CotG Character Idea:
Name: Tazo
Race: Troll
Class: Chaos Archmage
Age: 80-130; He's unaware of his age in practical measurement terms
Primarily a wielder of fire, he's extensively adept at conjuring, controlling and manipulating flames. In addition, he's studied under many great masters of the arcane and shadow to fine tune his understanding and control of magic. He's capable of controlling shadow magics to nearly the same extent as fire, but chooses to use shadow magic mainly as a means to manipulate and toy with his adversaries. He's called a Chaos Archmage due to the extreme chaos and fear that ensues when he enters battle. Many landscapes have been left charred and decimated. It's believed that he gave himself the title.
His eyes glow green with magical energies.

I personally recommend developing the Irfry School skills, which would grant you friction control and aggravated wound knowledge, both of which would amplify your fire efficacy powers (basically, simply passively fighting would raise the heat at your disposal).
Siprt Limbce (5) - The Blado Randce shamanic class. In your case, getting affinities with spirits associated with fire and magic (including the ability to transform into them) would be good to get from this class.
Dragon Thief (10) - A very fun little class combining elements of Ninja, Thief and Mage. Dragon Thieves are a class designed to steal magical power at all costs. In your case, Dragon Thief broadens your spell-stealing, arcane control and siphoning potential.
Veneficium Secutor (10) - A battle magus class of rare variety and skill. I'd recommend DEFINITELY getting Ghost Flame Kata.
Martial Artist (10) - No duh. This Class signifies that you have a broad martial arts base. In Ta'zo's case, abilities should mostly have to do with ki control, energy consumption and defense.
Red Mage (10) - Another classic. Red Mage gives you healing and offensive magic plus middle-range weapon and armor skill. Use this to maximize your spell casting rate (since Red Mage gives that oh-so-coveted X-Magic) and just to get some FF-style utility spells.
White Witch (5) - If you've seen Charmed, that's all you need to know. If not, this has to do with traditional pagan magic and spells that can be cast for low cost with simple rhyming or poetic chants.

Shinigami (9) - You've seen Bleach. Shinigami abilities basically come in a few flavors. First is the stock abilities: Having a zanpakuto, being able to redeem Hollows and send them to their rest and processing, etc. Second is kido, undoubtedly Ta'zo's specialty: Spells of binding or destruction. Third is the swordsmanship/zanjutsu and manueverability tree, the skill Ichigo is best at: Using one's zanpakuto and its innate powers plus the flash step skills. Arcane Infernal: A unique ability, Tazo can conjure through pure arcane energy an Infernal, a cross between arcane and Twisting Nether power!
Arcane Retribution: Tazo concentrates on an incoming magical attack, feels the full force of the attack (taking full damage) and releases the attack's energy back at the caster in a chaotic manner.
