina, smashing him in the back and speeding off. When he spins around, not only does he get a second roundhouse kick strike, but he attempts to smash his hand into The Beast's back. Mario recognizes this as Steal Ability, similar to Tactics Advance. Mario recognizes that he is stealing The Beast's ability to track by blood scent, but Mario can't directly replicate it with his Sharingan. Joe, however, can, and telepathically learns how to himself. Finally, Fred flies forward and smashes into the Dark Templar, igniting his barrier.
Leaping from his back, the Impaler stabs into The Beast. It absorbs his "soul" successfully, but this simply means absorbing the Bete Noire energy, depowering the Corrupt.
Everyone is healed by Cure 2 from Solfeather, Fred's gryphon.
Hellfire slams into the depowered Beast from Fred's dog, Otto. The punishing hellfire damages The Beast badly.
Zibi rushes past The Beast at high speeds, hamstringing him.
Coming from inside Fred, holy energy forms a hammer of white light. The Beast is stunned.
The blood that erupted from Fred automatically is used to summon an orca. The orca forms a cube around the invisibility specialist, trapping him in water where he can be tracked and biting at him. Marshall can now take advantage of him being open to attack.
Mario has more action, as does his golem and Josie. Everyone else can act fully. Brian and Arexa will act after a few others act. Kevin can act after reactions to the tentacles and drills, as can Marshall after reaction to the tentacle smash.

I'm going to form a Buzz Saw in my left hand and a Shield in my right. I'll use the Saw to cut the tentacles and the shield to parry the drill as I fly towards Gardener wearing a huge smile.

The tentacles are quite strong, so the buzzsaw functions less to actually cut through them as to slash them badly and to push them to the side before they can do damage. The shield warps away quickly as the drill of like material smashes through it, dynamic speed beating out static solidity, but the shield lets Kevin pass by the side of Gardner, narrowly avoiding him adjusting the drill to match, and attempt to strike him. Luckily, by the time he's about to attack, Gardner poofs out of existence, the Bete Noire no longer keeping him around. Similarly, the fake corpses of Marshall's trainers disappear. Kevin can attack a new target.
It is important to note that, at the moment, The Beast is stunned, on fire being burnt alive by white flames that can use magic to release the energy contained in any chemical bonds, locked with Redfox in a dark ritual, and detransformed out of his exhausting, high power transformation. Fred, meanwhile, has seemed to pick up amazing localized speed within a small sphere around him.
Also, when the water struck the invisibility specialist, the fire that his barrier had been lit on was snuffed out, but not before igniting the water, raising its temperature to uncomfortable levels (though not for the orca) AND creating a wall of steam that warped and crushed his barrier to non-functioning status. He is open completely to Marshall's attack.

OOG: Ah man, I wanted to deck Gardener. Ah well. I'm going to dash over to the beast and say "Got to remember Green Lantern Rule #1 Felon Lethal Force has been enabled." Then I'm going to discharge as much power as I can spare into a single focused shot and aim it at its head.
