Ok, to replace Joe I'm throwing in an NPC who we'll just pretend has always been there. Harold (prefers to be called Hal) Prince, a Magician (slight of hand "magic" tricks) He is American, white, has brown hair combed back in a banker style. He wears a white button up shirt and a black vest with a rose Boutonniere on it. He has a Black Bowtie and black slacks along with a black belt and black dress shoes as well as wearing glasses. He seems a friendly and approachable person who can easily become someone's friend before they know it. As you both get back to Isamu at the hut you spot Hal walking over a hill carrying an egg of his own.

Fair enough.
Xeno is unsure of whether to ask about the egg: He is curious, but not overridingly so, and he wonders if it'd be a breach of etiquette. Instead, he asks, "Could you explain more about these eggs and these lifeforms, Mr. Isamu?"

"Just Isamu please, and of course I'll explain. What would you like to know?"

"Well, everything. Why these creatures all emerge from eggs, if they are all in fact reptilian, amphibian or icthyoidian, what their gestation periods are, how digital creatures evolve..."

Well to start they're not reptilian, to be technical they're not any type of creature defined by biology. They are digital and tend to mimic biological creatures. Take Veemon here, he has some features resembling reptiles, however he also has humanoid characteristics. They are they're own type of creature. As for why they emerge from eggs, well I really don't know. It's always been like that I've never thought to question it. They will hatch when the time is right for them. Now as for how they evolve, we've taken to calling it Digivolving. They add additional data to their own program to make it more complex and advanced. The levels of digimon from most basic to most complex is as follows. Fresh, In Training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega. You seem to be a endless fountain of questions, so what's next?"

Xeno finds himself fascinated. It does seem to make quite a bit of sense that digital creatures would have rules of life, gestation, evolution and taxonomy that would be almost entirely related to terrestrial creatures. A whole alien ecosystem, just beyond the glimpse of petty people who couldn't see the emerging complexity. He felt rather like Darwin on the Beagle, putting together a picture that would revolutionize how we viewed life.
"Hundreds of others, I imagine, but only one is truly salient: How do we get these Digimon to aid us in aiding you?"

Isamu smiles and says "That's the simplest of them all. Befriend them, train them, and cooperate with them in battle. They'll do the fighting you you need to guide them when you see things that they do not."

Xeno wonders. He had pets, of course: Pedigree cats, dogs, a tarantula, a snake, a turtle. Like all children, he loved them in his own way... But he recognized, now, that his bond with each of them had been shallow, instrumental. He had viewed them with a detached interest: Something to be taken care of, to be respected, but nothing deep. Now he faced the idea of forming a bond as deep as friendship with a creature he barely knew. Making the connection felt terrifying, in a sense. How was he going to form a relationship with a pet, or a fellow animal? Should he treat it as an equal, a partner, a subordinate, a pet? Should he be authoritative or compassionate? Xeno realized, in that moment, that while he was smart enough to understand people, he didn't especially like them. Aside from his two best friends, he rarely met anyone with a perspective on life he didn't find trivial, limited or even comical. If he couldn't relate to his own species, didn't it stand to reason that his chances of bonding with this creature were less than good?

"Well, any more questions?"

Xeno waves his hand, indicating that anyone else can ask a question. He'll discover what he needs to later, but he is fascinated.

"So what do now?" Hal asks "Now you take your egg and wait for it to hatch." Isamu replies "Raise them and train them. I'll be here when you're done."

Xeno raises an eyebrow. "Do we prompt their hatching through optimal temperature control and moistening, or massages, or gentle encouragement, or merely willing them to hatch?" There is a note of sarcasm in his voice.

"It kinda varies from egg to egg, never takes anything too special though, so no worries about that. Try rubbing it or something."

Xeno shrugs. He wishes he knew more about the rules of this world so he could actually operate sensibly. But this is apparently the time to throw reason out the window, as distasteful as that is. He rubs his egg and whispers, "I don't know what form will emerge from this egg, I don't know what you are inside, but know this: I will never abuse or harm you. We will protect people, together".

Xeno's egg becomes noticeably warmer and shakes slightly. Xeno feels a weight inside shift towards the top of the egg. Xeno somehow understands that whatever it is inside it wants up.

Xeno picks the egg up and gently lets it feel motion from side to side, holding the egg out straight.

As soon as Xeno extends his arms all of the way a crack appears in the egg and spreads across the length of it. The top is pushed off and Xeno sees a small creature that looks like a cartoon sun, complete with face, with a little flame on top.

Xeno wonders. I suppose it would be called 'cute'. Human perceptions of cuteness are connected to our notions of infantility. So this creature seems to be young, a cub-like baby. "What is your name?", he asks.

"Xenocratis Veneficium Secutor of the House of Namir. Xeno is fine". Xeno is curious: It already speaks? "You already seem quite fluent. Do you have a fully formed personality?"

(hey, im sorry, I had no idea that the game was back up and running or I would have been posting more)
Sam just cradled her egg in her arms as she listened to everything he had to say about the digimon and the eggs. she couldn't help but smile once she heard what xeno said to the egg and was even more surprised when the egg hatched, trying that herself to see if the egg would crack open or not and what lied inside of her own egg

What is Coronamon's response to Xeno's inquiry?

"Umm... well I don't really know. I was just born so maybe?" OOG: at this stage in their life they have what I call a "Blank slate" personality. As you influence them throughout this stage it will determine their personality from the rookie stage forward.

Xeno says, "I guess not. Well, Coronamon, I've never done this before, but I don't find it moral to take a creature that is apparently sentient and mold them to my will. We're partners, if you're willing".

OOG: Sorry, correct to Sunmon.
"Good. Now... I wonder how we train. I demand total fastidiousness from myself when we train, so I expect no less from you".
