Xeno says, "Yes, I imagine we all like to see something different. Me, I find it relatively banal. I find your world fascinating. Let's agree we'll do everything we can see to each other's worlds".

"Sure!" Sunmon says with a smile. Suddenly a blinding light flares up and Xeno hears "Sunmon digivolve to... Coronamon!" when he can see again Xeno sees that where Sunmon was before now stands a small orange Bipedal creature with a tuft of yellow hair on it's chest, a bracelet on each wrist and a circlet on it's head. Small flames emanate from the center of the circlet and the tip of it's tail.

Sam will pull him into her lap and smile as she sees the bright flash blinds her eyes, covering her eyes. "hey xeno, where did your digimon go?"

Xeno's face is rather less composed than he imagines it should be. "Ummmmmm... Hello, Sunmon? Coronamon? Instant evolution... Rather odd".

"Ah, yes." Isamu says "That's called Digivolution. Xeno your Sunmon was an in training level Digimon he's digivolved into his rookie form, Coronamon"

Xeno is even more inquisitive than last time. "Strange. I wonder how these creatures can evolve intrinsically, where the data comes from, what causes it, and how new creatures can emerge if the evolutions are endemic to the individual creature".

"Well you need to think of Digimon as what they are. Both Biological and Artificial at the same time, they are living programs when they evolve their program becomes more complex, when the time is right the Digitally evolve, or Digivolve, to their next form, what dictates that form is still a mystery to me however more often then not Digimon follow establishment lines of Evolution. Now as for where they get the data from it's the world here. The land, air, water, everything is made from data, even your own body when you are here. A digimon will gather these to add to their program when they Digivolve, now as you will be working in the real world your digimon will pull data through your Digivice that will act as a link to this world."

"Intriguing. It's evolutionary in the sense that it is based on changes to environment, but it is endemic to the organism. Do Digimon breed? Do their changes adapt? What are inter-species differences to Digimon? Are there even Digimon species?" Xeno is asking himself as much as anyone else.

"Well a Digimon's evolution is based on the need presented at the moment of the first Digivolution to that stage. For example when my DemiVeemon digivolved for the first time he could have become a Patamon, a Gabumon, a Salamon, or a Veemon. Since Veemon is what he needed to become to win that battle, now whenever he Digivolves to rookie it will always be Veemon. As for breeding they can but rarely do, normally when a Digimon is deleted it's data is recycled and is purified of any viruses or abnormalities that may have happened to their program and is recreated as a Digiegg to start life again. Memories normally do not survive the purging process but it has been known to happen from time to time. Now as for species not in the way that it works on earth, there are several kingdoms to which Digimon belong, Virus Busters, Nightmare Soldiers, Dragon's Roar, Nature Spirits, Deep Savers, Wind Guardians, Jungle Troopers, and Metal Empire which are Angelic, Demonic, Draconic, Beast, Aquatic, Avian, Insect and plant, and Mechanical respectively."

"Hmmmmmm. So strange that so many of the species are based off of our mythological understanding rather than a taxonomy. I wonder if the taxonomy is functional rather than anatomical, which may be problematic. In any instance, is there anything someone can do to make sure that a DigiMon evolves to an ideal form?"

"Nothing I've discovered." OOG: The encounter they will digivolve in will be specially made to get you the form that you told me you wanted

OOG: Makes sense.
Xeno shrugs. He doesn't even know how they Digivolve in the first place, nor what to. This is all so new that it makes it quite baffling to even arrive at fundamental principles. "Well, Sunmon, shall we continue training?"

"It's Coronamon now" he says crossing his arms behind his head "And yeah, lets get to it."

Xeno wonders how one can possibly relate to an organism that constantly changes, even in its underlying demeanor and intelligence. Then again, isn't that rather like children? "Good. Now, you've learned to conquer your fear of that which can reduce your flame... Time to surpass it entirely. I need a vacuum and liquid nitrogen".

"I'm afraid I can't do that, haven't programmed a Nitrogen sequence, and I'm guessing you don't mean a Vacuum cleaner."

Xeno sighs. "No, I meant something more akin to an artificial vacuum or a wind tunnel". Xeno thinks. "Could I get some snow and the airplane turbines?"

"That I can do. Datamon, I need some Snow and Airplane Turbines" Isamu says into his digivice. moments later the items appear

Xeno smiles. "All right, Coronamon. This will be rather harder. I need you to stand in the turbine as it makes a vacuum behind it, as I put snow through it, and keep your heat through both".

Coronamon nods his head sharply and says "Lets go!"

Xeno sets up the training, hoping that he doesn't unwittingly harm the creature. He sets everything up carefully, examining it by degrees.

Isamu helps Xeno set up the turbine, which comforts Xeno that Cornoamon can handle this.

Xeno waits to put the snow through the turbine. "First, we'll see how you can keep your flame in a vacuum".
|
|
|
Post by Scott Pilgrim on Dec 9, 2011 23:32:07 GMT -5
Coronamon stands behind the turbine as it starts up he grins slightly and clenches his fists as the vacuum starts to be formed Cronamon's look intensifies and his flame actually grows larger before the vacuum starts to make it grow slightly smaller. When Xeno puts in the snow the flame grows smaller still and Coronamon looks like he's in pain

Xeno says, "Just a little longer, Coronamon!" He finishes the snow then begins to turn off the turbine.

Coronamon stands in place as the turbine stops breathing heavily at the strain "No... Problem..." he says between breaths.

Xeno nods. "Good work. Now, I've been training your defense because that is the most obvious enemy tactic, but I need to see how you fight offensively".

Coronomon perks up at the idea "Alright, I'll show you what I've got!" by the time you turn around to ask Isamu for some training targets (because I doubt you'll be as dumb as Concussion lass) he already has four ready for you.

|

Xeno nods. "Now, Coronamon, with heat I think the most likely way to harm things is to focus it. So let's try to get a stream of flame as small as possible, and simply melt the smallest part of this target".
|
|
|
Post by Scott Pilgrim on Jan 15, 2012 21:17:25 GMT -5
"Ok, I'll try. Corona Flame!" Coronamon shoots a fireball at the target and burns a hole in the target, but much larger than you were looking for. OOG: you'll need to use a special training slot to teach him to do that, you'll get a special training slot after each mission. Also at this point you're ready for your first mission but James is woefully behind, so what do you want to do?

|

OOG: Do missions have to be done in conjunction? Based on Digimon World, some stuff could be going on that is easily solo.
