Ok, in a palladium games you are required to roll 3d6 for each of the 8 attributes
I.Q. overall intelligence
M.E. mental endurance
M.A. 'charisma' your mental affinity, ability to charm not through looks
P.S. Strength
P.E. Endurcance
P.B. Physical Beauty, not to be confused with Charisma
P.P Physical Prowess, your body motor functions and dexterity
Spd. speed, how fast you run
Now i require for each character attribute rolled that you give me your base roll of the 8 3d6 rolls from invisible castle invisiblecastle.com/rolldice.py for example i roll my 8 3d6 for my nightbane character. invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=796697 note the 1's in my rolls, re roll any 1's until you get something higher than a 1, even if its a 2.
Now if by luck you roll a anything adding up to 16, 17, or 18, you get to roll 1 extra 1d6 for each stat. gaining a max of 24 for one attribute. There is a rule ive heard about that if you roll another 6 on that extra roll you can roll one last 1d6 gaining a max of 30, im not using this roll and anything higher will be bumped down. But that doesn't mean you are limited to a 24 skills give bonuses to your Physical attributes.
Now i do have a rule with skills, dont pick skills your character wouldn't know related to their history, if you lived in a crapshack your not gonna know how to pilot a tank. i dont care what kind of argument you give me im not allowing it
Assume your character is a high school student and a background is required, it helps to get a feel for your character. Dont include your character knowing about his nightbane form in the history/background, you wouldn't. Now if you have an idea for a character besides a high school kid, like a gang member or a janitor or in freds case a doctor, then by all means we will talk about it.
Another Example with skills, you aren't all going to have a gun skill, or a weapon proficiency with some weapon talk to me about that, otherwise assume those are somewhat off limits, Physical skills are fine by me..but just try to keep it from being an olympic athlete in everything, think of a character history, those skills involve continuous training, a batman character could take that, cause he trains everyday, if you take any one of those...which im thinking im going to limit physical skills to 2, you will have to train.
Now, try to do it to where your facade has to rely more on guile and hiding instead of almost being as powerful as your nightbane, your meant to become very powerful during the morphus state. So i think i will limit the physical skills to 2, 3 max. and even then think about whether or not your character is trained in these vigorous activities.
I know that nightbane is powerful, and a converted M.D.C. nightbane, is insane able to do 7d6 M.D.C. with a normal punch(or at least one of mine was able to) + any P.S. modifier you have and a possiblity of close to 200 MDC damage with power punches.
So again i know this is a powerful game, but i want you to assume a character with little knowledge of the power(talents are like second nature so dont try to not use them) So any nightbane character should have a fairly human like facade. of course you will be a cut above average, but put in your history WHY you are like that, why you trained where you got your skills, dont be a good kid with a good family and have pikc pocket, and streetwise.
and dont everybody take martial arts as a skill, sure i know kids with martial arts training, but just because you know someone who has taken a few classes, compare that to the one who is a black belt in any martial arts how many do you know who truly are martial arts students. I will allow hand to hand combat expert if you give me good reasoning.
Im not gonna be strict as hell and not let you do certain things if you can give me a good reason, the by all means ill allow it, i know kids have gun training and some are expert marskman, and i know kids who have weight training, and scuba training, but not everyone does.
On that note keep these in mind, and if you need any help with character creation PM me and i can help, if fred is up to it he can help too.
