I want to give Mace a new range of spells to work with, so, I want to make him into an Acolyte of the Skin. Any knowledge in the CH database about Transgressive level demons that Mace and company can try to beat down? I think a demon deeply involved in dangerous magic would be best suited for him. Like the Senior Members in Angel, the sorcerer demon Wesley fought and died against.

Well, first you need to use your CPs. There's TONS of demons, even ones involved with dangerous magic... more specific?

Actually, since Mace is so powerful in his P.A. now, I think I need one that is physically strong. Physical, natural weaponry would be good. Maybe a kind that has armblades. One practicing somatic magic maybe? Enhancing themselves with magic? That would be a great combination.

Somatic magic can mean a few things, like hand signs. Mace can do this in quarantine.
Mace has heard of a demon with four intersecting bone blades from each of its arms. It uses bone to guide electricity and is a plasma demon, and it uses its martial arts to combine both physical and magical attacks. It's honorable, though, so it may not be the best to get... but you could try to get him as an NPC. He may have a rival with somewhat similar skills that would be better.

Mace will try and get him as an ally. Location, name?

Mace hasn't heard of either.

So where did he hear about it from?

Just by reputation; you know, the type of rumors that go "Man, this badass dude..."

Ah, alright. I guess I might as well work on my gumshoe skills while I'm in this thread.
He's a demon, so I could go to the demon realms, but he also sounds like he has an honor code so he must not fight without cause. And if he has the sort of reputation like "Man, this badass dude..." I'm going to assume he fights in tournaments or fight rings, making himself known. Are there any popular sort of legal fighting tournaments that happen on a weekly basis or something?

Well, in some quarters of the Demon Realms, there are nearly constant fights. Tournaments and fighting rings are all part of it, such as the Colosseum that Firebrand fought Somulo in (technically it was in the Human Realms, but it was moved from the Demon Realms so it would be in the Demon Realms).

Hmm, well, given he's honorable and chooses not to kill, then maybe that means in competitions where it's expected that you kill, this would be considered odd behavior. Any competitions you can participate in that has that sort of attitude? You won't get kicked out for not killing, but it's highly recommended or anything?

Well, if you don't kill, who's gonna stop you?

I mean, any competitions that won't stop you from killing your opponent (even encouraging it), and won't kick you out for not killing your opponent.

Mace and Laura went hunting for the demon. First they contact Laura's CI from the good ol' days and missed the hint Shem gave her that someone's listening in. Disguised as demons, the two teleport to Shem's last location and Mace gets testy and challenges Shem when Shem is panicky and draws a gun. Mace turned the gunpowder to sugar and gets a faceful of it. Shem drew a knife, got in a tussle with Laura while demon friends of Shem come over. Mace freezed time, got things to cool for a moment, the team went back into places, Shem cleared up the problem, and yeah.
To calm Shem down, Laura gave him a mix of Bliss and Jazz, powerful drugs, and questioned him on the competitor demon. Damon Halliwell came by and discussing things with Mace and Laura.
Some major screw ups so far, maybe they can reclaim a bit of pride.

...Bit premature, wasn't this?
Ialo, the bone demon, is in the Plains of Osirah. What he's there for is unknown, except that he's probably fighting Shaizan.

Laura and Mace were scanning an open area in the Plains of Osirah to teleport too, scanning so no surprises will catch them.

The Plains of Osirah are apparently now bisected by a very large ravine, a gash in the ground that almost looks like a scar from above. The dominant color of the little fauna and life in the area, as well as the atmosphere, is a reddish tint. Primitive tents dot the landscape on both sides, congregating with some attempt at organization in two centers, but it's clear that more demons are to be found in the brush.

Alright. We'll teleport next to the ravine, at the very beginning of the gash in the earth.

No Jerry or Brent joining them, no NPCs?

|
|
Post by Mace Parshath on Mar 24, 2007 23:08:44 GMT -5
Well, the journey originally was going to just be them two, but I should bring Brent and Jerry, seeing as Brent could use some action and Jerry would be useful given he's a shinigami. No NPCs, unless you think it would be better and safer to do so.
