Sohma Katsu - An ill tempered young man attending Onagi High. Sohma lost his parents in a fatal car crash leaving both him and his brother to a orphanage. This was where his foul temper was born, he was angry at the man who caused the accident that stole his parents, angry at his parents for dieing, angry at the other children for how little they understood, and it was this anger that brought him to the attention of an old man who would become Sohma's Muay Thai master. Master Yodsuwan saw the path that Sohma would walk unless stopped and took pity on the boy. He adopted him and his brother and took them to his dojo where he trained them with the hope that Martial Arts would better Sohma's temperament. Sohma was a hard student, impulsive, narrow minded, and a trouble maker; but with perseverance Master Yodsuwan got through to him and taught Sohma to use his anger constructively, changing it from red hot fury to stone cold determination. Despite this Sohma still comes off blunt and irritable to his fellow students, however Sohma treasures the friends he's been able to make, and even though he'll never tell them how much their companionship means to him he would go to any length to protect them.

Not everyone who lives the hard life is waiting to live an easier one. Sometimes they are in preference to their current existence and will be as they are until the day they die. This chance occurrence is everything but the opposite as troubled souls, like any other people, will grow strong even if forsaken.
Sohma Katsu may be such an individual. Regardless of what tale is told in the end it is certain that he will face the challenges of Onagi High head on even if he must run from them initially.
[Episode 22 - A Leap of Fear]
Sohma is being walked to the parkour group that he'd heard about by a classmate of his, Renji Wakamaru. He takes Sohma to the western school gate, deserted as it should be after school accept for four guys varying in age and year.
"Hey guys" Renji says once he's close enough. "This is the guy I told you about" he motions back to you.

Sohma waves and explains his situation against the living legends finishing with "And I know that I can't take them on by myself so if I encounter one of them on my own I have no choice but to run. That's where you guys come in, Free Running, Parkour, may be my only way out of those situations."

"That's actually not a bad idea. Some of the guys here originally joined up for sorta the same reason" the leader of the group says. He's a senior of average build with brown hair cut almost to a military shortness.
"But I gotta say it's the first time I've heard of someone trying to run from a living legend. I think this will require something a bit special" he continues noding to the rest of the group. "Come on".
He and the other five begin jogging down the street towards what Sohma knows is a small shopping district.

Sohma follows them at the same jogging pace and comments "You've probably never heard of it because the kids at this school all seem to have nothing but fighting on their mind, they'd rather have their faces turned inside out than run. Me? I like my face how it is." Despite the levity of his comment Sohma is paying close attention to what all of the members are doing ready to mirror them when the time comes.

"Hey, I hear you" a guy to your left says. "I like a good scrap but if some third year decides to practice his tiger claw on my nuts I'd like to be able to escape too"
"Hey" the leader says "we're getting close"
The group turns down a small alleyway to the side of a silks and scarves store. "We're gonna start simple and go up that fire escape" the leader continues "but we're not going to slow down. Leap, grab and up...like this!"
With almost movie-like timing he leaps, grabs onto the fire escape and scales it up. Several other guys in front of you repeat the maneuver with a little less but still impressive success. From watching them you get a general idea of the timing and think you should be able to do it.

Sohma sprints towards the fire escape and leaps trying to mimic the people who did it before him.

Sohma finds he is reasonably adept at leaping and grabbing the fire escape like the ones before him. He climbs up after the others only to find the leader of the group waiting for him at the top. But instead of a hand he offers a kick from Sohma's left side.
"Forward roll!" he calls while he kicks.

I'll roll forward and to the right to avoid the kick.

You easily roll forward and to the right and avoid the kick. After you come up you see the leader of the group half jogging behind you.
"Not bad, not bad. Let's try something a little tougher next..."
As you both continue forward you come up to a couple of large square structures. A couple of guys from the group are waiting for the two of you as you approach, one on each side of the small opening between the structures (it's maybe four feet wide).
"Now leap into the roll to carry yourself forward"
Lead runner pulls ahead of you enough to demonstrate first. Before he's even in range of the guys (both faking preparation to punch) he goes low and leaps straight forward swiftly covering several feet of ground and transitioning beautifully into a roll. In almost an instant he disappears into the space between the structures...

Sohma runs toward the two guys ready that they may not fake a punch at him and tries to mimic the leaders moves.

Though Sohma does a nice job on the leap he feels himself tilt towards the end and nearly runs into the left side wall. Barring that the rest of his jog outside the other end of the structure is perfectly manageable. Then his first real "hurdle" comes into view.
"DON'T. SLOW. DOWN. I don't think they have the netting down there anymore" the leader says as the end of this building and the beginning of the next comes into view. A good eight to ten feet between them.
The leader seems to just reach the end and hop across as if the space were nothing more than a large puddle. It is soon after that Sohma must attempt to mirror his mentors moves.

He sprints as fast as he can and throws himself across the gap in the buildings praying that either he'll make it or that the leader is wrong and they still have a net down there.

Sohma sprints and leaps! He feels himself become purely part of his own momentum for just a few seconds. His eyes cast a brief look down to see there really IS no net! When his left foot lands it instinctively pushes off with a ferocity that throws him forward enough to make the jump. In fact his left foot almost compensates too much almost resulting in a face plant.
"Alright. Congratulations! It's all about that first leap. The next part won't be nearly as difficult, just some one the job training scratch the job part" the leader explains.
For the next several hours Sohma spends time running with the group being shown in quick step-by-step manner different types of jumps, landings, methods of climbing and scaling obstacles, rolls and more than a few variations on just plain running. It is very enlightening.
[Sohma may now craft/choose techniques from Parkour! in addition to a flat bonus to retreating and evasive actions]
"Hey, not bad for your first day. At this rate you may be ready for the iron jungle within the week" Sohma hears the group leader comment as the group begins to dissolve for the day.

[Episode 22 - A Leap of Fear completed!]
Now that Sohma has learned how to better avoid and evade does this mean the amount of fights he engages in will be on a downward slope? Or will running against fate prove only that violence is the answer in the end? Either way we'll be sure to hear about whatever this tenatious young kickboxer is up to next episode.

Sohma passes by small gobs of people heading home for the day on his way to the locker room. With very little fuss he makes it there and suits up. However as he leaves the locker room something does catch his attention.
As he exits onto the small part of blacktop before the field he spots a couple of second years hanging around Kirie. They are both with black hair, tall and in brown and white basketball jersys. Probably part of the school's team. However, despite how much they're hanging on her Kirie sure doesn't seem happy about it.

Second year. And from the look of it quite full of themselves.

so I'm going to walk up to Kirie and place a hand on her shoulder "There you are Sis, come on we're gonna be late." and give her a look that says "play along"

"Hey, what's the rush? we were just trying to talk with your sister" one second year says stepping in front of Sohma.
"Yeah. Looks like you're heading to the field. Let us keep your sister company for a while. We'll look after her" another one says stepping in closer to the two of you.

The third guy steps in and tries to say something about the soccer gear Sohma is wearing but Kirie shoots him a razor sharp glare that causes them all to hesitate enough for the two of you to clear the guys. Once you're both a decent distance away Kirie sighs angrily.
"I hate guys like that. Do they really think they'll get girls if they all surround them like that?! UGH just pisses me off.." she stops short, probably realizing she's ranting and turns to you with a much softer expression.
"Thanks for the help"

"Yeah you're right" she says taking a quick look around. "I'll be sitting over there, don't mind me" Kirie points to a couple of benches alongside the field.
