Style Description: A defensive style of taijutsu and very potent as well. Much like the large trees that grow in grass and stand against all opposition, this style defines that spirit. Practitioners are able to take a multitude of attacks and to stand against them waiting for a moment to strike.
The training is long and grueling, quite possibly the hardest part of it is learning how to take as much blows as the style demands it. Masters of his style have been said to stop the simultaneous attack of 5 different men.
Style History: In the years of Kusagakure’s existence, the weakest aspect of its ninja was lack of a taijutsu style. This changed over three hundred years ago by a man by the name of Hanatsume Yashiro. The creation of this style came about after many battles from ninja of other countries.
Yashiro had examined each of their styles and started to find holes in it. He slowly started to see weaknesses in each of them. The weakness was the speed of their counter attacks and their resilience. From that point Yashiro started to try and create this now well known taijutsu style. He looked at his home land and saw something he never really saw before. The trees, no matter what happens they withstand and adapt, with solid roots and many branches for balance… it gave him an idea.
It had taken him about 10 years before his training had shown him any real results but once he saw the results he knew the path he had to follow. Yashiro’s body had changed over these years of training; he was a much larger man before this. Now his body was light and flexible, able to contort to shapes that would baffle all of his friends, yet his sudden rushing power was what created the greatest buzz.
The final piece of this taijutsu style was mastered when he had first tried it in battle. It was against another taijutsu specialist; though the style of said specialist is unknown the outcome of the battle is what mattered. Yashiro had come out of that battle without a single bruise or cut.
Yashiro had swerved away from blows, bent away from kicks and counter attacking certain joints. Slowly, patiently much like how trees grow, Yashiro had broken down his opponent to the point where the opponent was unable to even stand properly. Yashiro had then started to teach his style to genin he chose.
From these beginnings came the style of Grass, Fubatsu Ki.
Style Basis: Taijutsu
Training Methods: Training for this style is considered hell even for those who have mastered the style. Attaining the flexibility needed to master this style takes years, even if children have been taught it from a young age. Stretching and flexing for hours and hours on end, in positions that seem impossible for the human body are only the start of this styles training.
From that point on, developing the hand and leg strength for sudden quick strikes becomes most important. One spending hours punching, attempting to create a certain sound, the sound is that of a cracking whip. A young practitioner wears weights and punches for hours, kicks for twice as long in order to attain the speed needed.
The final piece of training is reflexes, which is much harder than it sounds. Masters spend hours, even days doing this training. they stand perfectly still and allow birds to rest on them. The master must stay perfectly still but if a bird tries to move, the master must move in order to keep the bird perched.
Stage One:
The beginner has just started to learn the power of his or her flexible body. No real true difference can be seen at this stage. The beginner is able to defend against attacks from other peers and depending on how bad the attack is a counter attack might be possible.
Also at this level the beginner starts to learn the power of one inch. This is the basic counter attack for the entire style, a small but very precise strike that easily stuns opponents. Fubatsu Ki’s offense is based on this, waiting for a precise moment than striking a soft part of the body. These strikes due to their nature are not normally painful, but due to all of the stretching exercises done, the Fubatsu Ki specialist can hit new openings that are virtually impossible to other styles. Joints, tender body parts are all prey to the Fubatsu Ki specialist.
Reflexes are also an important part of ones training. Many beginners are able to see attacks coming to them but they have yet to learn the movement needed to dodge them. Hence against elders or anyone more powerful than they are they tend to get hit easily in an attempt to dodge attacks.
Stat Requirements: Strength 5, Speed 3
Stage Bonus: Speed 3, Strength 3, Stamina 3
Stances:
None, Yet.
Regular Techniques:
Name: Ha Setsudanki (Leaf Cutter)
Description: A simple technique that involves the young student to step into his attacker and palm strike at his or her chest. This counter is mainly performed against punches and done as follows. If the enemy attacks with his right hand, you the student must place your right hand to defend where your enemy strikes. Now with that in place you ready your opposite hand to strike quickly.
Special Techniques:
Name: Kaze Nenten (Wind Twisting)
Description: This is the beginning of the special techniques of Fubatsu Ki, now it may seem odd naming it after wind but it has its purpose. The genin follows the attack of his enemies punch much like sailors follow the wind for better speed. This counter involves precise timing in order for it to be done properly, the genin allows his enemy to get in close and attack him or her. Now the genin in response begins to bend according to where he or she is being hit. The user follows through with this movement allowing him or her to suddenly be at their enemies blind spot for a precise counter attack.
