Description
This line of techniques is based upon what the original shinobi would have used. These are not element based, and are simple in nature, however their uses are still practical. The original shinobi were more bent upon escaping should they be engaged rather than actually engaging their enemies in combat, and as such many of these techniques are meant to be for use in the aid of escaping. There was also much spy work done by shinobi, and these techniques also reflect that job choice of old. Due to the universal nature of these techniques, they are available to all villages, but they are considered somewhat outdated and old. Those that study these tend to either be shunned, as they end up being used as spies and sneaks of both external and internal affairs.
Stage 1:
Requirements: Academy Level
Kagebuki no Jutsu (Shadow Weapons)
Requirements: Tactics 2, Reserves 2
Reaching into the ground and seeming to reach into his own shadow, (or any local shadow), the user seems to pull out various different weapons from nothing but the shadow alone. More weapons than should be possible, which is the point. The user makes simple shadow versions of weapons that look real enough, but when they make contact they disperse and the enemy doesn't even feel them. Normally used to throw many illusionary kunai or shuriken all at once to confuse the enemy into hiding, then running away in the confusion.
Nisekage no Jutsu (False Shadow)
Requirements: Intelligence 3, Control 2
The user manipulates a small area/corner of shadow to look like someone is hiding in that area of shadow. Not to be confused with Bunshin or anything like that, these do not move or anything of the sort. They are simply stationary targets used to confuse the enemy into thinking there is someone hiding in the shadows.
Utsusemi no Jutsu (Cast-Off)
Requirements: Tactics 3, Power 2
The ninja, upon seeing a blow coming towards his body, sheds a layer of clothes and falls away, leaving only the clothes behind to take the blow and to confuse an enemy as to where the user has gone. This is basically like a Kawarimi, but instead of replacing himself with something that's nearby, the user slides out of his jacket or shirt as the blow is coming towards him and falls to the ground backwards behind the shirt so the enemy can't see where the user is due to the shirt being in the way. Then the user can usually re-engage after that or run away.
Enran no Jutsu (Smoke Sight)
Requirements: Control 3, Willpower 3
Similar in shape and form to Kageran, this technique allows the user to charge a different flow of chakra to the back of his eyes in order to see through smokes, heavy mists, and fogs. Due to the fact that this skill takes a flow of chakra to the eyes similar to the Kageran, but different, it can't be used at the same time as the Kageran, only one or the other. The user will see as he normally would should the smoke not be there. So if it was a bright day and someone dropped a smoke bomb, the user's sight would not be impaired in the least. If it was night time, however, and someone dropped a smoke bomb, then the user would still be hampered by the darkness, but the smoke wouldn't be an issue.
Kageran no Jutsu (Shadow Sight)
Requirements: Control 4, Reserves 4
Allows the user to see in black and white at night time by concentrating chakra to the eyes. Requires a low amount of sustained chakra. Should not be confused with anything like Byakugan or Sharingan, as this does not widen the field of vision or allow you to see anything other than you normally would. All it does is allow the user to see at night, as if it were daytime, just not in color.
Stage 2:
Requirements: Basic Genin Stage, Two Techniques from Stage One
Bukigakure no Jutsu (Weapon Concealment)
Requirements: Tactics 5, Intelligence 4, Willpower 4
A basic technique for any shinobi out there, the Weapon Concealment technique is used for hiding weapons about your body and avoiding any 'hands on' or other methods of detection. Basically, charged chakra around the body helps to make your weapons feel or look as though they are a part of your body or an article of clothing. Pat down searches would reveal no weapons, and neither would a strip search. This technique, however, is non-combat, and the moment the shinobi enters into combat, all weapons can be seen or felt as they normally would.
Jaan no Jutsu (Boom)
Requirements: Control 5, Reserves 4, Power 4
Similar to the Hikarigatari no Jutsu, whenever the user wishes to use the Jaan no jutsu, he will gather chakra to his open hands, (rather than fists), for about ten seconds (or two posts), and then claps his open hands together, using the Chakra to amplify the sound enough to make a percussive blast that will dissorient the enemy. The area of effect is a full ten feet radius around the user. The time of effect is roughly the same as that of the Hikarigatari. (Flash -> Fully Disoriented -> 1/2 Disoriented -> Not Disoriented). After using this technique, the user's hands are rendered useless for as long as his enemy is disoriented, and he cannot form seals, making running one of the only options.
