Whether in the context of a Star Trek-like exploration crew or space pirating, here is where the team can explore the briny depths of space!

Swaggard takes archeus and takeshi on a ship and takes off into space.

Is he just randomly exploring, or is he targeting anything, anyone, anywhere or anytime in particular?

Evan, Wyatt and Jack will grab a pleasure robot, supplies, and a ship(a scienece vessel if possible), and attempt to explore the outer edge of the galaxy, and proform experiments on the orb of energy that surrounds the galaxy.

OOG: If you're getting that from science, those experiments have already been done a long time ago.

Bummer, then screw the science, we'll just go explore...

OOG: Doesn't mean there aren't space experiments left.
Just started heading somewhere randomly?

Hmm far enough, how many experiments have been done and involving black holes, and targeting research. (By this I mean, using the blackhole as a thin spot in the fabric of this dimension or this universe. to travel to another.)

OOG: Also been done.

OOC: Hmm, what hasn't been done?

OOG: Sounds like something you'd need to review the literature for, non?

Hmm maybe they can go space creature hunting, or maybe find some weird anomaly and get blasted with its goodness....

Sounds like it. Going to do any research beforehand or just go for it?

Well I know something that live out there, like the Lavos and what not, and that they are attracted by energy.....but i think i might just go for it.

There are many such things: the Budong, the Lavos, Branxes... And there are fouler and rarer creatures one can seek. A good place to begin would be Sling.

To sling we go! Now once we find something ultra rare and sexeh exactly what could we do with it? Earn it as a summon? Maybe call it as a familar?

Give it to Spira as a preserved body as a puppet? Swallow it as Jess to get its powers?
Sling:
Called so (in fairly much every language) because this planet has one, rather strange, function in interstellar commerce: the single best slingshotting hub in the galaxy. (Slingshotting, for those not in the know, is when a ship comes into a gravitational mass and builds up speed inside of it, somewhat like a marble building up torque in a dimple of cloth. The planet is a huge gas giant, even larger than Jupiter, with unique gravitic properties given other masses close to it. It also orbits a rather large sun (which may indeed go supernova). Bouncing around in an infinity-sign shape between the sun and the planet can amass incredible velocity for any ship, and simply doing the run around the planet also works.
Thus, a queer little industry has built up around Sling. Mobile resorts will hook onto large ships or expensive yacht: some highly illicit thrills (and Sling's laws are among the laxest in the galaxies in the interstellar regions) and some more refined ones. A large space warp belt structure has been built, wherein a ship can amass speed, while the passengers step through soft force membranes into a long snaking set of shops, hotels, clubs, spas, salons, and so on. With a proper guide, one can be ready to step onto one's ship while it is in motion. If one misses, no matter: special teleporters can take one to try again, and if one has the time, a second run can be done, building up more energy.
Of course, Sling is an invaluable resource, and so the people of the large gas giant have developed a draconian militarist society in response to constant pirates. Compared to the almost lawless laws for the tourists, the people live under abject tyranny. Individuals vote in a tyrant through series of elimination rounds, who must accept under pain of death by the horrific guard. The tyrant is almost a head bureaucrat, as most of the time he is simply the sentient face of a machinery of death. Racism, sexism, material inequity, and so on do not exist: all are equal in the face of the society. (Though occasional corruption for those in the military bureaucracy does occur, they are not corrupted by power especially. This hardly assuages the people). Those who deal with other cultures either learn to contain revulsion at the... liberty, are moved somewhere where their snide comments will do no damage or never move back planetside, living the rest of their lives in reasonable freedom. Many interstellar travellers get a bad vibe from the place, and many who know of the culture sustaining Sling get a very sick feeling.
So, any ideas as to where/what to do there?

Either investigate the vibe, and check out the shindig, or slingshot into space randomly. I think i may do a bit of both, investigate first.

Yeah, Sling would be a great place while your ship builds up speed to go ahead and investigate and ask the space hands if there are any beasties out there worth noting.

Dude, this sounds awesome! Can Mace be involved in this? I'm thinking of taking any small, fast vessels the CH has available and on some random place of the planet, ready to take on the entire frickin' planet's government to put some decent law in place. Though I think I can also reduce the people's need for such a militaristic by taking out enough pirates that it they aren't as much of a problem.
What do you think I'd stand a better chance at doing? : P Fighting the pirates or the tyrants? Hey, that just about rhymed...

We talked about this on MSN: A) You're supposed to be neutral, B) Changing government's politics (especially of a massively important interstellar resource) is dangerous and difficult and not just some swashbuckling fantasy, C) Sling is no longer (the information is from FB) a pure tyranny. It is a formal democracy with increasing amounts of de facto democracy as well.
That doesn't mean there aren't any quests in or stemming from Sling...

Hmm, well if there are quests...Jerry, Brent, and Laura will use their communal teleportation to go to the capital, if that's possible.
