Anyone connected to the criminal underworld can deliver packages (ala Transporter, but without a totally laughable premise). One must not look at the contents and be discrete, swift and private, also insuring the package's safe arrival with one's very life. Any takers?

Now: First order of business is your strategy for finding the jobs. The next is to determine what jobs you do. Sometimes the package ends up being slaves, or weapons designed to kill millions, or some such. If you have ethical objections to those, as I imagine Shae would, you would want to communicate that to employers.

Well, Fred, in order to get information about jobs, I would assume I use my black market to find out some stuffs. As far as what missions I won't accept: I feel inclined to tell all my possible emplyers that I do not deal with slaves, even though I AM from a portion of a nation that had slaves for decades. Also, genocide and mass-murder are out of the question for me, because... well, I just don't much like the prospect of killing tons of innocents.

Luckily enough, not only is business picking up quite satisfactorily at the market, but someone in fact responds to Shae's subtle inquiries on the topic. A coded message says, "Bring space-capable transportation to [coordinates included, somewhere in the middle of the American Midwest, somewhere on the boundary of nowhere]. There is a package - you will not be allowed to open the package, but reasonable scans will be allowed. We guarantee it is within your stated limits and have a third party statement to that effect."

Well, then. I guess I'll fly my Gundam out there, mutha.

While Shinkuu is space-capable, I don't quite know how fast it is... Then again, you are a natural Warp whore. But you may want an actual ship.

I don't think I have an actual ship. Could I make one?

Yes.

So what will the ship roughly do?

Warp Speed TENNNNNNN!!!

I was kidding. Warp speed travel, photon torpedoes... wait.. I wanna make the Slave XXVII.

...Right. So you're thinking a small, Mandalorian-themed ship, intense armament but somewhat poorly armored?

|
Post by draco on Feb 7, 2006 17:09:04 GMT -5
Not really. Again, I was joking. I actually don't know what I want, but I do think that having an Enterprise-themed ship would be pretty sweet. Something like the Excelsior, I think, would be way nice.

Okay, so something more extensive and large, with more defensive ability. It is a little conspicous for a courier mission, but then again, such a large ship would rarely be thought to be carrying anything (i.e. hide in plain sight), and would have many places to hide an object, for example in a holodeck. Will it have a cloaking device so it can get to the dropoff point without being noticed?

Definitely. I was definitely going for a more versatile ship, and I think a Federation-based ship would be really gnarly good.

All right, then. Shae lands at the coordinates. It is an empty corn field, obviously frequently used for this sort of encounter based on the numerous crop circles left behind. However, Shae's design neatly glides into the corn and moves not a blade. Two balls of shadow move towards Shae. One carries a large box. The other says, "This is the package. DO NOT open it for any reason. Store it in a safe, cool place and consider it to be highly fragile. You will do a package hop first to these coordinates."

Alright. Would a Geordi scan be allowable? If so, I'll do that, then go ahead and hop to the given coordinates.

No. No scans of the inside is allowed.
The man asks, "Where on board will you hide this cargo?"

Oh, shit. I forgot to mention I wanted it to be heavily modded for smuggling...

...So you then show them a secret compartment, perhaps that holodeck trick, and be done with it.

Shae takes them inside and shows all the areas where one can hide an object. They nod. "Are there any questions or statements of protocol before you leave?"

"No, sir," she salutes in old-school U.S. military fashion. "I'll take care of it and get it there on time and unharmed. You can count on me."

Jerry will take a mission. But he'll actually use his Yakuza contacts for jobs.

At the moment, there isn't anything really interesting among the Yakuza courier missions.
