Could there be a cooler trainer than Fred? Good thing he isn't RPing as himself!!! ;D Fred starts out at the Viridian end of Victory Road, a peculiar Brown haired stranger with a Bulbasaur beside him walking around, gazing in wonder at the superstructure, but turning to see a trainer and a Gastly, looked down at the grass pokemon and sneered.
"So you're a Pokemon trainer eh? I'm Gary, the next pokemon master! You wanna duel me?" Gary said with a devilish grin.

Randy shrugged. "Whatever, shortstack. I hope you don't mind getting rocked." Inside her mind she considered: Lead with the tricky Gastly or the much more conventional Steelix? She smiled. Couldn't tip her hat just yet... Why not Steelix? "You're going to discover the true meaning of 'heavy metal'." She readied her Pokeball for the duel.

Gary smiled and commanded his Bulbasaur out onto the battlefield. The small green bulb of a pokemon looked brave and adamant, ready for everything.
Gary had never heard of a "Steel-type" Pokemon, because the pokemon were usually exclusive to the Johto Reigon, but he knew one thing; He was much better than Gramps thought, he had three pokemon on his belt to her two, and that put him at the advantage.
"I have no idea what you're thinking, lady, but my Bulbasaur isn't going to go easy on you!" He said.

"Tell me the last time grass grew on steel, dorkbag." The Steelix growls and rushes straight forward, suddenly turning and doing a sideswiping motion, using the blunt crests on its side to raise up dust to obscure the incoming tail strike.

Bulbasaur was knocked back by the massive tail swipe and struggled to get back up. "Bulbasaur! Ah.... Don't give up!" Gary said, flabbergasted at the tower of steel. Bulbasaur scrambled up the tower of steel, dodging the rotating segments and hopping into the beast's mouth. It gave out a triumphant cry as it exuded spores and poisonpowder within the beast.
"Bulbasaur!!!" Gary cried, reaching for the pokemon as if it would help him.

Steelix could not believe its luck. The stupid creature had come into the body of a steel monstrosity with grass? It simply considered attempting to swallow the Bulbasaur. Randy yelled out, "Don't kill it! Poison will affect you more than you think! Just bash your head around then spit it out and headbutt it!" The Steelix grudgingly proceeds to listen to its trainer, angered at the deprivation, using the shock of the sound inside its body to inflict a combination sonic roar/bashing attack (like being inside a jagged car and thrown around) then a finishing headbutt.

The psychotic Bulbasaur seemed to be crushed, but as Steelix rose it realized it had just ran into the ground headfirst for nothing. Bulbasaur had stabalized itself within the Tower of steels mouth with its vines. Taking it's chance, the bulbasaur leapt from Steelix's mouth, panting and coveredwith poison powder and stun spores, but sent its two vines, covered in poison from the turbulence within the small area and sent them as far down Steelix's gullet as it could.
Gary went through all his items and considered recalling his bulbasaur, but just stood there, shocked. The grass pokemon seemed to know what it was doing, so he just sat there, witnesing the second, and most impressive battle he'd ever seen.

Randy smiled. Never attach yourself to a Steelix. "Whiplash about!" The Steelix, angered yet obviously somewhat stunned, simply shakes as hard as it can, throwing the Bulbasaur high into the air, relying on the whiplash of the toss, then brings the creature down into the ground facefirst.

The bulbasaur smashed against the ground and didn't move. It didn't seem dead, but it was definately in need of treatment. Gary finally came to his senses and held out his poke ball. "Return Bulbasaur!" He said with as much courage as he could muster. He pulled another rapidly explanding ball from his waist, and tossed it. "Go! Growlithe!" He said a little shakily. The fire dog looked up at the steel colossus and whimpered, but stood timidly tall to the thing. "Ember, Growlithe!" Gary shouted, and the Growlithe obeyed, spewing lightly intense flame upon the Steelix.

Randy laughs. "Steelix are grown from years of pressure and heat, forged like a sword. The best you might be able to do is retemper him! Time to play your funeral dirge for the kitty." The Steelix uses the incoming heat and spreads the flame evenly across it by undulating forward, using its tines to distribute the heat, using the sizzling effect of the heat against the steel and the motion in the air to create a sound that it will use to destabilize the Growlithe, then it attempts to entangle the poor cat.

The growlithe jumps back, shakes its head, and suddenly blood dripped from it's ears. Gary looked on in shock. He recalled the pokemon, and his eyes ran to the top of his skull before he fell. "Bas....tard....."

...We were done with that and now I was getting into the woman's house to get coffee so I could explore the guy's property.

