Considering the Neuric Dominator's overwhelming intelligence, logical nature and psychic power, perhaps not.
Anyways, head out?

yeah head out, granted but if the creature is ruled by logic as you have so said, then perhaps a few more tricks are needed, oh and malefactor is coming too

The group is now within ten parsecs, or 32.6 lightyears, of the creature. This should be out of its dormant sensor range. [FN: ChimSens 90, False; Lck 108, False]. Now what?

algight, shi in first, run her on passive systems (if there are any) and on a direct course past the creature, no hostile intent, should it attack, then i pummel it

As Shi passes through the area, massive rocks begin to appear, space debris and comets of various kinds joining it.

"so it begins," Hack says barely above a whisper, his outs of Shi'Kairu moving out of the way were hopefully becoming a realitywhile he planned a technique borrowed from his sythe, the last time he used it it backfired, he hoped it wouldn't do so again, he was planning to use even this creatures own natural healing against it the bad reaction to simochi they called it,
Benefactor took aim, if hack was suce a weapon, fortunately his counterpart in the malefactor could attack anyway even without hack's assistance so if hack failed the creacessful hopefully his healing beam would soon becomture would only be half as lucky
Anduris prepared the black widow, this vehicle could tear itself apart if he accelerated too quickly, he hoped that the missiles Vincent kept loaded in this thing would be effective, otherwise he would merely serve as a distraction, not that tht was a problem for anduris, he just would prefer to be as helpful as possible
Victoria prepared in her brother's planetsized ship, she wondered if such size was really neccecary, knowing her brother everything about his ship was overklill as usual, not that she minded, it reminded her of her brother and that instantly eased her paranoia, she took her place at the controls and began preparing the ships systems, MAC guns first, then the Grappler arms, and finally the Bore Cannons, such a weapon was only concieveable by her brother she mused.
Zelen lay patiently in his control seat, truly ingenous was it's design, tapping in to the very mind of it's pilot, even though it took at least three to fully operate it, the giants were up to something as they always were, though now working together Zelen did not honestly believe that there was a force in the universe that could stop them once they got it in their heads to destroy something

Krane whispers, "A quest of cannibalism... I see that we are beginning to see the light of the Blood Mandala and of Mother Dark Gaia." Sarashito simply shivers, the blackness of the quasar contrasted with the red maser it emits clearly getting to her.
The rocks, not being propelled only drifting, serve no major deterrent to Hack. Hack is barely aware of some kind of ripple before a Time-Wake Missile smashes into Shi'Kairu's restraint armor. Following it is a mass purple cloud, which sensors on the Benefactor detect all of a sudden as spores. Shi'Kairu is damaged noticeably. [FN: 201/222, 174/276, SavThrow 288]
Hack can begin defensive manuevers against this new threat, which he still cannot detect directly, now.

The asteroids seem to part and even form a defensive screen for Shi as Hack rapidly spins the draconic entity about. However, the attacking ship is currently in his escape route. Hack fires by sheer instinct and strikes directly, but not before taking a crushing energy minigun blast, producing cutting beams of bluish light in a circular pattern.
Meanwhile, Anduris feels some great force exerting upon his powerful mind! Anduris' telepathic power is stretched to its limit, but he detects no malice. It is as if something is passively using his psychic power for energy, perhaps to buffer its willpower... [FN: RE 300].

OOG: I thought Zelen was near Anduris?
Now Zelen's anti-psychic power is similarly being hijacked! Zelen is now confused: Why would a being of psychic power drain... psychic energy?
"What <brik>uation?" There is substantial static in communications between Hack and the group.

OOG: Yes, but ALL of the ships except Shi are outside the field in roughly the same spot, right?

roughly, though with quite a bit of distance between them

OOG: Which'd mean that Anduris and Zelen would be equally vulnerable and I think Zelen could assist Anduris, unless they have something like 100 lightyears apart.

Rely on the clashing energies... Nice. Could work.
Krane laughs in her twittering way that indicates that she thinks that at least one person has demonstrated their foolishness. "And if this is not an attack but a cry for help?"

yes

As the barrier becomes created, Anduris and Zelen find their willpower and minor psychic energy not being drained. But as they do so, energy from the Dominator kicks up... and goes somewhere else. Apparently, a) it wasn't the Dominator that wasn't doing that, and b) their barrier is now awakening the Dominator.

Zelen and Anduris detected its energy... and now they detect its energy in around one hundred distinct points.
Now the asteroids no longer seem to be helping Hack. A shield withdraws from him, leaving both him and his unidentified foe open. It is Hack's actual turn now.
