Last we left the Twenty, they had just been witness to DF devastating Fred in melee combat. Despite his misgivings, Fred made a proverbial deal with the devil and offered this obviously powerful... long lost brother thing? a position as an associate of QSI.
As Fred leaves, DF smiles. "He could hold down a whole Company squad on his own and he was as a fly to me. Poor brother; we shall have to make sure his powers aren't squandered. As for us... since the Company branch is essentially ours, it is time we find our ways to run this city. Any proposals?"
Pierrot smiles, his teeth crunching in that weird way. "I want to have fun, Daddy!", he says, stretching out "Daddy" in a horrible combination of reverence and mockery that could only come from someone that disturbed.
Stygian folds her arms, clearly uncomfortable in a civilian outfit. "Fun can come later. I entered into this hasty alliance to enhance my abilities for profit, power and warfare, and I will not see the third stressed at the expense of the former two."
Spinerip utters, "Fuck that! I want to have fun!"
Cecil says, "Much as I love slasking my bloodthirst, I love money more. And we can't be too obvious or else the cops will come and kill us."
Lintaran shakes his head. "We can only do one thing. This is hopeless."
DF smiles. "That is a fallacy, Lintaran. The point of federation is for us to gain all the benefits of teamwork without any of the disadvantages. I can't stop any of you from doing what you want. So let's make this a bit... organized. Spinerip, you, Rostigor (yes, I see you itching to fight there, Rostigor), Zarathos, Z'lav and Pierrot can do what you please. Keep in contact and report at an agreed upon place and time weekly. And, if you have anything... fun, or ravishing, keep me informed, will you? Rostigor: Since killing your foes is secondary, try to avoid doing so. We might pick up some allies that way. I'll undoubtedly join you at some point when I get bored. Candle Man! Accompany them, make sure no superhumans decide to harangue them."
DF continues. "Meanwhile, the rest of us have things to do. Cecil: Feel free to stay in your lair for the day. We have some capital among us, so money would be nice but secondary. What we need are contacts, some notoriety, information, and so on. Do what you can in that department. Salt-In-Wounds: I know you despise sullying your art among the masses, but some kind of dojo could give us a great public face, defuse some criticism, run some contraband, and find us talent before it's lost to us. would you... terribly mind?"
Salt-In-Wounds growls in a strangely... bestial manner. "I despise mankind, but one could do worse while surviving on the surface. I want to destroy this city."
DF smiles. "You're a predator. You know that patience is as vital as anything else. Waiting is the game. This is your trap. And you may destroy the city as you wish. Perhaps... poison the water?"
Salt-In-Wounds nods. "It will be a... tolerable, is it? state of affairs."
DF turns back to the broader team. "Lintaran, Marrow, Spinal, Okixxi, Lightning, Jukai, Stygian, Salkind, Denwyn, Basil, Bloodstone. We have to find a building, make criminal contacts, spread some terror... a healthy mix. Are there any objections? Arguments? Proposals?"
What will Marrow and Zapan do/say?
Want me to post their sheets here? Or e-mail them to you?