~~~~
Stage Two:
The now genin is able to defend against incoming attacks more easily, he or she now slightly used to their bodies new found flexibility. Though there are still many pieces missing before they are to become a true force to be reckoned with. Other genin will become frustrated with them.
The genin is able to anticipate some attacks but swift ones still provide much of a problem. Though their speed with counter attacks are what improved the most. The genin can quickly snap though they might end up doing so prematurely.
Dodging speed has gotten overall a bit swifter due to the genin’s new adaptation. Being able to flex their body around with more ease turns them into a variable snake able to determine where attacks come from is still a bit of a problem. Though there have been some rare genin who can dodge up to two people with only moving their torso and knees due to their flexibility. Although in this situation counter attacks are impossible, not because of weakness but because of lack of knowledge and experience.
Now here in lies another new aspect of Fubatsu Ki, the dual stances. The Naegi stance which has now turned more offensive due to the chuunins new power, and the Kashiwa stance which provides an anchor incase the user intends to defend his friends.
Stat Requirements: Strength 8, Speed 6, Tactics 6
Stage Bonus: Strength 2, Speed 2
Stances:
Stance Name: Naegi (Sapling)
Stance Bonus: 5 Speed
Stance Description: The most basic of all the stances within the Fubatsu Ki style. This is what is normally practiced by shinobi up till chuunin rank. This stage is categorized by its slight speed and bold counter attacks to surprise its opponents. The stance is rather loose, where the genin’s arms are at his sides. The genin stands on the tips of his toes weaving to the left and right similar to a hypnotized snake. The weaving is for precise movement so that the genin is able to move away more easily than other styles.
Stance Name: Kashiwa (oak)
Stance Bonus: 5 Strength
Stance Description: The next stage of Fubatsu ki. After much difficult training, the body of the taijutsu specialist has now gained a rather rough exterior. Long hours of enduring painful stretching exercises and hours slowly toning muscles to stronger forms allows the chuunin to withstand a certain amount of pain that a genin could not.
Unlike the Naegi stance which flows freely through the wind, the Kashiwa or oak stance stands firmly against its enemies. This now offensive stance uses endurance and strength as its main weapons. Of course Fubatsu Ki specialists continue to learn more under the Naegi stance, many larger chuunin prefer this stance over its predecessor.
Regular Technique
Name: Shibu Kei (Branch Whip)
Description: The first instance where the practitioners speed is utilized. The genin throws a quick snapping punch. But unlike normal punches done with this style, this utilizes everything the genin has trained for. This punch creates a small snap that when the enemy is hit by it, it creates a small welt. Now what might seem like a small welt can develop into a problem. Precise attacks with this attack can slowly cripple an enemy, strikes to the eye quickly cause them to close, strikes to elbows and knees cause them to stiffen. The direct damage isn’t this attacks importance but rather how it slows down your opponent.
Special Technique:
Name: Kaze Panpan (Wind Slap)
Description: Though again not a direct hit but something that can cripple their enemies. This is a slap to the ear but the slap never actually hits the ear. It is the sudden rush of air into the ear that does the damage. This rushing air causes slight vertigo that allows the genin a better chance of striking their opponents. Although genin cannot perform this technique to Jounin as the force created by a genin is not enough to disturb a jounin’s trained body.
~~~
Stage Three:
The genin has reached a great new level of potential here. Their power has grown enough so that counter attacks can now cause unsuspecting genin to reel backwards in shock. Their blows across meaty areas can cause some minor bruising though what has truly improved is their ability to move.
The genin’s flexibility has reached its maximum for his or her growing body. The genin is able from a standing position to bend backwards enough so that their head and feet are on the ground. At this point the training for later abilities now becomes so that their muscles can maintain their weight.
Speedy attacks are now little problem for the genin unless the person is of higher rank. Genin practitioners now have enough experience to be able to stand still and dodge attacks from one attacker waiting for an opportune moment. Although from this position countering is difficult, in order to counter properly the genin needs to move with his feet as well.
Something else starts to take place at this level of ability, recklessness. The true key to becoming a specialist of Fubatsu Ki is recklessness, total lack for the well being of one self. Of course all of the training was headed towards making this point as easy to obtain as possible. But genin are now trained to not fear pain and to take any risk necessary for that one shot. If it means from a standing position to throw oneself backwards to rest all of his weight on his head to land a kick in the face so be it.
The attacks have also gained a new aspect, a unique sharpness that seems as if one is being hit with a whip.