Otonai no Jutsu (No Sound)
Requirements: Tactics 6, Intelligence 6, Control 4
Focusing chakra to the bottoms of his feet, much like walking on water, the ninja can walk or run over any sort of surface using this chakra as a sort of cushion for his feet, allowing him to move without rustling over leaves or stepping on twigs. This Jutsu only masks the feet, and things that the user may step on. No other part of the body.
Hikarigatari no Jutsu (Light Blast)
Requirements: Control 6, Reserves 5, Intelligence 5
A technique used in order to help the shinobi escape, the user gathers chakra into his fists for a short length of time, (approximately ten seconds or two posts), and then the user turns to his target and claps his fists together, creating a brief, but temporarily blinding flash of light in the area in front of the user. The area of effect for this skill is a half circle in front of the user with a radius of ten feet. This blindness is of course merely temprorary, and is not meant to last long so the full effect is felt by the enemy only for one post, and drops by a half for each post after that. (Flash -> Fully Blind -> 1/2 Blind -> Not Blind). After using this technique, the user's hands are rendered useless for as long as his enemy is blind, and he cannot form seals, making running one of the only options.
Stage 3:
Requirements: Advanced Genin Stage, Two Techniques from Stage Two
Tookukiki no Jutsu (Distance Hearing)
Requirements: Tactics 8, Intelligence 8, Willpower 6
Using a taut string, (whether from a kunai in a tree, or simply tied around a tree), the user can hold the string up to his ear and hear what is occurring all along the string. He does this by feeding Chakra into the string and enhancing what he hears. Unfortunately that means all sounds are enhanced and what the user hears can be quite confused at times, but the shorter the string, the better this Jutsu works. When the user attains the rank of Jounin, he can use the skill and block out sounds that he doesn't want to hear to some extent, but not entirely.
Kiseisaku no Jutsu (Spirit Diminish)
Requirements: Control 8, Reserves 6, Power 8
By focusing chakra all around his body, the user can effectively dampen the light that he reflects to make himself harder to see. The user is far from invisible, but it helps him to blend in with his surroundings a little better, giving him an almost translucent appearance. In order to keep this state up, the user cannot move at high speeds, and must move fairly slowly, (a walk at the quickest), in order to maintain this. This Jutsu lasts as long as the user wishes to hold onto it, but it also makes using other techniques difficult, and more complex techniques (Stage 5 and up), nearly impossible. Upon achieving Stage 7, however, all Jutsus from Stages 1-5 are possible, but Jutsus from Stages 6 and 7 are not.
Kageochi no Jutsu (Shadow Drop)
Requirements: Tactics 9, Intelligence 9, Control 7
This skill must be done in the daytime when the user has a shadow. The user basically falls backwards or forwards into his shadow, and by focusing Chakra into the area of where his shadow is, he makes it appear as though he has just disappeared into his shadow. In actuality, the ninja has used his Chakra to make a shadow a few inches off the ground, enough for him to slide through and under the shadow. After this, the user will normally use one of his other techniques to disguise the fact that he is still in the area, (e.g. Henge, Kakuremino, etc.)
Shiawase na Kage (Happy Smoke)
Requirements: Control 9, Reserves 9, Intelligence 7
Perhaps one of the most misused of all the techniques of the Futoumeisei, the Happy Smoke is exactly what you think it is. It summons a cloud of smoke similar to Endate no Jutsu (Stage Five), but on a much smaller scale. Instead of a twenty foot radius, the Happy Smoke only engulfs a small five foot radius. The single effect of the smoke is to bring all those that breath it into a euphoric, (euphoric means happy, you illiterates), state so that they no longer want to fight. This includes the user. The only people this would not affect would be anyone wearing a Breathing Apparatus.
Stage 4:
Requirements: Basic Chuunin Stage, Two Techniques from Stage Three
Fujion no Jutsu (Self Silence)
Requirements: Tactics 12, Intelligence 11, Willpower 10, Control 12
The user creates a mold of Chakra around his body in order to dampen all sounds that he may produce. The user can still move fairly quickly, but due to the chakra control required for this Jutsu, he cannot use any other techniques while this one is enabled. Hand to hand combat is still a viable option, and also the preferred method of killing with this Jutsu.
