Combat is Fairly Simple in DH just as many other role playing games.
Step 1: Surprise Round
Step 2: Roll Initiative/Determine Initiative Order
Step 3: Character/NPC Turns
Step 4: Round Ends(Repeat steps 3-4 as needed)
Skills
Skills in Dark Heresy are based on a percentage roll, to accomplish a skill you will need to roll under the governing attribute.
Roll 2d10 for skills and using weapons.
Posting your response
When posting your response make sure it is detailed enough for me to understand as the GM. Proofreading a post can avoid many of the simple mistakes that can lead to misunderstandings. I do not require perfect grammar, so please do not worry about that.
This is not required; however, I would appreciate Dialogue broken up from the bulk of your post.
Example
Roth steps cautiously through the half open doorway lasgun raised in a ready position and says,
"Anyone there?"
This is not an exact format, using a format similar to books, for example, when they break up the dialogue will make following your reaction/post much easier.
I do hope to get the game started soon so please let me know in the ''whose playing'' thread If you are interested and we can get everyone started.
Finally in regards to the player response, I ask to have a few Just in Case(JIC) rolls in every post.
Give me a format similar to this.
ExampleInitiative: 7+3=10
JIC skill roll: 22
Now if you are actively using a skill just post your roll at the end of your post and everything should be fine. I do want to say that this is not required, and if it proves to be a hassle I wont ask of it at all. I do believe, however, that it will make the flow of the game much quicker.
