Quick list of classes. Since I'm too lazy to write up descriptions I'll just post em all here and if any look interesting post and I'll give you a description. Makes my job a lot easier. Note that the Vampire will not be appearing in this campaign.
Ranger
Thief
Paladin* - Dragon - Lion - Anzar - Chieftain - Death Knight
Swashbuckler
Conjurer
Elementalist
Warlock
Battlemage
Voodoo Master
Necromancer/Cleric**
Druid
Barbarian
Zealot*** - Fanatic - Wildman - Weapon Master
Golem-Mage
Ninja
Tinkerer
Bard
Vampire****
Martial Artist†- Monkey Style - Tiger Style - Eagle Claw Style - Praying Mantis Style - Dragon Style
*The Paladin class is divided up into 5 sections from which players must choose. **The Necromancer and the Cleric are basically the same class. The only distinction is the title and a few of their abilities. While it is most common, it is not necessary for a Necromancer to be Evil or a Cleric to be Good. A Necromancer tends to focus more on getting a wound taken care of (No matter the resulting scars) while the Cleric focuses more on bringing a character back to perfect health (Regenerate an arm instead of sewing on a new one). ***The Zealot class, like the Paladin class, is divided into 3 sections from which the player must choose. ****Vampire is a newly added class, and is a special case. I will only allow certain players access to this class during character creation. (Not playing favorites. Just making sure Vampires remain few and far between, as well as making sure they don't make an appearance in a character they wouldn't) †This class is currently being worked on. It will be divided into 5 or so styles of Martial arts of which the character practices. Each style has it's own unique attacks and skills.

I imagine the Monkey Style will be much like it is in real life: a lot of screeching, "Oo-oos" and "Ah-ahs", very acrobatic, jumping in and out. To quote Ninjas and Superspies, "To best understand the whys and wherefores of the Monkey form, just pay a visit to the Monkey House of the nearest zoo and spend some time watching. They have the ability to be completely related yet constantly alert, they always roll smoothly away from attacks, yet they can turn and leap attack instantly. They have the patience to watch and wait for an indefinite period, waiting to catch someone else off guard. Some of the monkey-imitation strikes include double-knuckle punches, slaps, arcing fingers and devious overhead raps."
Dragon Style I don't know about the Shaolin real-life equivalent.

Yeah, Fred's pretty close to the mark.
Monkey-style does alot of dodging and quick attacks, also it's generally very low to the ground.
Dragon-style is a very offensive style, focusing on very quick precise shots aimed at breaking bones and damaging internal organs.

That sounds even kinkier than what happened in Bangkok, Bob.

She did know Dragon Style, that's why she broke that guys ankle with that gnarly sweep. Course, you pretty much owned him so she didn't get to show off much... But yeah, she knew it.

Heres all the styles i wrote tiny descriptions for when i researched martial arts for mike....
Monkey Style-specializes in unpredictable attacks and defense, also encompasses drunken monkey style.(stays low in the sense your quite slouched have bent knees and stand on your feet oddly.)
Tiger Style -Specializing in extremely powerful kicks or punches while maintaining calm and centered mindset.
EagleClaw Style - specialize in long reach attacks, pinning opponents and utilizing pressure points.
Praying Mantis Style -specializes in fast dextrous attacks
Dragon Style -specializing in disabling opponents by damaging bones and tendons and organs{mortal wounding}
You can edit/repost those how you like mike.
Note:this is just little info on the realistic styles that mike thought about adapting for mandate. They may change in any way when he puts them in the game.

Monkey Style also includes forms that resemble Crane Style (Bok Pai Kung Fu), Dog Style (Kuo Ch'uan), and forms that are blindly aggressive (Stone Monkey) or designed to trick an opponent (Wood Monkey).
Fu Chiao Pai (Tiger Claw) is a very intense direct combat form taught in Tibet and China. Like a tiger, practitioners leap into battle with a charge then use their special claw strikes.
Tong Lun Kung Fu (Praying Mantis) is most famous for its Gou Grip, which use fingers to punch in and rip flesh. Practitioners experiment with things such as punching through meat, strike paper falling in the air hard enough to impale or tear it, and tap the corner of their eyeball without gouging it. It has a good balance of attacks and holds/locks but suffers in kicks.
Styles inspired by animals that Pedro didn't list (and that Mike may or may not include) are Pheonix Eye, Dog Boxing, Pao Pat Mei (Leopard Style) and Snake Style.

I'm using Pedro's list as a basis for five styles in Mandate. Obviously, it's not going to be accurate to the real life equivilants and will be much more stylized for the fantasy perspective of the game.
Meaning things like, Martial Artists being able to jump over buildings or throw trees. (At high levels, obviously... but it's definately possible)

Of course superhuman abilities tend to come with the terrain, but they're superhuman abilities derived from the style's internal logic and focus. I hope.

Neither am I. Neither are most Kung Fu film directors. You don't need to be Picasso to make a movie about art. One just needs to understand the execution, the philosophy, the concept.
