All y'all had gotten the blessings of the Atlas Dragon (at a Forbidden level), the Zale Maymon (at a Forbidden level), and the Wyld (Legendary). Numerous other spirits should be communed with by the team and their blessings gained, as well as regular efforts to retain their blessings be made. The team was starting on getting the Falling Dragon's blessing. Other spirits are:
Impral Ortise Skyimsth Wuldrak Ortise Rising Dragon Storm Tiger Carrion Tiger
As well as common Native American and other animistic totems, such as:
Raven Crocodile Panther Coyote Whale Dolphin Cockroach Rat Spider Mole
Plus any other relevant spirit.

I'm game, Ill take my whole team in there, Until ever spirit you can list has bless them. I think for kicks I'd like to start with the first spirit in alphabetical order. The teams goal would to gain inner peace via self-reflection, random increases in powers, resistances....Umm...personally I always liked getting surprised when I earned something. So there goal is simply to complete the quest, and enjoy the spoils.

There are some logical limits to gaining the blessing of spirits: One can't spend infinite time in the Spirit Realms, some spirits are antagonistic to others so it requires higher skills to balance the contradiction, the spirits frown upon too much power gained too quickly, etc.
The team enters into a trance guided by Wyatt, who's obviously pretty good at all this. Flying as a group, their spirit bodies (composed of a combination of their astral self, animus, soul and physical remnants) fly through the painful barrier of cloud and shadow that covers the realms beyond human sight. Progressing from the Penumbra or the closest layers that are only slight modifications of the world, where ghosts lie, the team lands in the Spirit Realms. They are in the midst of a simply massive pagoda-like temple that stretches endlessly into the sky. Crashing Heavens' delible mark on the Spirit Realms is obvious.
So, you're going for... Carrion Tiger? Ant? Armadillo? Crocodile? What?

Not sure yet, reading what you have to say about contraditions etc..Im going to need to form a stratigy.
The spirits you listed in the opening forum, are they the main/only ones you'd recommend attempting, and if so, what do each give and which conflict with eachother. I'd like to optiumize this quest if at all possible.

And just to get things rolling, I suppose we'd start with the Storm Tiger, and move on from there.

Oh, no. There are at least 80 distinct totems I can think of in addition to the Dworl Maymon, plant spirits, even more alien spirits (such as bacteria), and entities of the Spirit Realm such as gods, elemental spirits, etc. For example: The Blyt-Dzrail.
Raven and Coyote are tricksters. Their relationship is so tendentious that they don't mind each other. Further, since tricksters tend to amass power, they really don't mind if you stick it to the rest of the spirits. Unfortunately, they're equally random about their gifts and how they give them.
Cockroach, Rat, Dog, Buffalo and other spirits are very friendly to humans or are very affiliated with humans. Other creatures don't especially like humans.
Going with your instincts usually should be fine.
The four begin to head towards a great storm in the distance. They begin to head into a great noxious swamp created by the constant rainfall and lightning. Jess, Jack and Wyatt begin to feel that something very dangerous is lurking in the swamp...

Wyatt will say "I know you guys can feel that...Evan...mind sharing your knowledge about this, seeing how your father has some intimate information about it?" Evan "I haven't got a clue what to expect. lets just keep pushing onward...by the way...feel what?" Evan continues onward.

The team's advanced warning seems to fail to save them, as the swamp itself surges and captures Wyatt, Jack and Jess in thick quicksand-like bog mass of mud and rotten matter. Evan ironically manages to avoid being trapped.

Evan "...well thats certainly an attractive look for all over, and quagmired up..." *snicker*
OOC: Can Evan sense if the swamp is intelligent?...Also...can evan physically get to the team? ie. pull them out? Or is magic or psi going to have to be involved?

|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 5, 2005 20:17:15 GMT -5
OOC: Evan doesn't know. Yes, he can physically get to them. But he might get sucked in too. The swamp is trying to rot them to death.
Will they do anything?

