Silenti watches the Scarecrow as the group follows, often moving the visible muscles of her face by stretching her jaw out of habit.

OOG: Again, the Scarecrow is ONLY for Jose, none of the rest of you see him.

"they're repulsed when they see me, but then they love me when i heal 'em. what a world."
I keep moving up towards the briefing room. Are the others walking the same path as I. Do I see anyone walking in the same direction as I am (to rephrase).

(Life sucks and I want a refund!! And I could have sworn you said group--I guess he has his own group.)
...So minus the looking at Scarecrowness. She just moves her jaw as she walks to her destination.

Yes, Hrvoje, you now see Silenti, Jose, and Rholley. Rholley finds the room locked, standard practice of course. Biological clocks will open the door when the briefing begins. An attractive woman with some minor biological modifications strides calmly up to the group and yawns. "This better be worth it, I was having a dream where I blew up NEXUS and banged Ralph Bellamy."
The note that is given to Kameron is substantially longer than his comrades', saying (in essence) "Kameron of the House of Banis, your presence is respectfully requested twenty minutes from the time of this receipt. Godspeed." Nonetheless, it is an order, however politely phrased.

The woman seems to ignore him, tapping her foot rapidly and walking back and forth quickly. She smokes a cigarette all too quickly, lighting it by snapping her fingers, seeing José smoking as well and nodding to him.

Silenti ignores the woman, her lidless eyes remaining upon the door, her visible teeth gritting together.

Hrvoje asks when the doors are supposed to open, and if there is some free time will consider wandering a bit.

Kameron: Briefing Room Alpha.
Silenti and Hrvoje: The door opens. It is exceedingly dark inside, with a few glowing chairs highlighted.

I ask if Silenti would care to join me in sitting down in those chairs, and then proceeding with or without her.

The woman hurls herself over the seat from behind and settles up in it, though experiencing a bit of discomfort from a rough landing.

The one giving the briefing is an austere Roughneck, currently clad in semi-armored fatigues. His hair is in white wingtips. "Welcome, all of you. I hope you are all rested."

Rholley will calmly sit in a seat and pay some attention to his surroundings, but really, quite apathetic about everything this soon after waking up

Hrvoje wonders if "well rested" implies something difficult to come but manages to only slightly smile at the Roughneck.

The Roughneck nods, tapping a powerful bio-energy pistol nervously. "To business, then." An ancient projector, still usable because of its plastic parts and metal objects too small to trigger the nano-virus' touch receptors, propels electrons onto a white tarpaulin screen. "Your task is a rare one indeed: A rescue mission." A palled hush seems to settle over the room. The Machine doesn't take captives. So only one of three alternatives are remotely likely: One, rescue from bandits or a rival War Camp; two, retrieval from a war zone of a MIA soldier whose survival is dubious and whose chances dwindle with every second lost; or three, rescue from a rare Machine interrogation, which means NEXUS itself must be involved.

i think we aught to go after the rare machine interrogation... we'll probably find more information that way

OOG: It's not really your choice. I'm listing the alternatives that are occuring in your guys' heads, not what the mission will actually be.

The Roughneck turns to José, seeming to quietly in his muscular frame contain anger. "That idiot is a good friend of mine who saved thirty men single-handedly. No one saw him fall, so there is every reason to expect he is still alive in enemy territory."

Rholly will sit upright in his char and then lean forward saying, "when you say enemy territory, where is it? and who is the enemy?" he then leans back in his seat, waiting for the answer

A slide comes up of a large area. It is not quite satellite-quality photography, as the Machine controls almost all the satellites and has dominance in space. However, it is mostly top-down aerial, and has some color, as opposed to satellite imagery. To the northeast of the video is a large facility with no lighting. Tree cover intersperses the area as one moves down and to the left. A canyon with a creek running through it runs from southwest to northeast in the bottom right corner. "We call this The Three Bands. The trees, the destroyed factory and the creek each are narrow areas that reduce The Machine's manueverability. The best way to fight is to move from one of the bands to another, or plan ambushes with one group in one and another group as bait in another, and cut the NEXUS forces down. Problem is that they're getting better at using those creepy damn 'Borgs to beat us at our own game. The enemy is the Machine alone: No bandit will dare be in the area, and no War Camp fighting goes on here. Any questions so far?"

Rholly stands up, raises his arms and stretches, then looks right at the officer, "When do we leave?"
