Note: FB will be somewhat like CotG in that, while any individual character can probably only be one place at one time, teams can spread out and handle different things at once, if people so choose.
So far, the hacker group that disarmed the United States for a brief moment has managed to remain completely underground, but our heroes have picked up some pieces of interesting information:
*The Nosferatu contact they worked with said to steer clear. This is a dangerous operation, and getting caught in the crossfire will be dangerous.
*The hackers are domestic. This is not an alien invasion. This is not to say there may not be some manner of alien backing, or alien members (there are confirmed supernatural members),
*The hackers must be relatively small of a group, but not so small as to be incapable of doing something. In all likelihood, 20-50 people total, counting various hangers-on and defensive personnel (mostly hired muscle).
*The Haitian and the Nosferatu contact both believe that the hackers are attempting to make a point of some kind.
*So far, this group has had no relation to any monetary loss. The news and Nosferatu, as well as the Haitian's assessment, make this highly plausible. This doesn't mean they don't support themselves with some stolen lucre, but the intent is not to be in it for the money, especially since the op is a very risky way of doing it and they lost their potential bargaining power anyways.
*The hackers CANNOT simultaneously shut down the entire country. Trojans, automated plans, viruses, DoSes, pingfloods, etc. were set up for months in advance. But something DID repair all their damage within a few minutes, bringing everything back up and locking them out instantly. Media coverage has been completely frozen on this topic.
*There is some association between US government secrets, especially supersoldier organizations, and the hackers. This is based on the testimony of the Nosferatu and is therefore up to debate, but is plausible and fits with the rest of the data.
