Style Description: Yeah, some people are big on the projectile stuff. But other still prefer to specialize in the fine art of throwing the senbon, yet lack the patience to complete the medical studies that one would need to complete the use the potentially devastating abilities of the senbon on the human anatomy. This, then, is their tech tree. It effectively combines devastating attacks that target a single person and multiple targets to make the smallest combat weapon just as devestating as the mightiest cleaver sword.
Style Type: Ninjutsu
Availability: Universal
Stage One
Jutsu Name: Perfect Throw
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 2, Control 2
Jutsu Description: The most basic jutsu of the tree, it is not actually a jutsu in and of itself. It simply entails the ability to have 100% accuracy on a static target, and is a stepping stone to essentially all the other techniques. This is a prerequisite for any and all other techniques in this tree, so take it or die.
Jutsu Name: Multiple Toss
Jutsu Requirements: Tactics 3, Power 2
Jutsu Description: With this technique, the user is capable of hurling multiple senbon at a single target. The number of senbon throwable increase with each level. One senbon per the stage of the highest level technique learned per hand (to a maximum of five per hand--a net of ten) can be thrown with good accuracy, and up to twice this many can be thrown with extremely poor accuracy (thus, this is to a maximum of twenty). This may not be used with any techniques designated Senbon Ninpou unless it says otherwise in the technique's description.
Jutsu Name: Multiple Targets
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 3, Reserves 2
Jutsu Description: This technique is also not much of a jutsu, but a discipline that grows in power as the character's level increases. The user can effectively split the senbon they throw between a number of targets equal to the stage of the highest-level technique from this tree they know and still be fairly, dare I say, exceptionally accurate.
Jutsu Name: Chakra Threads
Jutsu Requirements: Willpower 3, Control 3
Jutsu Description: This technique allows the use to make threads out of chakra. This is used with many later-level techniques in this tree.
Jutsu Name: Kurinuku Senbon (Drilling Needle)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 4, Tactics 4
Jutsu Description: Upon tossing a needle, the user spins it just so that upon striking a foe, it drills further into their skin than a normal needle might, allowing it to deal a bit more damage.
Stage Two
Jutsu Name: Senbon Tsumugu (Senbon Spin)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 5, Tactics 4, Willpower 4
Jutsu Description: This technique essentially equates to an ability to throw a senbon in such a way that it twirls in flight and can cut almost as if it were a shuriken.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Enka (Needle Art: Beacon)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 5, Reserves 4, Control 4
Jutsu Description: Before throwing a needle, the user infuses chakra into it. The user can then sense where this needle is for a number of posts equal the their power. This is in turn used as the basis for some other techniques, such as...
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Karyuudo (Needle Art: Hunter)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 6, Tactics 6, Power 4
Jutsu Description: Basically, this technique allows one to throw a needle that will seek a beacon needle almost tirelessly. Unfortunately, it will not seek very intelligently. If the beacon's, say, in a person, and is pulled out, the tracking needle will go for it. If there's a tree between beacon and hunter, the hunter will try to go through the tree and fail. It also doesn't turn very fast.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Endan (Needle Art: Smoke Bomb)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 6, Control 5, Reserves 5
Jutsu Description: The user throws a needle. At some point, it explodes into smoke, replicating a smoke bomb. Easy. This may be used in conjunction with throwing multiple needles.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Kansen (Needle Art: Infection)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 7, Tactics 7, Power 6
Jutsu Description: Injuries caused by the Kansen technique cannot be healed by normal means. Use of chakra in the needle creates a wound that can only be healed with a medical-nin's treatment. Unfortunately, because needles do not cause very large wounds, this is usually not too crippling.
Stage Three
Jutsu Name: Happasenbon (Blasting Senbon)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 8, Tactics 8, Willpower 6
Jutsu Description: The user chucks a senbon that, when it reaches a certain point, explodes loudly. It produces little force, but the blast is loud enough to deafen unprotected ears for a post.
