Jack receives as a face-down card a 6. The grandmother and one of the teens clearly show their tell: good cards. No one else seems especially happy.

Jack will put up another 1k for his next card, and keep a solid poker face on.

There are no more betting sessions in most blackjack games. Are you going to double down with a 6?

Typically from what I understand the facedown card is dealt first, though there is some variation. In this casino, the first card is facedown and the second faceup. Only a bet such as a double-down occurs after the first card and after the second card one can split, double-down, or similar.

The grandmother is ecstatic. No one else seems to be. A Queen. The dealer says, "A bust on the part of that gentleman." The Entan asked for a card, gets an 8, asks for another, gets an Ace, then another. He smiles and says, "Twenty-one." Teen A asks for a hit, gets a 9, asks for another, a 4. Teen B and the grandmother stay. The Quick-Flex growls and says, "Hit."He gets a 7 and snarls at Teen A, "You took my 4." The dealer says, "That is a bust." The dealer flips her card, showing a 13. She draws a Queen, and pays everyone but Jack and the Quick-Flex.

Jack has a 10. The dealer reveals a K and says, "Insurance?" [She may have a blackjack.] The grandmother purchases insurance, no others do.

The dealer looks at the hole card. "No blackjack, game continues." She takes the insurance bets. Jack currently has a 4 and a 6, and the hit card is a 7. (When you want to make a card-counting check, tell me.)

The dealer nods. The Entan gets a 4. He smiles and says, "Let me show you how it's done, stranger." He splits his cards into. The one with the 4 hits for a 2, 3, 3 and 7. The other then double-downs. Teen A shows an Ace, then draws a King, then hits and gets a 5, then stays. Teen B gets a 10 and stops. The Quick-Flex draws an Ace and smiles. "Blackjack. Pay me". She gets 3:2 pay. The Grandmother shows a 4, then a 5, then hits and busts. The dealer flips another King. The Entan lost half of his bet but pushed the double-down, Jack loses, Teen A loses, Teen B pushes.

Yeah... Except the ONLY person who won was the blackjack and the dealer drew two face cards, a fairly frequent occurance when you see one is a face card.
5k this time, you mean? Last time you put down 10k and put 5k for insurance, making your net loss 16k.