Yes of course. jess will throw up her reactive barrier, Jack will attempt to mutate his body into some sort of a swamp beast and get out, and wyatt will...teleport?

Jack mutates yet is still being rotted, Jess continues to get damaged, Wyatt succeeds but the creature rockets up again. Evan?

Evan will extend his barrier to block the beast from getting wyatt. and start using it to repulse the swamp away from jess and Jack

The barrier is poorly designed but has some force behind it. Evan has some more turn.

ok, with that he'll us tk to help pull them out physically, if that fails assisted teleport them out.

A reminder: Use magic too recklessly in the Spirit Realms and you attracat the attention of nasty shit. And since the whole place is magic....

and if THAT fails, I suppose ill just blast parts of the swamp away with an entropy cannon blast.

Fortunately, the telekinesis and teleportation succeed in their expected job; unfortunately, Evan did not heed the warnings, and now four black crows fly high above preparing to swoop down to attack. Meanwhile, the swamp surges...

hmm scratch that. Evan will wormhole vaccum the swamp around them out away from the team.

|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 18, 2005 17:43:46 GMT -5
Evan luckily has more turn. Unfortunately, the wormhole lets out, well, a gigantic Rotworm behind the team. Evan backs up into it, as does Wyatt, but Jess and Jack avoid it. Now both Evan and Wyatt are stuck inbetween a worm and a slimy place, with the swamp still trying to eat them.

|
|

Wyatt will pull out his excalibour and start hacking into the worm, Evan will join him wiht his pick. Jack will use his assassins rush technquie to backstab the worm, Jessica will use her chain and start whalin away as well. All while everyone keeps an eye on those birds.

Wyatt can't move. Neither can Evan.
The worm is practically torn asunder. It attempts to regenerate new, smaller worms, but the attack was so grievous the regeneration fails. Unfortunately for Jack, his arm is buried deep in the worm, and before he can pull it out surging rot gas covers him. He avoids any status effects... for now.
Meanwhile, the worm slithers past the chain strikes, even trying to redirect them to Jack; fortunately enough, it fails. Jess nonetheless misses. She has more turn. Wyatt and Evan can attempt something at least, though struggling is taking a good portion of their time.

Jack will either have his Symbi eat the gas, or Evan and Wyatt will both help Jack dispurse the gas. Jess will attempt for a better position with the team, and propare to attack, and defend.

Jack does so, leaving Evan and Wyatt some more turn. Jess repositions herself. She had a chance to hide to do so better, but a stray foot into a thick bogpit ends that.

Question, whats left to kill? And what positions are they in compaired to the team.

|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jan 4, 2006 19:57:51 GMT -5
The worm might or might not be dead, the swamp is not, neither are the crows. Positions are illusory: it's the Spirit Realm. Nonetheless, the most frequent positioning is Jack by the Rot Worm, Evan and Wyatt in tendrils moving close to the center of the swamp, Jess in a tree in her motion to keep an eye on the birds while fighting.

|
|

Jack will morph his blades together and turn it into a steriotypical dragon slayer spear, and start stabbing the shit out of the rot worm.
Evan and Wyatt will start hacking at the tendrils.
Jessica will use the no edge abilties of her chain and start swing at the tendrisl as well.

He does so, slicing the worm into pieces. He hears sounds of liquid and blood, but misses another important sound: that of new life. Suddenly a rush of small worms and a large worm (about 60% of the size of the original) come spewing out of the many wounds, covering Jack with no opportunity to dodge.
Evan and Wyatt cannot move, they can only use certain abilities.
Jess has no more turn at the moment.

Why can't Evan and Wyatt move?
Jack will look to evan and wyatt to help him and start trying to get them off and out of him.

Because they're trapped in the swamp. Flip back a few pages when you're confused.
Wyatt and Evan don't perceive the worms or Jack's desire, either.