Hikarijaan no Jutsu (Light Boom)
Requirements: Control 12, Reserves 11, Power 10, Tactics 12
The shinobi combines both the Hikarigatari and the Jaan techniques together, gathering seperate Chakras into each of his hands, one open fist, and one closed fist, and then claps them together over his head. This combines the effects of a bright flash of light, and a percussive sound to further disorient the enemy. The area of effect for both the light flash and the percussive blast are also increased in this technique to a 20 foot radius circle around the user. The effect also lasts a little bit longer, but not by much. (Flash -> Fully Disoriented and Blind -> 2/3 Disoriented and Blind -> 1/3 Disoriented and Blind -> Not Disoriented or Blind). After using this technique, the user's hands are rendered useless for two posts, or until the enemy is halfway back to orientation, so until then he cannot use seals.
Tsumisugi no Jutsu (Overload)
Requirements: Tactics 14, Intelligence 13, Willpower 11, Reserves 10
This technique allows the user to make all the colors of everything in the area around him more vibrant through a steady stream of Chakra exiting the body, effectively overloading his enemy's senses. What this allows for is the user to hide out in the open, and not be noticed due to the fact that his target(s) are more distracted by the extremely vibrant colors in the area rather than the dull look of the user. While attaining an effect similar to the Kiseisaku, this technique tends to work better in certain situations, but worse in others. Due to the constant emission of chakra, this technique can only be held for a maximum of five consecutive posts, and cannot be used for another five after that.
Hantoumei na Buki (Translucent Weapons)
Requirements: Control 14, Reserves 13, Power 11, Intelligence 10
Using a technique similar to the Kiseisaku no Jutsu, the user focuses Chakra around any of his weapons, (Kunai, Shuriken, Katana, anything), and dampens the reflection of light around his weapon. It does not make his weapon entirely transparent, but harder to see in general. It is hard to keep this Jutsu on the users' weapon while attacking, as it will be moving at quick speeds, so it takes some concentration and can only be used on one weapon at a time. (One Kunai, one Shuriken, one Katana, one anything, but not more than one at a time.)
Stage 5:
Requirements: Advanced Chuunin Stage, Two Techniques from Stage Four
Kiseionsaku no Jutsu (Sound and Spirit Diminish)
Requirements: Tactics 17, Intelligence 16, Willpower 16, Control 15
A combination of the Fujion and Kiseisaku techniques, the user molds the same type of Chakra around his body in order to dampen all the sounds that he may produce, while at the same time he is able to weave the threads that the Kiseisaku uses to diminish the light that he reflects. The user is still not completely transparent, and is still visible, however he is a little bit less visible than with the normal Kiseisaku technique. The user can also move somewhat more quickly with this new weave, (a jog at the most), but still cannot move at a full sprint. The user also must concentrate on holding this technique, so while this technique is in effect, the user cannot use any other Jutsus, but purely physical attacks that require no Chakra control are still eligible for use.
Endate no Jutsu (Smoke Shield)
Requirements: Control 17, Reserves 16, Power 16, Tactics 15
Gathering a large amount of Chakra into his hands, the user slams his hands into the ground, mimicking the many Doton techniques that require the connection with the earth, but instead of a wall of earth coming up to protect the shinobi, smoke hisses out of the Chakra that has been gathered to the hands of the user and creates a large field of smoke in the surrounding area. This smoke is by no means magical, nor does it hinder breathing in anyway. It is purely a sight hindrance. The amount of smoke depends on how much Chakra the user has gathered, and considering the fact that the smoke is nothing more than a sight hindrance, the smoke produced can possibly exceed the size of a small town, should the user have that much Chakra. The normal size of this shield, however, is approximately a circle with a radius of 20 feet. The smoke generally dissipates in five posts, this time is unaffected by how skillful the user is.
En no Jutsu (Smoke)
Requirements: Tactics 18, Intelligence 17, Willpower 17, Reserves 14
The user gathers chakra around his body, starting at his feet and going up his body, using the chakra to create a hazy, smoky appearance around his body. Generally used at night, this smoke distorts appearances making the user seem larger or smaller than he normally is, depending on what the user decides. This can make the user harder to see at night, but during the day it is much easier to mark him due to the hazy cloud emanating from around him.
