Mace, Helvena, Kumo and Krane were going to a place of importance to Helvena, Kumo and Swaggard: The Undersea underneath the universe. They were at Rizelium, the Byzantine-like empire bordering the edge of the universe and functioning as a primary thoroughfare for those few who go from the universe to the Undersea.

Mace and the crew head to the rose Rose of Rizelium, the best restaurant in town. Once Mace leaps a glowing green hand print on the waiter's right ass cheek, he orders a bagel with cream cheese...about eight dozen orders of such, and waits patiently. Occasionally he looks over at Krane.

The bagels are provided. The water they were boiled in was clearly flavored, leading to a variety of subtle tastes, and the cream cheeses are accompanied with smoked salmon, various vegetable mixes, and other concoctions. Helvena orders simple bread. Kumo asks for steak and eggs, smoking his cigar gently while he uses his massive knife to cut. Krane orders meatloaf, eggs, steak, and round after round of other meats and proteins, seeming to take delight in defying being a vegetarian.
Kumo comments while his cute little teeth chew through the steak, ignoring decorum and tact, "So you really have no idea what to do in a place that makes Mos Eisley look like Disneyland?"

"Nope. Do you guys have any men you feel like hunting down here? For old times sake?" Mace devoured the bagels, especially with the smoked salmon dip. "I need weapon of magic, that can store magical energy when it's not in use, and when it is, it will have as much force as the time he spent collecting energy allowed. Know of any such thing?"

Helvena comments, "Ikiru, before he disappeared to Lords Above know where, had a blade called the Edge of Nothingness that accumulated his killing blows."
Kumo growls. "We know more than that, Helvena. Stop pussyfooting around and tell the kid what's up. We know a Lanotaur Psi-Hunter who works with a Power Leech. Both of them pretend they're lawmen, but they're brutal corrupt brigands who care more about the fight than protecting people."
Helvena shrugs. "You know I have always felt they could be turned to good, Kumo. As far as a weapon that stores magical energy, there is indeed an absolutely apocalyptic weapon, The Endless Storms, that has been placed in the Underseas to avoid it from being used negatively, or indeed really used at all. But it may be time for it to be drawn..."

"We're going to hunt for The Endless Storms once we take care of the lawmen. What area of the Undersea do they patrol?"

Kumo says. "They're not lawmen, dammit! They're fucking faggoty-ass butchers and I wanna see 'em bleed!"
Helvena clears his throat. "Everywhere, but they restock at a den of iniquity known as Brichtown."

"Brichtown then. We'll go look for them there after the meal. What more can you tell me about The Endless Storms?"

Kumo shrugs. "Simple, man. The blade is receptive to energy like a giant moocher at a New York liberal's soup kitchen. The univers's mystical motion fills it up, and then BAM! You cut things to pieces."

"I meant, where was it put? Who put it there?"

Helvena says, "There are many invisible forces, some not even wholly sentient, that keep forbidden and transgressive forces limited... The sword's location is an easier question. It has been put into a dungeon that keeps both magic and treasure seekers away."

"Can you get us there? Or know of anyone who could tell us or guide us to the weapon?"

"Yes. We will want a vessel to explore the Undersea, though..." Helvena seems uncomfortable again.

"Can we rent one?"

Helvena shakes his head. "No need. We stored the Steel Falcon here."

Mace, sensing Hel's discomfort, gets up from the table and heads over to Hel, taking him by his arm and guiding him to a vacant dining room nearby. "Hel, something's wrong. Mind telling me what it is?"

Hel puts up his hand. "I do not need to go elsewhere, my friend. There is a very painful story that we associate with the Underseas and our foolish youth."

Helvena sighs. "We were the Steel Falcons. Adventuring Rangers, a group of around ten. Helvena, Kumo, and I, and a man named... Galiardis. Galiardis was magnetic. Talented, charming, brilliant, and endlessly hedonistic. We did good and enjoyed ourselves. We explored the galaxies. Then..."

Mace sits and gnaws on another bagel, spreading odd combination of spreads ontop of it beforehand. He watches Hel, letting him take his time. He had a feeling this was a story of betrayal, but doesn't mention such and notes Hel saying "Helvena, Kumo, and I," which makes him really wonder about the man's sanity suddenly.

OOG: Ooops, that was a typo . However, Helvena does have a darker side to him. He responds with a deep sigh. "We found the Undersea. It was the greatest wish we could have hoped for: Debris and ruins that formed strata across the eons. Galiardis finally found an ancient shrine that had managed to amass energy rivalling the gods. All of us stood idly by while he took a resource meant for so much more and wished... wished for all of us to truly become Steel Falcons. The power rushed into all of us, most especially him, and transformed us all. Imbued us with power beyond our dreams, including the ability to transform into a shape fitting our insignia. Galiardis was permanently transformed."

"So, that's how you became what you are now?" Mace stops gnawing on his bagel and leans forward on the table, looking at Hel. His mind began to work.

"Yes. And the wish let loose negative energy that tore through the universe caused catastrophe."

"Mmm," he says, thinking on that. He didn't think he needed details on places it destroyed, given that he said it tore through the universe, so that must mean it caused damage that doesn't need to be specified on. He chews on a bagel with some cream cheese spread on the top, wondering now about the shrine. "I'm assuming that shrine was destroyed."

Mace, having no real idea as to how to handle this, nods. "I see now. He still down here? And I think we should go hunting for Endless Storms if there is enough time before that leech and psi-hunter restock their supplies at Brichtown. Do you think there is? Maybe we should check Brichtown to find out when they last resupplied."