Stat Requirements: Strength 12, Speed 8, Tactics 8
Stage Bonus: 2 Strength, 2 Speed
Stances:
Stance Name: Naegi (Sapling)
Stance Bonus: 5 speed
Stance Description: The most basic of all the stances within the Fubatsu Ki style. This is what is normally practiced by shinobi up till chuunin rank. This stage is categorized by its slight speed and bold counter attacks to surprise its opponents. The stance is rather loose, where the genin’s arms are at his sides. The genin stands on the tips of his toes weaving to the left and right similar to a hypnotized snake. The weaving is for precise movement so that the genin is able to move away more easily than other styles.
Stance Name: Kashiwa (oak)
Stance Bonus: 5 Strength
Stance Description: The next stage of Fubatsu ki. After much difficult training, the body of the taijutsu specialist has now gained a rather rough exterior. Long hours of enduring painful stretching exercises and hours slowly toning muscles to stronger forms allows the chuunin to withstand a certain amount of pain that a genin could not.
Unlike the Naegi stance which flows freely through the wind, the Kashiwa or oak stance stands firmly against its enemies. This now offensive stance uses endurance and strength as its main weapons. Of course Fubatsu Ki specialists continue to learn more under the Naegi stance, many larger chuunin prefer this stance over its predecessor.
Regular Techniques:
Name: Shibu Ashige (Branch Kick)
Description: At this level the genin’s new range of flexibility is put to the test. Normally the range of ones kick is dependent on height and leg length. That is the limitation of other styles, Fubatsu Ki though is different. Due to all of the frantic and endless stretching and flexing of the human body, the extension of the Fubatsu ki user is slightly longer than others. The stretch of the kick starts at the hip and continues stretching around the knee and ankles into a long toe kick. While the opposite leg is on its toes as well, this kick when precisely used allows the user to stop his or her enemy from a good distance and keep them at bay.
Special Techniques:
Name: Kaze Bakushin (Wind Dash)
Description: The genin’s speed has taken a point to where he or she can move in sudden bursts. This quick burst of speed is categorized by the same snapping sound that occurs when the Shibu Kei is performed. This quick burst of speed allows the genin to quickly move away from taijutsu attacks though ninjutsu attacks are a lot harder to dodge. (Can be done as follows: for every 4 stamina points it can be done 1 time, so if a genin has 8 stamina points he or she can do it two times)
~~~
Stage Four:
The chuunin has learned something new mixed with a bit of old which is the further advancements of the Kashiwa stance. Unlike the Naegi stance which emphasizes flexibility, the Kashiwa stance emphasizes stability. The Kashiwa stance is meant for the chuunin to endure damage done to him. This can be done properly by telegraphing attacks that head towards him and many other technical aspects which was not easily done at previous levels.
These aspects are learned through slow, tedious training that is an exploration through pain that drives some of its younger chuunin practitioners to a hiatus of practice. But for their dedication they learn to balance their body in such a way that force can be distributed through their body. This is done through the usage of the special technique Kashiwa Mitsudo (Oak Density), a special stance that causes even heavy weapon blows to spread instead of stick. The legs of the Fubatsu Ki specialist becomes his life line, the legs being the trunk of the human body, the legs become able to bend and recoil so that force can be distributed instead of settled.
The further training in the Kashiwa stance involves endless toning of muscles, the power of mind over matter to endure hours of training. An example of this training is as follows: the chuunin ties weights to his wrists and than extends his arms outwards. The chuunin proceeds to stay in this position for hours, even if his muscles scream he cannot let himself down. This training brings upon the ninja great physical power for not only attacking but defending as well.
Stat Requirements: Strength 18, Speed 15, Stamina 10, Tactics 14
Stage Bonus: 2 speed, 2 strength
Stances:
Stance Name: Naegi (Sapling)
Stance Bonus: 5 speed
Long hours of enduring painful stretching exercises and hours slowly toning muscles to stronger forms allows the chuunin to withstand a certain amount of pain that a genin could not.
Of course Fubatsu Ki specialists continue to learn more under the Naegi stance, many larger chuunin prefer this stance over its predecessor.
Regular Techniques:
Name: Miki Shishou (Trunk Stab) (Can only be performed in the Naegi stance)
Description: A relatively simple attack that can quickly turn the tide in any battle. The chuunin winds him or herself up and then unleashes himself, this resulting attack creates a sharp elbow strike that could easily break ribs of other chuunin. Though if the attack misses the chuunin is in a rather dangerous spot, unable to defend himself from the prone position he puts himself in.
