Last I remember, you were trying to get a ship out of the small but growing shanty town you were in.
EDIT: Eeks, I can't find the sheet. I know you had Mace, Edward Elric, Aang, Aapeli, Angrod, Parsiferus, you had found Fred. And I think you had a female healer.

Never had Aang, I had Tifa though. But I feel like starting over since it has been so long. Maybe a new main character for myself, but base it more on Resident Evil of sorts. Leon Kennedy, a new version of Laura, Aaron (Communist Secret Police dude), and Jill Valentine. I think that's a good starting team.

All right, how many levels, 25, 50 or 100? Distribute as you see fit, give me abilities/equipment/Limit Breaks, and we'll get this started.

All right, premise of the party? Cops, right?

Yeah. And the general game area...maybe the RE world or post-apocalyptic with a bunch of undead creatures and monsters roaming around.

The RE world is better because it's in Earth, but I don't know very much about it (never played the game). I'd prefer just a police quest, maybe having moved away from Raccoon to Chicago or something.

Alright. The group will be in Chicago, hearing of Umbrella Corporation's newest biological reseach department there, and want to make sure there isn't another 'accident' like in Racoon.

And are they cops, PIs, what?

Ex-S.T.A.R.S., basically they were an anti-cult police branch that deals with the more unusual cases. The cannibalistic killings in Raccoon Forest were thought to be cult-related, so they were sent in. But they were framed for being the cause of burning the Spencer Estate and hunted by Umbrella since they run Raccoon. So, vigilantes sponsored by the few remaining S.T.A.R.S. branches that believe them about the cover-up with Umbrella.

S.T.A.R.S. was pretty much just a SWAT equivalent of Raccoon City, from what I understand. And that'd be a major problem for a publically funded police organization to fund vigilantes believed to be wanted arsonists. That also makes y'all hunted at the very beginning, from which I'll let you get some leeway...

Well, in the book series they were anti-cult or fighting against cases that just got too weird. So sure, that's fine. The entire STARS branch has basically gone vigilante except those still on Umbrella payroll. So, no, the publically-funded police department did not hire vigilantes, but fired the STARS who were.

So you're a sub-component of this vigilante branch of STARS individuals seeking to prevent future zombie, undead and other outbreaks. How is this group funded?

|
Post by Mace Parshath on Dec 9, 2006 16:13:08 GMT -5
The remaining funds that they kept from before they openly admitted their seperation from STARS. And we're actually just trying to take down Umbrella in general. The funds would be very limited, and we have some connections with good-hearted FBI agents who give us information every once and while.

Well, if you choose to have some money from STARS, you may have to face an embezzlement charge for channeling public funds towards a vigilante or terrorist group. Willing to make that trade?

|
Post by Mace Parshath on Dec 12, 2006 19:41:50 GMT -5
No no no, there were members of STARS who took out money -before- they left, so we have some money, but STARS is hunting us down too, now.

Right, but here's the thing. You took public funds and eventually funneled them to a vigilante group. So yeah, embezzlement charges, which also makes it hard to secure credit and stuff like that. Being fugitives can suck, but then it can also make some sense from the FF component. Just your choice as to whether or not the additional one-time funds are worth the medium-term disadvantage.

Yeah, I'll take that chance.
EDIT: You know, since there are so many complications with this, let's just go for a Buffy-style one. I'll select new characters, all of them in high school, and slowly become aware of the demons in the world. Sound good?

Actually, we were right about to get going with this one. You could just tack your Buffy-style characters onto this one with the STARS folk, actually makes for a fun campaign (some higher and lower level people). Whatever you want, though.

I'll stick to the STARS, and alright. So how do we begin?

|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Feb 7, 2007 14:48:54 GMT -5
Well, give me the Buffy-style characters as well if you'd like, I wouldn't mind a campaign with some level 1 characters.

How about 25 level one characters? : P I don't mind just a few level one characters at all, start off real slow and such.

25 level 1s would actually be more like a Shining Force or Fire Emblem campaign. You could go for it.