Jutsu Name: Chakra Sen (Chakra Wire)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 8, Control 6, Reserves 8, Chakra Thread
Jutsu Description: This allows the user to harden the strings of Chakra that they may create with the Chakra string technique, allowing for some potentially clever traps. This jutsu's uses, one will often find, are quite dependant on how clever the character is.
Jutsu Name: Bakuretsu Senpuku (Exploding Concealment)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 9, Tactics 9, Power 7
Jutsu Description: This technique entails the user having an ability to rapidly draw senbon from a concealed holester, say, up their sleeve, and hurl them out in the blink of an eye. This can be a very surprising attack, given that a) senbon are small, and several of them suddenly appearing may be too hard to spot until it's too late and b) it's a lot harder to see the weapons coming when there's no visible draw.
Jutsu Name: Chakra Kami Senbon (Chakra Hair Needles)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 9, Control 9, Reserves 7, a medium-length piece of hair
Jutsu Description: It may come sometimes that the senbon user runs out of weaponry to throw. This technique ameliorates that. The user takes one or two or a handful of hairs from their own head (yes, they have to be ripped or cut somehow) and infuses chakra into them, thickening them slightly and allowing them to essentially be thrown as senbon. This will not work with short or long hair--short hair is just not big enough to do any damage, long hair is too large to be aerodynamic.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Senbon no Fuka (Needle Art: The Needle's Burden)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 10, Tactics 10, Reserves 8
Jutsu Description: The user hurls a single senbon at a target limb, and upon it striking, it sticks coils around the limb. The ring now stuck into the target's hand seems to weigh more than it should, effectively putting a five pound weight on the target's arm. While not too much, this can add up quite rapidly.
Stage Four
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Senbonsaku (Needle Art: Needle Splitting)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 12, Tactics 11, Willpower 10, Power 12
Jutsu Description: Just before hurling out a volley of senbon, the shinobi places a bit of his chakra in each needle. When the senbon are thrown, making the handseal for this technique and calling out the technique's name makes the senbon split apart into many small pieces of metal--all generally so small that the senbon seem to explode into small clouds. Individually, one shard does minimal--borderline negligible--damage. However, considering that at this stage, the shinobi can put out quite a few senbon, this technique can do some pretty nasty damage. If the shinobi using this technique is particularly sadistic, he can wait for the senbon to strike his opponent before making them burst, inflicting likely even more damage. As said above, this may be used in conjunction with throwing multiple needles.
Jutsu Name: Chakra Kamisori Sen (Chakra Razor Wire)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 12, Control 11, Reserves 10, Intelligence 12, Chakra Wire
Jutsu Description: This now allows the user to sharpen threads created with the Chakra Thread technique and harden them. They will cut no more deeply than standard razor wire, and again, a clever roleplayer is a requisite of making the most of this jutsu.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Hensa (Needle Deflection)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 14, Tactics 13, Willpower 11, Control 10
Jutsu Description: The user is now so keen-eyed that they can target other projectiles in midair with their senbon and pretty much shoot them down. The user can now pretty much knock away any projectile smaller than a fuuma shuriken with a needle--however, they obviously cannot attack if they're deflecting another's projectiles.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Bakudan Senbon (Needle Art: Exploding Senbon)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 14, Control 13, Reserves 11, Tactics 10
Jutsu Description: Here's a pretty simple one. The user infuses a lot of chakra into a single senbon, lets it fly, and then it goes ka-bam, in a fiery explosion with just about the strength of an explosive tag. This CAN be used in conjunction with throwing multiple needles, but this uses substantial chakra, and such vollies can only be done a number of times per thread equal to the user's reserves divided by four.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Senbon no Uchuu (Needle Art: Shower of Needles)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 15, Control 15, Reserves 13, Intelligence 14
Jutsu Description: A technique somewhat based in genjutsu, in doing this technique, the user throws however many senbon they desire at the target, and then clasp their hands together and perform the genjutsu. Essentially, while the senbon are in midair, the unfortunate opponent perceives more senbon coming at them from whatever direction they decided to dodge to if they get the idea of jumping out of the way of the initial toss. And by more senbon, I mean a lot of senbon. Enough to dissuade most people from considering it safe to dodge.
