For those who take pride in their speed, strength, endurance, dexterity, or similar attributes, competitions for the Olympics and in other sports leagues are always good ideas. Soccer! Football! Baseball! Track! Weightlifting! Crashing Heavens would be eagerly awaited at each.

Fracas would totally be into trying out some weightlifting and wrestling

Fracas will undoubtedly need to consult with someone to see the proper direction to go.

Are there any professional weight lifters around?
Otherwise Fracas will talk to that russian wrestler from street fighter... Damn it, what is that dude's name?

Zangief. And while not "professional", Helvena, Kumo, etc. are very good because of what they do to keep in shape for Crashing Heavens.

Heh, it would totally be like Fracas to have a fuzzy little Moogle consult him about the olympics.

It makes sense, Kumo is a deadly fighter, as you've seen repeatedly.

"Kumo, I need your experience in something. I am thinking of competing in the Olympics but dont really know where to begin. Think you could offer a cute moogle hand?"

Kumo leaps up on Fracas' shoulder brandishing a long knife. "I've killed men for asking less. Now. You're strong. But strength isn't enough. Everyone else who's there had the idea that they're strong so they should get in. Now, there are two things that separate champions from contenders. What do you think they are?"

"Technique and heart? Heart always seems to be that factor that can win the day," Fracas says with a smile as he continues walking.

"That's actually pretty close to how I'd say it. Brains! Brains. And willpower. And people always get those two wrong too. See, nothing in this universe is simple. Nothing is simply a test of strength or power. There's always en element of thought involved. In weight-lifting, it's not just about being strong; if it were, you'd beat me every time. No, it's also about thinking about how to pace yourself to give the best performance, it's about choosing the right weight and position for long-term success, it's about leveraging exactly what's unique about you. If you're serious about the Olympic bid, you'll need to know every second's calculation a thousand times, with a thousand variables planned and controlled."

"See, now, I am all about thinking things through. The smart fight is the best fight. Whatever you got hidden up that little sleeve of yourse, I want to know...err...learn."

"There are better people out there than me. There are smarter and stronger. But one thing I have: fucking balls. So we'll turn to those people when we need them. But I will make it more than impossible. You will give 110% and you'll fail."
OOG: Kumo means it. Committing to this will mean a reduction of Fracas' power normally, except in special situations, because of all the training types.

"So you want to put me through hell, right? I wouldnt expect anything else." Fracas states flatly. "Only thing is, Im not gonna fail."

Kumo smiles sinistrally. "Then we'll change the game."
Kumo first takes Fracas to Crashing Heavens' weight room and clears out a good section for them. It is the clean-and-jerk section, and there is a large enchanted adamantite bar holding two stable neutronium discs. "Get to cleanin'."

Fracas does a quick streach to the right, then to the left. To the floor, then to the sky.
Approaching the weights, he spreads his legs wide and low, grabs the bar with all four hands, and starts 'cleanin'.

The first few iterations are just fine, yet Kumo smiles as if there was some kind of ulterior fact lurking. Then on the fifth clean, it becomes obvious. The mass alters to the right, and the gravity of the bar raises a hundred fold. "Keep going."

Fracas moves his inside left arm to the right to help support the weight on that side, and extends two of his arm ports in the form of normal hands to help clean the weight.

As Fracas does that, the weight then shifts into the center of the bar and its center of gravity leans towards Fracas.

Extending the last two of his arm ports in the form of insect claws, Fracas grabs the ground with them for stabilization as he balances out his arms equally and continues to clean the weight.

Daedrous: Same question: How will you begin your preparation for the Olympics? I imagine qualifying rounds will be soon, so picking the right trainer and thinking of the right regimen will be vital.
Fracas: Now that he's stabilized, the weight moves to the side and back when Fracas is completing the clean. Now each iteration, the whole weight distribution, amount, gravity, density, texture, etc. modifies.
You know, on a side note, I can't think of anyone on the team who's a primary archer.

Ok, I dont really know what else to say besides he cleans the weight...

Fracas is quickly becoming exhausted, and frequently enough the weight alters in the middle of the highest point of the pull or during the jerkback or during the initial pull that Fracas is afraid of a hernia-equivalent, having the bar fall on his neck or having his arms break. "Dammit, Fracas, think! You're doing 100 even if it kills you!" Fracas has done 30. He needs a strategy, quick.

At this point Fracas is starting to get pissed. Clenching the bar with horrific intent, Fracas goes beyond the bar and grabs reality itself, encasing the weight in a seperate chunk of reality and controling it with his ability to control kenitic energy, and uses position shift to further get the upperhand. Focusing his energy even more, he fills the weights with Chi, and uses Chi weight control to make them do what he wants. Still not satisfyed, he syncs up with the weight changes by using his KJ Roll + Capoeira + Crooked Monk training, and uses Vital Harmony to sync up his insides as well. And as the last part of his plan, Fracas Plunges into the Primordial Depths to further control the weight.

Kumo smiles. "THERE you go." Fracas slowly begins to manipulate the bar as a tool, getting a rhythm with it. As he cleans the next sixty times, Kumo says, "There you go. You see, I'm a decent mathematician, and I'm trying to find a way to control all the constants and variables and reduce them as much as possible. You see, the bar may be uneven, may be different, and as you get tired it will feel different."
On the ninety-first push, Fracas' foot slips, and he pushes back. For a moment he panics, and the bar slips back forward precipitously at his neck. "This is the real thing! Remember what you're doing this for! Take a breath, take each one on its own, and put yourself into your space!"

Taking a deep breath, Fracas' wings jut out from his back and smash into the ground, helping him regain his footing. Focusing on where the weight is taking him and using all his technique, he works through the last clean.

The next pull comes. Fracas' arms have just that last bit of rigidity in them.
Then the next. The arms finally become limp. Fracas teeters back and forth. Kumo says, "Do NOT drop that weight! Put that weight down!"
Then the next. A comforting warmth spreads. Fracas continues to push, through the next, then the next, then the next, then the next, then the next, then the next, and then the last one.
As the weight comes down, Fracas lets go, then falls over on top of it. The hard metal juts into his stomach.
Suddenly, Fracas is being strapped to the ground. Kumo smiles and says, "This makes it easier."

Fracas eyes Kumo for a second. "Ok, I give... What are we doing now?"

Fracas' question comes out as a whisper. What comes next is much, much louder. And involuntary. Because Fracas is being shocked. "You see, we just broke down your muscles. This is when they're best to be built up. I'll be back." He feels the strange arcing of force, pain and numbness that such a powerful charge necessitates. As he pulls against the metal, it cools him but makes the pain worse. "This is also a discipline exercise. Might want to keep from fighting against the metal."