Name: Kenrou Funsai (Solid Smashing)
Description: While in the Kashiwa stance, power prevails over everything else. Using ones flexibility and dodging ability to create massive amounts of force is the name of the game. This is an over hand blow but the force moves from the ankles all the way upward generating enough energy and power to crush most defenses. Though taijutsu specialists with power based taijutsu styles would laugh at this attack other styles would find it much more troublesome. A direct hit from this normally causes a concussion and if the person hit is rather weak it can render them unconscious.
Special Techniques:
Name: Kaze Benso (Wind Defense)
Requirements: Can only be performed in the Naegi stance
Description: By relaxing ones arms and keeping them loosened the chuunin is able to use his or her incredible flexibility to deflect an assortment of taijutsu attacks from all around him. This is an advanced form of the Shibu kei, the chuunin is able to defend attacks from his entire field of vision. Now weapon based attacks such as projectiles are very difficult to stop and ninjutsu cannot be stopped, genjutsu as well is out of the question. This attacks greatest power is its versatility, as it can defend against many taijutsu specialists at a time or it can slowly defeat one who enjoys pain.
Name: Kashiwa Mitsudo (Oak Density)
Description: With the use of some precise chakra the chuunin can use his body as a bell, this property is of course coupled with the right stance. This stance takes the shock from a blow by allowing ones chakra to act as a buffer, the body vibrates with the blow and the chakra reacts. The chakra sends the pain as a wave across the body instead of one solid blow. This allows the chuunin to withstand a straight blow from even power taijutsu specialists. The force is normally sent to the bottom of the feet while the rest is sent to joints with cartilage. The cartilage takes the blunt of this attack so doing this often will result in agonizing joint pains.
This cannot be done against power taijutsu specialists of jounin rank (unless the user is a jounin), their power is so great that it would by pass the defense set up by this attack.
~~~
Stage Five:
Fubatsu ki specialists are seen now as indispensable in the battlefield, their prowess in this taijutsu can single handedly able them to take on two or even three enemies at one time. Their bodies are now able to take more easily the tossing that they perform. Now this tossing involves throwing oneself around like a piece of garbage. The chuunin’s flexibility allows him or her to nearly twist themselves so that their back bends and their face meets their ankles.
The counter attacks of the Naegi stance have reached a point that causes severe bruising with every hit. Now due to the nature of this style every bruise slowly but surely weakens the enemy because the bruises hit precise areas of movement. If the user uses his or her legs, the Fubatsu ki specialist would have hit the calves, hamstrings or knees with quick strikes.
Now with the nearly learned Kashiwa stance, the chuunins proficiency allows him or her to take blows from other taijutsu specialists. Though using their body to take blows properly is the greatest point of growth so far. The chuunin has become adept and the sudden tightening of his body which helps decrease the pain one would receive from blows. This combined with good telegraphing normally sends the blows from genin into the useless pile.
Now the power of the Kashiwa stance allows the chuunin to stun some of their peers with their attacks. The strikes from the Kashiwa stance can blow away genin while chuunin if they are taijutsu specialists will have a bit of a problem. Nothing to great just taking to many blows would end up bruising ones arms due to the force created by the punches.
Stat Requirements: Strength 23, Speed 18, Stamina 15, Tactics 16

Name: Keiyou Wana (Fly Trap) (Can only be done in Naegi Stance)
Description: This attack involves using two body parts. If one uses the right leg one must use the left arm and vice versa. The attack starts with the kick that sends the enemy into the air, the arm then comes over head with a chopping blow that not only hits the enemy but sends him or her slamming onto the ground. Due to the Fubatsu Ki’s specialist amazing joint flexibility the fall after kick feels as if one is slamming onto concrete.
Name: Tsuiraku Kire (Falling Chop) (Can only be done in Kashiwa Stance)
Description: By creating a condensed movement, it can cause a rather tricky situation. Normally as seen throughout the style, movements are long and can some times be drawn out. But this attack calls an end to that; this attack is a swift two movement strike. First the body goes upward; the user staying on the toes of one foot, the body is positioned a little oddly though. The right arm is in the air bent at a 90 degree angle while the left hand is under the elbow. The other leg, the one in the air is bent; the next movement is when it all comes down. All the power the body can muster is sent to the users hand and crushes must guards and even does some damage. Power taijutsu specialists can block this still with ease.
Special Techniques
Name: Hageshii Kaze (Furious Wind)
Description: This counter attack is one of the most dangerous in the entire Fubatsu Ki’s specialist’s arsenal. The counter starts with the Fubatsu Ki specialist doing the Kaze Nenten (Wind Twisting) normally after the Kaze Nenten (Wind Twisting) one would do only one counter strike but now while the Fubatsu Ki Specialist is so deep inside his enemy’s territory while her the specialist unleashes a barrage of body attacks that would normally stop enemies from breathing. This barrage of whip like strikes centered on the stomach make breathing difficult for nearly any taijutsu specialist, battles are more difficult from this point on.