Stage Five
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Torimaku Suzume (Needle Art: Circling Sparrow)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 17, Tactics 16, Willpower 16, Power 15
Jutsu Description: An incredibly tricky technique, the Circling Sparrow technique has played many an experienced shinobi for the fool. Essentially, the user throws two senbon at a target, typically throwing one in a very obvious and another in a very inconspicuous way. Some go with the typical hiding-in-the-shadow ploy, others use bells on the senbon meant to be obvious--it varies from user to user. Anyway. The target typically dodges the obvious senbon and is struck by the other. But their problems do not end there, as the obvious senbon will stop moving after it flies past and simply begin circling around the target. The senbon floats around the target for a number of posts equal to the user's Power divided by three, and darts in to strike the target every post autonomously. A number of senbon can be made to float around the target equal to the user's Control divided by five. These senbon do not orbit the target particularly quickly and, if struck, will have thier orbits ended prematurely--struck can mean pretty much anything from having a weapon thrown at it to just a sudden lunge to swat it out of the air.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Jinkei (Needle Art: Mercy)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 17, Control 16, Reserves 16, Intelligence 17
Jutsu Description: Occasionally, it may be that someone tries to escape a projectile specialist. This technique ensures that they will almost certainly fail. Upon throwing a needle, or a few needles, the needles immediately home in on a wound of the target's. These seek far more accurately than the Hunter needles of level 2. Some of the tricks (such as putting obstacles in between wound and needle) will still confuse them, but generally, the target will find their wounds only growing wider and wider, and their situation only growing grimmer and grimmer. As stated above, this may be used in conjunction with throwing multiple needles.
Jutsu Name: Chakra Sen Ami (Chakra Wire Net)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 18, Tactics 17, Willpower 17, Control 14, Any Chakra thread/wire technique
Jutsu Description: The user makes, essentially, a net of needles and chakra wires/threads. They then hurl it at an enemy, using the needles to pinion the net to something and the wires, obviously, to entrap. This technique lasts a number of posts equal to the user's reserves/4. The net can be broken out of by anyone whose strength exceeds the user's Power. However, if the Chakra Razor Wire is used, the act of breaking out of the net is extremely painful as all the little wires slice the skin. Even breaking out of less sharp nets can be somewhat painful, as anyone who's ever had ropeburn knows.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Ekitai Kinzoku Juuketsu (Needle Art: Liquid Metal Blood Congestion)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 18, Control 17, Reserves 17, Tactics 14
Jutsu Description: As per usual, the user chucks a needle at an opponent. Upon striking an opponent, the needle rapidly heats and melts. The presence of hot steel on one's arm and in one's wound is generally an extremely agonizing thing, and the pain that this technique causes is truly incredible. However, this is not the only danger of the technique. If the metal cools enough, it will enter a semi-solid (or at least very viscous) state in the wound, making blood circulation extremely difficult. In limbs, this will typically initiate a numbing sensation (and even potentially gangrene if left untreated for a while). If it hits the torso, it will frequently induce shortness of breathing. Regardless, without medical attention, this will make fighting difficult.
Jutsu Name: Senbonhikamawasu: Shogakusha (Senbon Guiding: Beginner)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 19, Control 18, Reserves 18, Intelligence 16
Jutsu Description: Before throwing a senbon, the user of this tree now pretty much always infuses it with a small mote of their chakra. This allows the user to slightly manipulate the senbon's path as it flies, allowing it to arc and turn at a rate of about 10 degrees per second at will, allowing for slight deviations in the flight path to avoid obstacles and strike targets. However, control over the needles cannot be maintained for a long time--no more than three posts. Also, this takes concentration, and the user cannot use other jutsu while performing this technique, though they can move and fight more or less normally.
