It was one we added later, but simply put you use one particular blade as a focus and summon a storm of that particular blade, not a party friendly AOE though, they assaulted everything within a certain distance of the caster that was not the caster

All right. I figured it was something like that. (F2 version would probably be Hegemony of Blades, and Zenexoria might have an ability like it).
Hack launches a massive double critical at the target. The thing seems to be pacified for now.

alright that was fun....you said pacified not destroied

Yes. Viruses are rarely destroyed. Analyzingl, capturing/quaranting, etc. are usually better ideas.

analyze than capture, i got plans for this thing

Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 6, 2006 19:52:50 GMT -5
Hack is having difficulty analyzing, and the thing seems to be returning to power...

Post by Vincent Hack on Jun 8, 2006 17:57:06 GMT -5
is it captured at least I can take my time analyzing
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 8, 2006 18:50:34 GMT -5
No, it isn't captured, but Hack can attempt to get it so.

yes will do

How? Mystically, technologically, telemechanically, etc.?

Post by Vincent Hack on Jun 13, 2006 17:28:54 GMT -5
telemechanically
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 13, 2006 19:36:27 GMT -5
Bear in mind your low Psi Affinity... Still going to do it?

Post by Vincent Hack on Jun 14, 2006 17:52:52 GMT -5
perhaps technologically

There's a few options there: Quarantine, surround by firewalls to prevent transfer, "disarm" the program... etc.

I want construct a firewall enclosure as i intend to capture more
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 15, 2006 20:31:59 GMT -5
The firewall enclosure does keep it trapped. The virus attempts to smash through it, but the nice thing about Hack's style is that he is very good at fighting raw power. Now Hack has some time to analyze.

Post by Vincent Hack on Jun 16, 2006 18:18:20 GMT -5
yeah what does this thing do
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 17, 2006 5:46:02 GMT -5
The virus is of such inerrant complexity that Hack feels scarcely capable of comprehending it. All he can see is an information gathering function.

Post by Vincent Hack on Jun 23, 2006 14:38:43 GMT -5
hmm...interesting hope my firewall containment holds I intend to aquire a few more of difrent types
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 23, 2006 16:38:26 GMT -5
A few more what of different types? You have yet to completely breach this virus' data. Will you give it to someone to store?
Post by Vincent Hack on Jul 1, 2006 12:43:43 GMT -5
yeah wonder if some of the CH guys'll help out, then once we have a more permanent enclosure take some more time to analyze it
Hacks intentions are to create enough of a distraction by gathering as many different viruses as he can to assault the "front door" so to speak of a bank so that he has time to slip in the back "grab" as much cash as he can and slip bask out again

Sounds like a good idea to ask.
Remember: Theft, sort of not within the Ranger manual.

Post by Vincent Hack on Jul 10, 2006 16:01:00 GMT -5
and hack sort of don't care, you have to consider who he robs, i'll also be needing a bank that is known for laundering money
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jul 12, 2006 21:08:11 GMT -5
If he's ejected from Crashing Heavens, he loses diplomatic immunity and the police of the UEG would be after him very soon. Minutemen agents could get him arrested. Hack cannot take the police down, especially if his former comrades and the Stormguard are also dispatched to deal with him. There are situations where theft is okay in the charter, but Hack will have to be careful.

Post by Vincent Hack on Jul 19, 2006 18:39:38 GMT -5
ahh yes political manuvering, would they care if it wasn't a UEG bank
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jul 19, 2006 19:08:47 GMT -5
The Rangers and the UEG aren't associated. You might even be able to DO a UEG bank if you could find some justification for it, such as fraud, returning money or items, etc. More corrupt governments and corporations would be even more of open game, yes.

"as I said a bank that launders money, i should probably have ogee work on it while i collect more viruses"
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jul 26, 2006 17:47:22 GMT -5
Money laundering maybe, but there's also a sort of attempt within the Ranger manual to comply with the law enforcement of local societies and let them do what they want. Anyways, taking money that's been laundered isn't really that noble, since if it was acquired illegally it should be returned to its ostensibly rightful owners. Further, money has to be laundered for revolutionary outfits or other "illegal" but good things.
Hack doesn't know any such banks immediately: The last bank he was following leads on that Minutemen were laundering through is currently frozen pending a UEG investigation.
