Jutsus and Techniques
tree1: Gouken-fu (Iron Fist Style)
Stage Three
Here is where things begin to take a larger turn for the better in the art of Gouken. At this point the user is more aware of their strength and speed, able to determine their opponent’s physical endurance simply through observation. After calculating this, they are then able to formulate a standard of battle in which they can either end a fight quickly through their now noteworthy speed, or they can reserve their attacks and simply delay an opponent’s movements.
Here the emphasis is placed on lower body attacks ranging from short, blunt knee attacks, to wide, arcing leg sweeps. The infamous stance wherein the user places one hand behind their back to provoke or taunt an opponent takes precedence here, leaving more room for the aforementioned use of the lower body. Speed and power are beginning to take greater form as well, the ability to render a person’s body broken and mangled within a few moments entirely possible.
But still we do not see the devastation truly capable of Gouken users, only the prelude.
tree2: The Celestial Gates
Kai-Mon (Initial Gate)
Requirements: Stamina 4, Strength 4
Opening the Kai-Mon will remove the brain’s built-in inhibitors that prevent the body’s muscles from exerting their full force. These inhibitors, however, are in place for good reason. They also prevent the musceles from literally tearing themselves apart through overuse. However, there may come a time when a person is willing to risk their body for some cause, and the temporary increase in power that comes as a result of full use of the muscles may be their only option.
Kyu-Mon (Heal Gate)
Requirements: Stamina 8, Strength 6, Willpower 6
The Kyu-Mon is an important part of the gates, as it helps in the user’s tolerance of gate use. When this gate is opened, it forcibly restores a great deal of the user’s stamina. This ability chiefly comes into play later, as the user’s body becomes more accustomed to opening gates. The Kyu-mon helps to ease the burden that other gates place on the body.
tree3: Katon Ninjutsu
Katon: Ichi (Fire Element: One)
Type: Ninjutsu
Requirements: Power 4, Control 4
Description: The basic building block of a great many techniques down the line, this is presumably the very same skill that began the study of Katons. Molding their chakra through a simple seal of any choice, the user is able to focus it onto the tip of their index finger in the form of heat. With this, they can cut through things such as glass and rope with some difficulty. However, at this stage, control of one’s chakra is so minimal that this technique can only be used by one finger and essentially has no combat use.
Katon: Ni (Fire Element: Two)
Type: Ninjutsu
Requirements: Katon: Ichi; Power 7, Control 7, Intelligence 6
Description: This technique makes it so that after a user has molded enough chakra to gather heat into their finger they can now distribute it to both the index and middle finger (one hand), making it a somewhat viable option in combat now. However, jabs and strikes made through this method would simply burn through clothing and wouldn’t cause any substantial burns.
Katon Ryuuka no Jutsu (Fire Element: Dragon Fire Technique)
Type: Ninjutsu
Requirements: Power 8, Control 8, Reserves 6
Description: A jutsu that sends a stream of fire towards the opponent, originating from the users mouth. In some cases it has been seen to take on the form of a dragon. Capable of being used like a flamethrower, prolonged exposure has been known to transform boulders and cliff side’s into molten piles of magma.
Note: Genin can use the technique for up to two posts, Chuunin for three, and Jounin for five. As mentioned before, strength of the flame and prolonged exposure can prove devastating.
tree4: Leaf Ninjutsu
Hakagami no Jutsu (Leaf Mirror Technique)
Requirements: Tactics=3, Reserves=3
Description: By concentrating a small amount of chakra onto a leaf, the user is able to turn it into a reflective surface making it useful for spying, planning an attack, or defending against an attack as well.
Konoha Bunshin no Jutsu (Leaf Clone Technique)
Requirments: Tactics=5, Intelligence=4, Willpower=4
Description: In the same vein of the Leaf Shuriken, chakra is used to fuse large amounts of leaves into a single functional clone. Rather useless in attacking, it is used mainly as a distraction or shield. For every 5 Reservess, two clones can be made.
tree5: Leaf Genjutsu
Etainoshirenai no Tacchi (Touch of the Unfamiliar)
Type: Genjutsu
Requirements: Intelligence 4, Tactics 4
Description: This jutsu, by its name alone, obviously takes into account a person’s sense of touch. Much unlike the rest of these jutsu, this one is activated once a person touches a particular object that the user has ‘charmed’. It can be as obvious as a kunai being sent at an opponent from any distance, or even the leaves of a tree. In short, what it does is it makes the user question whether or not the particular item existed or not. So if a person were to be stabbed with a kunai, they would seem to not feel the pain of the kunai, but would realize it much later since the effect of the jutsu is quite short. In the example of leaves, a person could pass through a veil of leaves and only have their other four senses to rely on as to whether or not those leaves even truly existed, causing a very distinct sense of confusion.
Genjutsu Kai (Release)
Requirements: Willpower 8, Intelligence 6, Tactics 8
Special: Requires at least three genjutsu or ninjutsu techniques (Academy/Universal Skills count in both requirements). This skill is also not available at character creation for Genin unless they are of the Genjutsu Specialist archetype.
Description: A jutsu that destroys/cancels out an illusionary jutsu attempted on the user once it is recognized as an illusion.
