The body of the Beast of Arcane Circles lies dead at the feet of Crashing Heavens. The great circles are lifeless. The old Librarian, a fallen god (with name still unknown), walks over to the body, examining it carefully. He then says, "This is not dead. The five pillars built to seal it must be found and put into its body before it revives!"
The team must explore the depths of the Magister to avert catastrophe.

Mace and crew: Go!
"What are the pillars made of? Stone, crystal, metal...?" Mace asks.

"A substance not of this world, ephemeral and yet hard as metal."

"Any ideas as to where they are?" Mace looks over the body, studying the magical energies.

"I am not sure. I believe there are one each in this floor, upstairs, downstairs, and in the catacombs. The rooms that contain the secret to finding the pillar are marked, though."

Mace looks around the area, looking for any sort of exit or passage way.

The initial room is a massive library, half of which is a solid and full section of books. However, on the opposite side of the room, there is a gigantic staircase going both up and down, currently occupied by the sleeping beast. There is also the small side entrance that the team came in by and a sealed former main entrance. Debris litters everywhere, but none of it so substantial that it would stop any of you.

"We'll start at the top and work our way down." Mace, Laura, and Brent procceed to the staircase and go up to the highest level.

Any NPCs for either of you? And will you try to keep in contact?

Hel and Krane for me. And sure. Is it possible to just leave a trace of 'unique' mana on hack's team so I can track them and keep in contact through it?

It sure is, but I meant more like radio communication or telepathy kinda stuff.

Hmm, well, the mana could be mentally-tuned, so telepathic communication is possible. But sure, radio-contact is good.

...Yeah, mana can't really be mentally tuned, though I suppose spell FUNCTIONS can do that. Spell architecture. Then again, I think Mace can probably act without imposing architecture, but it would be a spontaneous channel, not continuous channel. So that plus radio?

Let's just stick to radios then. Laura's cyberbrain will keep track of positions through trackers in the radios.

Sounds fun! Formation of your team? Any defenses you're gonna keep up?

Krane and Jerry will lead, side by side. Jerry's Seburo M-5 will be drawn, along with his zanpankuto (sp?). Him and krane are the front line for physical confrontations. Brent (flexed into his healing and defensive classes) and Mace will be next, side-by-side. Mace is the offensive, Brent is the defensive healer, right behind Krane and Jerry. Laura and Hel are in the back, poised for physical combat. Laura with her pair of caster pistols with some low-grade rounds ready and Hel with whatever he uses for close combat.
Brent will cast the respective level spell for something akin to blocking magical attacks on Jerry, Krane, Hel, and Laura. He'll cast the respective level of Protect for himself and Mace, balancing out the weaknesses of each character. Jerry will check for mechanical and spiritual traps as they procceed through the place to the top level. They're changing their strategy to cover the overhead level, not starting at the very top, just the next level up.
The entire group's RSN will coordinate into a reconnaisance/strike team, taking out smaller creatures of threat. They'll cloak themselves in shadows if they see a threat, and send one back to report their findings so the team can prepare for a pre-emptive strike. The Tzemke will be on stand-by with their barrier bugs to protect the team against ambush.

Zanpakuto.
Why is Brent doing the MAGIC buffs? He can do psychic buffs much better... Or are you assuming Mace can't be in this op?

...I don't actually -know- any psionic buffs that do such things, so I figured I'd save myself the embarassment and just have him use magical buffs as well just for the sake of it.

Psychic abilities to protect one from magic leverage psi versus magic. Nega-Psychic Aura buffs could do the trick, would absorb a ton of magic. Telekinetic Protects are nice. Barriers, psychic boosting of the body and mind, etc. can also be buffs.