She could hear singing from inside, a beautiful melodic tone that was muffled by the window panes. Suddenly, an old woman walked past with a plate of coffee, humming nicely and turned to see her visitor. She opened the window with a smile. "Well Good morning, dear! Could you do me a favor and bring my husband his coffee? It's a bit too cold outside for these old bones" She said with a womanly laugh.

I smile and say, "Of course, ma'am!" Randy's a punk, but there's something about little old ladies with sunny dispositions that she can't be mean or rebellious to. She grabs the saucer and takes it to the man.

The old man smiles. "Thank you so much!" He exclaims as he gulps down the hot coffee. "I'm sorry, little one, I just can't get out of my grump without a cup of joe..." He said, looking to the horizon. "Please pass through, and take this." He said, handing her a small disk. "This disk contains TM51, a new one I got at Celadon City just a week ago. Something called heat wave. I'm not sure exactly what it does, but I got it for free, and now you will get it for free as well!" He said. "If you'll excuse me, I have matters to attend to." He siad, turning off on his old legs towards a gathering of Pallet townmembers.

Randy nods. "Thanks, sir!" Heat Wave, huh? Steelix could use this... She determined that at the moment TM 51 will not work for Steelix and moves into the wild Pokemon areas.

The woods past Viridian city are lush and bright. Many pokemon roam these grasslands, but nothing that would compliment a Steelix trainer. There are a few bugcatchers running about, netting their fill, but with a bit of coversion they could be avoided. The edge of the forest seems far away however the land is small and she can see it, the entrance to Pewter City in the distance.

OOG: Are there any Pidgey or Ratata? I think that a Flying and Normal could actually camoflage me pretty well and also compliment my Steelix. In addition, Nidoran Male or Female could make sense since I do a bit of Poison.
Randy heads to Pallet Town. She smiles, wondering if Professor Oak will be able to keep his mouth shut about her little secret...

(modification: you head to Pewter city) There are not many pokemon out that seem to compliment your part. Weedle, Caterpie, metapod, kakuna, wurmple, cascoon, silcoon, ledyba and spinarak, if you want a spinarak they evolve into ariados. Do yuo wish to be seen by the bug catchers? They are not really worth fighting...if not you make it out of the forest without a hitch

Randy smiles. "A spider... Great for my bad boy demeanor." She looks for a Spinarak.

There are many Spinarak within the darkness (rolls die) There is one within the trees that stikes as different, instead of green, the Spinarak is dark red, with fearful marks upon it's body. The problem is it is among the nest of other spinarak, so to reach it, Randy would need to personally traverse between the webs without disturbing the pokemon and somehow use a pokemon that could do the same, or the spiders will scatter.

How about an amazing fact: Ghosts are intangible. Throw out Gastly, have it bob between the webs, go to the special spider.

Hoping you'd catch on to that. Gastly and you weave through the webs, but by accident you nudge a web and a spinarak turns to you-resonding you realize to the tug of the web. If you move, yo umight be stuck to the web and alarm it further, but you are not in distance to throw a pokeball. You could just move, get stung and catch the red spinarak with a nasty bite.

Wait, I wanted to have only Gastly go and have Gastly lure the thing back with attacks.

If Gastly is the only one that attacks, the spinarak will run away. Also, within the webs, you can whisper quiet enough for gastly to hear and farther away and you might disturb them. Unfortunately, most pokemon games don't allow your pokemon to leave you.

All right, move. Randy will sacrifice that for her Pokemon training and her Gastly. She hopes she doesn't get bit, but if she must...

She gets bit, but the spinarak does little else. It sits on her shoulder, seemingly not interested in her anymore. The gastly approaches the red spinarak (now would be a good time to have it use destiny bond (keeps the red spinarak from fleeing) The other spinarak seem to stir, sensing the gastly but not seeing it. They are of no threat to gastly, since it is unable to recieve damage from physical attacks. The Spinarak on her shoulder moves to her back and stays there. Any attampts to reach back at it would most liekly result in another bite, much less the attention of the others, however it doesnt seem to be angered at the moment and doesnt encumber you at the least.

Gastly does so. Randy stays still, feeling the poison, while her Gastly advances to combat distance.

The red spinarak stirs, but Gastly has already used destiny bond and it falls to the floor of the forest, the red eyes considerably more evil looking due to the color change. It looks as if it is going to try to attack the etherial being. It cannot however escape. Also, the spinarak around you immediately scatter, save the one on your back.

Will the Gastly be able to fight without Randy's assistance if she has to remain immobile?