Name: Kyousei Kashiwa Hanpatsu (Great Oak Rebound)
Description: This difficult technique is something that baffles opponents when used. It looks identical to Kashiwa Mitsudo (Oak Density) but it is entirely different. When hit all of the force that normally goes through the body as in Kashiwa Mitsudo (Oak Density) is reflected back to the enemy most likely causing his or her arm to break or cause a dislocated shoulder.
This still does not work against power taijutsu styles but it can withstand them.
The training is long and grueling, quite possibly the hardest part of it is learning how to take as much blows as the style demands it. Masters of his style have been said to stop the simultaneous attack of 5 different men.

Stage Four:
The chuunin has learned something new mixed with a bit of old which is the further advancements of the Kashiwa stance. Unlike the Naegi stance which emphasizes flexibility, the Kashiwa stance emphasizes stability. The Kashiwa stance is meant for the chuunin to endure damage done to him. This can be done properly by telegraphing attacks that head towards him and many other technical aspects which was not easily done at previous levels.
These aspects are learned through slow, tedious training that is an exploration through pain that drives some of its younger chuunin practitioners to a hiatus of practice. But for their dedication they learn to balance their body in such a way that force can be distributed through their body. This is done through the usage of the special technique Kashiwa Mitsudo (Oak Density), a special stance that causes even heavy weapon blows to spread instead of stick. The legs of the Fubatsu Ki specialist becomes his life line, the legs being the trunk of the human body, the legs become able to bend and recoil so that force can be distributed instead of settled.
The further training in the Kashiwa stance involves endless toning of muscles, the power of mind over matter to endure hours of training. An example of this training is as follows: the chuunin ties weights to his wrists and than extends his arms outwards. The chuunin proceeds to stay in this position for hours, even if his muscles scream he cannot let himself down. This training brings upon the ninja great physical power for not only attacking but defending as well.
Stat Requirements: Strength 18, Speed 15, Stamina 10, Tactics 14

Name: Miki Shishou (Trunk Stab) (Can only be performed in the Naegi stance)
Description: A relatively simple attack that can quickly turn the tide in any battle. The chuunin winds him or herself up and then unleashes himself, this resulting attack creates a sharp elbow strike that could easily break ribs of other chuunin. Though if the attack misses the chuunin is in a rather dangerous spot, unable to defend himself from the prone position he puts himself in.
Name: Kenrou Funsai (Solid Smashing)
Description: While in the Kashiwa stance, power prevails over everything else. Using ones flexibility and dodging ability to create massive amounts of force is the name of the game. This is an over hand blow but the force moves from the ankles all the way upward generating enough energy and power to crush most defenses. Though taijutsu specialists with power based taijutsu styles would laugh at this attack other styles would find it much more troublesome. A direct hit from this normally causes a concussion and if the person hit is rather weak it can render them unconscious.
Special Techniques:
Name: Kaze Benso (Wind Defense)
Requirements: Can only be performed in the Naegi stance
Description: By relaxing ones arms and keeping them loosened the chuunin is able to use his or her incredible flexibility to deflect an assortment of taijutsu attacks from all around him. This is an advanced form of the Shibu kei, the chuunin is able to defend attacks from his entire field of vision. Now weapon based attacks such as projectiles are very difficult to stop and ninjutsu cannot be stopped, genjutsu as well is out of the question. This attacks greatest power is its versatility, as it can defend against many taijutsu specialists at a time or it can slowly defeat one who enjoys pain.
Name: Kashiwa Mitsudo (Oak Density)
Description: With the use of some precise chakra the chuunin can use his body as a bell, this property is of course coupled with the right stance. This stance takes the shock from a blow by allowing ones chakra to act as a buffer, the body vibrates with the blow and the chakra reacts. The chakra sends the pain as a wave across the body instead of one solid blow. This allows the chuunin to withstand a straight blow from even power taijutsu specialists. The force is normally sent to the bottom of the feet while the rest is sent to joints with cartilage. The cartilage takes the blunt of this attack so doing this often will result in agonizing joint pains.
This cannot be done against power taijutsu specialists of jounin rank (unless the user is a jounin), their power is so great that it would by pass the defense set up by this attack.

Of course Fubatsu Ki specialists continue to learn more under the Naegi stance, many larger chuunin prefer this stance over its predecessor.
