Hello all!
My name is Colin and I have spoken to Fred about running Fantasy Flights WH40k Role Playing Games: Dark Heresy, and Rogue Trader.
I have been a fan of the WH40k universe since I was 11. I played the table top miniature battle game. That was back when the only races were the Imperial Guard, Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Space Orks, Eldar, Dark Eldar, and the Tyrannid.
I have also read a few of the novelizations centered around the Universe. Some of those being: the Eisenhorn books, the Ravenor Books, many of the Gaunts Ghost Novels, as well as an assortment of stand alone titles.
The Universe of the 41st Millennium is a dark place absorbed in never ending conflict, however life goes on in the Imperium of Man. In the Game of Dark Heresy, you take on the role of an Acolyte of the Inquisition. The hand in the shadows that weeds out the heresy and blasphemy on the home front. You have more power than many of the Nobility, however you are few and your enemies many. The tactics of cloak and dagger will see you through many adventures and secrecy will be your only ally. Will your ways tread the path of heresy all in the name of the God-Emperor, or will your steel resolve see you safely through the horrors of the Calixian Sector.
In Rogue Trader, you take on the role of a Star ship crew under the Command of a Rogue Trader(which is an available character class). You will travel the starts looking for riches however they come along, and you will also meet many alien and heretical species. Because of the Charter of Trade you hold and the ship you own, you have an unlimited amount of resources at your disposal ranging from; hundreds of armed guards ready to protect your interests; the limitless power of a star ship and the weaponry it carries; and your almost limitless wealth, buying items will rarely be a problem. Will the power consume you and take you down the dark side towards heresy? Or will your faith in the God Emperor keep you safe amongst the stars of the Kronus Expanse
I hope that this will peak the interest of some of the players on this board, and I actually hope to run to consecutive games between Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader with possible collaboration between the two parties;or even an investigation taken on by the Acolytes against a Heretical Rogue Trader and his crew.
