So I'm going to let you guys pick a rule system for this game. Options include:
*Grand Cosmos *Freeform *A new system entirely *D20
I would consider BESM if I could get the rules.

I would prefer d20 but will do new system and freeform before grand cosmos.

I too would prefer d20, but freeform or a new system is fine I just am not really used to grand cosmos very much.

I'm feeling freeform a bit as well, I'd like to try a freeform game.
People make characters at least for now with no stats, just ability and training concept.

actually I would prefer a d20 game since I kinda want a familiar rule system for this one thank you.

My main problem with D20 is that it actually doesn't really well simulate the fast-paced action and broad range of power that I'd prefer. I might scope out some D20 adaptations but for example the damage of a lightsaber (as anyone who's played KotoR knows) is laughably small.

yeah and anyone who has played d20 starwars knows that a jedi with a lightsaber will do 10d8 per hit which is hugh in a d20 game
but if you want freeform then whatever.

I'll consider D20 if the clamor's large enough and if someone can show me an adaptation that really does anime justice, but I'm not seeing it. And I wouldn't say 10d8 is right for a lightsaber either: Humans can survive a strike from a lightsaber too, it's just a matter of period of contact, ala the scene where Qui Gon melts through the droid door.
What I'm actually going to do is a White Wolf-style dot system.

Well, this is a compromise solution. Character creation can occur in five minutes and is heavily freeform: You basically just tell me with your dot allocation what you want to be good at. Go, man, go!