Stage Six
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Nasakeshirazu Boufura (Needle Art: Pitiless Maggot)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 21, Tactics 20, Willpower 19, Power 17, Control 15
Jutsu Description: The user throws a senbon (as always). Upon striking the target, the senbon actively burrows through the target's flesh, seemingly taking on a mind of its own and making a beeline through the target's body for its heart. If the user's Power + Control is greater than the target's Stamina + Strength, the needle will make it to the target's heart within three posts, killing it within that time. If not, the needle will simply become embedded somewhere in the target's body--even if this does not kill, it will certainly make movement difficult. Rapid medical attention can remove the projectile from the unfortunate target. Because of the incredibly lethal nature of this attack, the target must grant consent to have it used on his character.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Chakra Kangoku (Needle Art: Chakra Prison)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 21, Control 20, Reserves 19, Intelligence 17, Tactics 15
Jutsu Description: Essentially, the user creates a fairly intricate net of threads and needles before throwing it at a target. Upon the needles striking around a target and generally binding him in the threads, the wires expand, essentially forming a shimmering barrier of Chakra around the target. The user then maintains control over the prison with a single chakra string, consistently feeding it a small amount of chakra to keep it operational. As long as he holds the string, the prison will last a number of posts equal to Power + Reserves divided by five. If the user releases the string, the prison lasts two posts before dissapating (unless it was on its last post, in which case its duration is not extended). Of course, if the thread is broken, the effect ends.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: In'intaru Nami (Needle Art: Booming Wave)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 23, Tactics 23, Willpower 22, Power 16, Reserves 15
Jutsu Description: With a quick flick of the wrist, the user throws a senbon incredibly quickly. The senbon is thrown with a high enough velocity to pierce more or less any armor, but this is not its real power. As the needle picks up speed, it grows nearer and nearer to the sound barrier. It pierces it just as it strikes the opponent, unleashing a small yet strong shockwave (about a 10 foot radius) that will probably blast the target to the ground (as well as knock back nearby friends), break bones in weaker targets (stamina equal to or less than user's power/1.5), and will induce deafness in nearby people for three posts.
Jutsu Name: Eye Flicker
Jutsu Requirements: Power 23, Control 23, Reserves 22, Tactics 16, Willpower 15
Jutsu Description: At the jounin level of combat, it generally becomes quite difficult for the slightly less physically adept jounin to fight incredibly quick taijutsu masters with finite projectiles. Thus was the Eye Flicker discipline created. The user of this technique focuses his own chakra to his eyes and blocks them, and then rapidly withdraws the blocking effect and repeating this extremely rapidly. This produces an effect much like a strobe light, making blurred motions appear more like frame-by-frame movement, and making it generally easier to assess where someone is attacking from. However, because of the rapid flickering, one will find a headache rapidly setting in when they use this discipline, not to mention the fact that it takes quite a degree of chakra control to maintain the effect. This technique may only be maintained safely for a duration equal to the user's stamina + control divided by eight. However, the headache gets absolutely splitting if the technique is used for any longer, and for every post beyond that, all of the user's mental statistics decrease by two until the end of the thread. If the Eye Flicker is maintained for a number of posts equal to stamina + control divided by four, the user immediately drops unconscious at the end of the final post.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Bakudan Hakyoku (Needle Art: Exploding Cataclysm)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 26, Tactics 25, Willpower 24, Power 19, Control 17, Senbon Ninpou: Senbonsaku, Senbon Ninpou: Bakudan Senbon
Jutsu Description: The user hurls a single needle, which then splits in midair into many fragments. However, unlike with the typical Senbonsaku, the shards do not continue flying in the direction of the needle from which they split. They all explode outwards. In turn, the needle fragments explode into small fireballs, each slightly less powerful than an explosive tag. While not easy to target, this technique can do a lot of damage over a large area.