Stage 6:
Requirements: Basic Jounin Stage, Two Techniques from Stage Five
Kamereon no Jutsu (Chameleon)
Requirements: Tactics 21, Intelligence 20, Willpower 19, Control 17, Reserves 15
Similar to the Kiseisaku. only much more powerful. This technique allows the user to actually modify his skin tone, (only lasts as long as the skill is held in effect), to blend in with his background. Much different from a Henge, this technique is harder to detect as the Chakra required to sustain this technique is much lower, but the control required is greater. The user can only move very slowly for this technique to be completely effective. This technique is accomplished by weaving a very tight-weaved net of chakra around the body, and knowing the standard colors of your surroundings well enough to blend your skin color in with it. It is very effective in barren landscapes where the colors are mostly the same and at night. The user can use other techniques while this is enabled, but the control required will only allow the user to use techniques from stages one and two of any tree. Since the weave only covers the skin, the user must actually not be wearing any clothing in order for this technique to work.
Dokumori no Jutsu (Poison Death)
Requirements: Control 21, Reserves 20, Power 19, Tactics 17, Intelligence 15
This technique is more of a preparation technique and cannot be performed in battle as it takes six posts to perform it. It is not a charging technique, however. Simply put the user must weave chakra around a weapon in a tight formation, and hold that chakra in place by keeping contact with the weapon the whole time. This chakra cannot be spread over more than one weapon. What the user binds onto his weapon is a simple but deadly poison, it is not fatal, however it attacks the central nervous system, and attempts to disrupt the targets ability to move for three subsequent posts. The poison is somewhat slow acting, however, in that it takes four posts to take effect. Once the poison has been used on someone, the chakra that is bound around the weapon will break apart and no longer be usable. This poison is very simple for most Medical-nins to disperse, and would normally be dispersable in a single post by a medical-nin of Chuunin standing.
Kageheri no Jutsu (Diminishing Shadow)
Requirements: Tactics 23, Intelligence 23, Willpower 22, Reserves 16, Power 15
A skill for use only at night or in dark places with many shadows. The user basically manipulates shadow, much like he does in the Nisekage technique, however the shadow has the ability to take form and become tangible in this instance. The user controls the shadow and uses it to attack an enemy. However, the shadow cannot do any real damage, as it is only used to confuse the enemy. Also, once a shadow has touched a target, it diminishes and disappears. The user can continue to create more and more shadows after the other diminish, but he can control no more than three seperate shadows at a time. The level of concentration in this Jutsu isn't as difficult as others, but only Jutsus from stages 1 through 4 maybe used while using this technique.
Stage 7:
Requirements: Advanced Jounin Stage, Two Techniques from Stage Six
Kagetegakari no Jutsu (Shadow Trace)
Requirements: Tactics 30, Intelligence 27, Willpower 26, Control 22, Reserves 20
A tracking technique that allows the user to transfer his shadow into that of a target person or animal using chakra. In order to transfer his shadow, the user must be close enough so that his shadow can touch that of his target's shadow. Once the shadow of the user has hidden itself inside of the target's shadow, the user can no longer use any techniques that may require his having a shadow. But in exchange for that, the user will know where the target is at any given point in time. This is not like a GPS tracking device, the user can simply feel the direction of his target, and depending on how hard the feeling is in his mind, he can tell where his target is. This technique will only last until the next sunrise, when new shadows are born, and can only be used on one target at a time. The user can also take his shadow back from the target if he gets close enough to touch his targets shadow with any part of his body. This will enable the user to use all of his normal skills that require him having a shadow.
Eikangoku no Jutsu (Shadow Prison)
Requirements: Control 30, Reserves 27, Power 26, Tactics 22, Intelligence 20
The user charges chakra to his hands and places them, (or thrusts them), against his target's chest open palmed. The user then releases the chakra that he has stored up into his hands and creates a spherical shadow around the target. The target cannot get out of the shadow, and no weapons can get into or out of this prison. This prison lasts for four posts, giving the user ample time to escape and hide from his target.
