Distant perceptions of running through elongated city streets, screaming and yelling, a man with a sword standing valiantly against a smiling shadow in an elongated apartment, a gleaming ice blade... All these images swirl in Fayt's helpless eyes.
No, his perceptions are now far more keenly somewhere else. A great black circular porthole, a window filled with arms and eyes and faces, set in the middle of a barren landscape inbetween home and hearth.

here again I wonder why, hasent this place tormented me enough anyway... fleeting images I wonder why I am here anyway they already took there prizes he holds up his fake arm looking at it intently havent they taken enough from me already why do they persist eventually they will take away all I have to give... do I even have anything anymore to lose do I, do I really....

Fayt will draw the laventine out of its sheath as he says "well here we go again just some more mindless shadows (he has fought normal shadows before but not 'these' particular ones)." he then waits for them to attack.

OOG: Remember, you don't know if I chose to go for that encounter  A similar looking blade is drawn from an opposing shadow that closely matches Fayt's build. Simultaneously, massive claws aggregate as if from nowhere, dark shadows forming in an energetic pattern, around the other. |

"what is this what did you do" he will say to the gate as he starts to warp alteration energy around is blade in preperation of shotgun blast as he waits for the two to attack.

The shadow with the claws screams in a perfect simulacrum of Schala's voice, "FAYT! YOU BASTARD! NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!" She rushes forward at high speeds, flame forming around him.
Meanwhile, the other Fate draws runes of chaos in the air...

Fayt successfully leaps away, the blazing field of fire passing inches from his face with the Laventine providing a partial shield. The runes of chaos make the flame and air explode, raising the rate of entropy and thus the rate of heat diffusion, blasting Fayt to the side with heat and explosive force. Fayt's speed does not wholly help him with the rolling. Fayt is dazed and can only prepare a defensive action.

Fayt will hold is sword in a defensive position as he holds his other hand out behind him then swinging it forward having the runes form around himself before casting healing on himself (as I assume the explosion damaged him) he will say aloud "what did you do to Schala gate."

Schala yells, "You have to ask?! You abandoned me for your testoserone-bullshit!" She is now rocketing to Fayt's left side, then his behind, her feet pneumatically carrying her across the landscape.
The runes put up by the other Fayt are inversion ones, changing the target of the firebolts and nothing else. They are now rocketing to Fayt.

"abandoned you what the hell are you talking about" he will say to schala. He will then wait until the firebolts are almost there then quickly dodge in there effort to get me they should colide into each other harmlessly. If he dodges then he will rush Fayt with the laventine once he reaches there he will attempt to perform stargazer on him.
OOG: that is actually how the firebolts are dodged since they home just for your info.

OOG: In Star Ocean, you dodge them that way? Since a) they might be on different trajectories and b) the bolts may not destroy each other. Two flames normally don't destroy each other.

OOG: the firebolts come from ones hand so they are useually same trajectories and when they hit each other they explode but they explosion is small and harmless to those who are not got in a direct hit.

It is theoretical anyways, as Fayt is struck by them, something about monitoring Schala's motion and the position making him unable to move effectively. Schala charges now from behind: Fayt has an opportunity to parry.

Fayt will attempt to parry the blow by knocking the limb to the side then he will make a downward slash at her hopefully exposed torso.

Luckily both of those go without a hitch. He even keeps his feet from the assault, not losing balance. Unfortunately, as he takes a beautiful swing, Schala ignites the air. Though Fayt strikes her anyways, harming her body, the explosion does throw him aside. He maintains his composure through the burning and is glad that he has a direct strike that staggers her.

Fayt tosses Schala into the air with his blade. His kick throws her higher, and as she falls, her claw faced forward... but is broken completely. Schala is now pinned to the ground, the shadow disappearing. Suddenly, Fayt is struck by a reactive force, guilt forming into a wave and crushing him into the ground. The shadowy version of himself walks up...

Schala... No what have I done this isnt happening this cant be happening....... she said I abandoned her now i understand what she meant... Schala im sorry I wasnt sure if it was really you I didnt know I... actually I dont know if thats you Fayt will try to twist his head and to look at his watch checking his heartbeat monitor and tracer of Schala to see if she is still alive if for some reason the watch doesnt work then he will try to use a crude of empaty that links two people as close Fayt and Schala are.
If it shows that she is alive then he will speak to the gate "nice try gate but your illusion was not enough I know what you mean now by abandoning her and I wont do it again" Fayt will get up still holding the laventine he will say to Fayt "You know I always hated people who hate themselves ive called them weak sad idiots but you know ive learned something today none of us are who we think we are, but I know that I am me not you and im going to prove it right now" Fayt will then charge forward lunging the laventine strait at shadow Fayt.

he points the laventine at Shadow Fayt and say "this is it" as he lunges forward to impale him with the laventine once he sticks the sword in he will jump, then kick off of the laventine sticking it in farther as he moves back he will then finish it by clapping his hands together bringing them over his head and back down again aiming the lightning bolt at the hilt of the laventine sticking out of his enimies body.

Amazingly, Fayt succeeds once more, his anger at this situation causing him to impale his shadowy foe then electrocute it. The shadow falls as well.
The Gate growls. "YOUR EASIEST CHALLENGE FACED. YOU MAY AWAKE, FAYT. YOU WILL BE BACK."
Fayt stands, seeing a massive smiling monstrosity. He may attack immediately.
