The DBZ World Tournament may not grant a wish nor be a sadistic hellhole run by egomaniacs, but it is a tournament no less, and god damn does Crashing Heavens excel at those. Registration, prelims, etc. can be done here.

Evan and Wyatt will register.

The two arrive at the Satan Complex. Because in DBZ Earth Hercule Satan has been the victor of the tournament six times in a row, the Complex is where the tournament has been held and it has been assumed that he will win every time. This is the 29th Tenkaichi Budokai. A group of thousands of prospective competitors are here, and even with the twenty lines with automated high-speed registration computers as well as the slight fee for distance registration, the lines are miles long.

Wyatt will whistle at the size of the line. "Well this may take some time." Evan nods.

After about ten minutes, Quion, Sarashito, Denios, Kumo, Krane, Anderson II, Kell-Jylar, Chael Kahal and Viktor Blackwing come up to the two in line. Sarashito says, "...What are you guys doing? We got you registered using remote registration like an hour ago."

OOG: do you actually have to be a martial artist to enter the tournament if not then cool
ashley shows up thinking "jesus this is going to take forever" when he sees the size of the line.

OOG: You ARE a martial artist, and no, you just need to be able to make it past the preliminaries.
Quion says, "That applies to you too, big guy."

Evan remains silent and looks at Wyatt, then back at the crew. Wyatt will give a semi-annoyed look "How curtious of you...Shall we?"

OOG: Courteous.
Sarashito says as she walks away (dressed formally in a black dress and heels), "Sure. The prelims this year seem to be a mix: They'll have a ki test then for those who qualify but don't get a bye they will have to qualify in the prelim tournament, which typically means getting a 4-2 record."
Denios smiles almost sinistrally. "Since they don't let you recuperate during the prelims inbetween fights, the fighting is likely to be very, very brutal."

Evan smiles "It'll be interesting to see how the use of energy drain spells will play part in those fights."

Krane smiles. "Fools practice idle Chi trickery to speak falsehood to the sensors of life. They are regularly eliminated."

(Can Mace, Laura, and Jerry participate in this?)

Mace looks at the massive lines, pulling his lips into a tight, thin line. "Poor bastards." Laura looks up at him and shrugs.
"At least we've already registered."
"Aye," Mace agrees. Jerry just stays quiet, which really makes Mace wonder if the guy ever talks beyond monosyllables.

The group receives transmitted data about the location of the ki detectors.

They measure your ki. The line there is somewhat less long because only pre-registered people are signing up for it. In front of them is someone that Mace can tell is a young kid with a dweomer that makes him seem old enough to be eligible, a man in a white gi with hair that looks like a saw blade jutting from his head, a Zengzi woman, and a tentacled creature in a massive body of debris and junk.

Mace's lips scrunch up into a thin line, kind of insulted, really, to have to deal with a kid, a guy with a ridiculus hair-do...and that was it. He's fine with everyone else, but keeps his eye on the kid. Great things come in small packages.
"You know, this could potentially turn out to be a great place for recruiting," Brent suggests, looking at the kid as well. "I suggest we go talk with these people."
"After we're done with the measuring. Then we'll talk with them. I have a feeling gi-man is going to be pretty scruff," Mace says.

The lines proceed constantly. Each person in turn walks into a circular bluish energy field that is around 20 feet tall and 15 feet in diameter. When they reach the center and stand still, during a period of around eight seconds, a brighter circle of blue reads them. Complex numbers display on a hidden monitor, which the group can perceive due to their amazing perceptions. The biggest number is a readout of their ki level in the manner of a Scouter, while others break down more minor factors. The first person who walks through, looking cocky and prepped beyond belief, hears a loud "BHAAAAN!" noise and is rejected. He loudly yells and curses, saying "Bullshit! Run this again!", but Hercule students move him along. The second, third and fourth receive the same treatment, reacting with varying degrees of grace.
Around 75% of those in front of Mace and the rest are eliminated entirely. 91% of the remainder (or 22.75) are sent to the preliminaries. Only 9% are cleared with a bye. The buzzsaw guy, the kid, and the Armored Slayer are all byed; the Zengzi is sent to prelims.
The moment of truth: Who goes into the machine first?

Mace will go in, Laura second, Jerry third, and before Brent goes, he'll flex his AP points into ki and go last.

Nekia will enter this with the permission of Vegeta sensei. Vegeta also left him with a special requirement for entering... he must win failure is not an option. Taking his words to heart Nekia enters the line to be ki tested confident that with the teachings of Vegeta he can pull off a victory despite any competition.

Mace steps into the blue first. Numbers stream into the billions, breaking Mace down. The machine seems to ascertain the results of his wish to be the Nexus, his training under Fred and as an Old Guard child, and his use of magic to artificially pump up his ki numbers. There is a pregnant moment of silence, then a slip prints. "Approved for a bye! Go to Staging Area One". Nekia is in the line behind Mace. While he waits, five more people enter the line. One is a giant, one is a humanoid porcupine, one is a anthropomorphic hadrosaur, one is a yellow bumpy-skinned almost frog-like alien and one is an obvious angel with a halo around his head and the body of a black man that is not a racist caricature ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) .

Since Nekia is next in line he will enter the chamber his aura wrapping around him gently until the device begins to scan him. Nekia will pump his ki to the minimal amount he thinks is necissary to get a bye but not showing his true strength. If it looks like he wont get through he will pump more and more ki.

Sorry. She'll walk into the blue circle, slightly jealous of Mace' acceptance, even though she hasn't been tested yet.

The circle swirls about her as well. These numbers are much lower, and she is concerned for a moment. The "Brrraang!" sound does not come, but the slip she gets says, "Approved for preliminaries! Head to Ring Four."
