Joe is in Rifts Earth, beginning in Germany!
When we last left our heroes, they were trying to find a way to escape from Gargoyle territory...

yes, I think we left off by fighting off some Brodkil and Gurgoyles, I had staggered the gurgoyles by using heavy stun edge while my horse's guns hat little effect on the Brodkil,I believe it was there turn next.

Actually, you had used Holy Bolt. It was indeed their turn next, except for your tiger.

Oh yeah, sorry, I had forgotten, the tiger will bounce around from tree to tree in an effort to hurt the enemy the next chance it gets, focusing on the brodkil

And remember, the horse has independent action aside from the guns.
The tiger smashes down one Brodkil, growling loudly.

The horse does not have spells yet, but since it gets IP equal to 10% of your gained IP like a pet (plus upgrades as your Summon Warhorse power gets better) you can purchase them later. Kick the gurgoyle with the power armor or the one without?

the one without power armor.

The horse generates just barely enough damage due to its celestial nature to damage the gurgoyle, but the hit doesn't seem that damaging to the gurgoyle. This is because the gurgoyle is apparently wearing body armor, something that wasn't obvious until close inspection.
The gurgoyle with the power armor fires four mini-missiles at Joe! Joe can attempt to respond, but this will be difficult.

I'm going to try to use greed sever while chanting phantom swords in an attempt to cut the missiles off.

Trying to do both with missiles rocketing at you at dizzying speed is problematic. The lag time before the Greed Sever initiates (you leap forward with the blade only starting at the apex) and the additional lag time from the chant mean that Joe is struck by the first plasma missile. The Greed Sever and the chant take down two more but one swept in from the side. 71,208 damage is done to Joe's armor.
One of the brodkil fires a stun weapon. Luckily, Joe resists it. The other, though, fires an ion pistol at Joe's shoulder. The burst does 18,576 damage, for a total of 89,784.
The other gurgoyle blasts a plasma spear at Joe from the side, doing an additional 15,312 damage. This brings the total damage to 105,096.
(So far, the Vanguard has blocked none of the attacks).
The third brodkil sprays railgun fire everywhere. Though his spraying is going to occupy him for the next few attacks, he does 24,000 base damage, reduced to 21,000 by the Vanguard's blocking and thereafter to 9660 damage from the armor / Armor of God % and even further to 7500 damage from the Thresholds. That is 112,956 damage to Joe. Fred takes around 10,000 damage (he has x10 HP from being a supernatural creature but that still only leaves him with around 260,440 HP.
Fred says, "Get out of here! Your armor has like 1/3 of their HP totals!" The insect queen makes a massive dust cloud, allowing Fred and Joe to escape if they so please...
(Joe is too battered by the massive damage to act, but he can indicate a desire to retreat and have Fred grab him. The horse and the tiger can still act and took 15,000 damage each.)

Joseph is head strong and self-righteous, but not stupid, he will jump back on his horse and escape with the tiger and fred.

Fred grabs Joe and puts him on the horse. I assume the tiger will follow them?

Fred and Joe had escaped, and now Fred was filling Joe in on Rifts.
A Golden Age of man followed by a new Cold War between numerous nations: A South American bloc, the US Empire, China, even Russia, all battling each other. All over the world, the rise of Atlantis, global warming and other factors conspiring to raise the ocean and put numerous cities under. Manhattan now a sunken wasteland. Dinosaur Swamp in Florida. Native American tribes and bands of settlers in the West unwittingly playing out the frontier wars again. A fascist empire rising in Illinois and in the Midwest in general. Aliens, demons and magicians. A Magic Zone hidden in the woods. Psyscape, a city in the Astral Realm, battling demons and N'xla, the Harvester of Souls. Russia run by Warlords and a new Sovietski. Africa mostly returned to its primordial roots, with pygmy tribes, rain makers, and a new Egyptian-themed empire in the Middle East and North Africa. Tarnow, the Kingdom of Poland, unwittingly a pawn of an ancient intelligence through the foul alchemy of the Tarnow Stone. India overrun by ravanas and a Neuron Beast worshipping Devy'Orhal. Australia with near-totalitarian dystopian Tech Cities contrasted with a wilderness filled with scoundrels, scavengers and aboriginals. South America a continent at war, filled with alien invaders (the Arkhon), American soldiers and alien comrades stranded in a world they do not know (the Megaversal Legion), banana republics (Columbia, the Silver River Republics), a peaceful alien race of stone people (the Amaki of Neo Babylon), a vampire intelligence (Haktla, not to mention the Vampire Intelligences of Mexico), two cities of mutant animals (Omagua, the city of mutant cats, and the Achilles Republic, a more diverse group), a evil trader's outpost (Cibola, ruled by the Soul Worm Inix), voodoo practitioners in Bahai, and True Atlanteans in one of the last cities of their kind. Atlantis ruled by the Splugorth, a haven for monsters and demons and a horror for humans and fair humanoids. Canada a frozen wilderness, the Inuit people repopulated. Japan split between super-corporations, a republican democracy, a traditionalist feudal society and hordes of oni. And China a living hell on Earth, protected by a supernatural mist, where the era of high-flying wuxia masters is recreated alongside a city of descendants of modern Chinese. Stories of Victor Lazlo, Alistair Dunscon and so forth.
As Fred speaks, Joe becomes aware that one of the dark presences of the forest moves closer. Suddenly, a skull to his left begins to cackle and chant.
Worse, as Fred examines Joe, the toll of cloaking, running, flying and carrying around his osmium weights is taking its toll. Fred will be unable to much or fly much in this battle, if it comes to that: He may be able to use his energy cannon or minigun, but Joe can tell that otherwise Fred is at the end of his rope.