Stage Seven
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Bakuhatsu no Ame (Needle Art: Rain of Explosions)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 30, Tactics 27, Willpower 26, Power 22, Control 20
Jutsu Description: Expanding further on the principle of blowing up needles, the Rain of Explosions technique is a devastating attack that turns a single needle into more or less the equivalent of a small bomb. The user hurls a single needle skyward, from where it bursts in a fairly pretty conflagration. From that conflagration hurtle fiery needles down to earth which, upon proximity to the ground, explode with the strength of an explosive tag. This technique drops enough needles to saturate an area of nearly a thirty-five-foot radius with explosions. Unfortunately, this makes it also very difficult to pinpoint a specific target with the attack, and good cover will pretty much protect someone from it.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Goman Kizu Tomurai (Needle Art: Fifty Thousand Wound Funeral)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 30, Control 27, Reserves 26, Intelligence 22, Tactics 20, Senbon Ninpou: Torimaku Suzume, Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu
Jutsu Description: Essentially, with one or more needles circling the target (following one or more uses of Torimaku Suzume), the user performs Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, duplicating the few senbon into quite a lot (not actually fifty thousand, but a lot). All these senbon immediately strike the target, who will, in absence of an extremely good defense or superhuman regeneration, be killed immediately. There will simply be too many punctures of vital organs for any survival to be possible. Permission to use this from the opponent is required.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Buatsui Sesshoumori (Needle Art: Grand Destructive Lance)
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 32, Tactics 30, Willpower 28, Power 24, Control 22
Jutsu Description: The user takes a single senbon and concentrates as they focus a large amount of chakra into it. And I do mean large; the user may not use jutsu or attack for three whole posts as they prepare this attack--they may only defend themselves. When the needle is finally thrown, it expands in size to more or less the size of a spear and flies with a horrific velocity towards the target. This incredible speed makes it a) really hard to dodge and b) really hot from all the air friction. But finally, when the target (or a hapless object, who knows?) is struck, they find that having an incredibly hot lance in their chest is not their only problem. Within one post of burning agony, the needle lets off a massive discharge of energy, sending out a burning wave of heat and light that blinds onlookers for three posts and probably inflicting third or fourth degree burns on anyone within fifteen feet. However, in a sadistic twist, the target is NOT burned by this heat. Once he (and ostensibly) his friends recover from their blindness, the debate of who's injured the worst and who gets the first medical attention will have to begin. This technique may only be used a number of times per thread equal to the user's reserves plus power divided by fifty, and after the last use, the user's chakra is so spent that they may use no more techniques for the rest of the thread.
Jutsu Name: Senbon Ninpou: Donshoku Boufura (Needle Art: Ravening Maggot)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 32, Control 30, Reserves 28, Intelligence 24, Tactics 22
Jutsu Description: A far faster-acting and more dangerous version of the Pitiless Maggot technique, this attack is the same in most regards. However, the main difference is that the needle only takes two posts to burrow to the heart here, and even more dangerously, when it kills someone, the needle leaps out of the body and repeats the process on the nearest person hostile to whoever first threw the senbon. The needle can jump from person to person a number of times equal to the thrower's power divided by ten or until it fails to reach a target's heart. Again, permission to use this technique is required from the targets.
Jutsu Name: Senbonhikimawasu: Tatsujin (Senbon Guiding: Master)
Jutsu Requirements: Power 35, Control 33, Reservers 31, Intelligence 26, Tactics 18, Senbonhikimawasu: Shogakusha
Jutsu Description: The ability of the shinobi to guide senbon by virtue of influencing them has reached a masterful level. With virtually a flick of the hand, a needle can be made to turn and move again within a post's duration. This is not the fullest extent of the control, however. One can so finely direct the needles they throw that after splitting a needle with Senbonsaku, they can actually guide the separate parts. This can be quite damaging, as ordering about small particles that may already be embedded in one's body to rip apart innards is not a very pleasant experience. The clouds of metal can also, in a pinch, be used to block attacks or generally whatever the user of this tree can think of.
Style Type: Ninjutsu

Jutsu Name: Perfect Throw
Jutsu Requirements: Intelligence 2, Control 2
Jutsu Description: The most basic jutsu of the tree, it is not actually a jutsu in and of itself.
