Accually he'd just reached the bottom of the well full of what could only be described as blue goo. That reacted negatively to magic, and some tech. Once you and the team had reached the bottom you found a big teleportation pad. It activated upon touch and the goo seem to have lifted off of it. If i remember correctly the team suddenly got paniced because they wouldn't get away from it if they wanted to and it was charging to open the portal.

"Come on, you idiots! We're scientists! We explore! Let's find out what's happening here!" Fonnie steps closer to the pad to observe.

One of the members screams "Its going to fucking open! Only two of these portals have known destinations!" The team begins to panic the same scientist speaks panicly "We need to get out of here." One of the scientists flings his briefcase of equiptment upward and it slams into the barrier and opens and the group is showered with broken technology. Action

Save.
Fonnie continues to head into the portal. After all, this is his job.

This is a no save junction, as your going to be swallowed by the portal anyways.
The portal opens and the team falls in, unfortenately the two men near the edge clawing at the barrier are rended and ripped apart by the edge of the energy field of the portal, everyone else is sucked in, as you travel its like a network of tunnels branching off this way and that, you see one guy fly off to your left down a tunnel, another flys off above you, while the rest of the team all fly off into the same tunnel together and appear on a very sunny rather warm planet. The sky is a soft pastel green, your on top of a hill and for miles all you see is farmland, forests, and mountains. The man next to you has broken is leg upon impact of falling out of the portal(he was old.)

Fonnie will turn to that guy and use what resources he has on him to make a sling, saying, "Ah, good. So: Do we know how to access a return portal?" He looks about the idyllic landscape more closely, attempting to document where they were, where the landmarks are and the direction-finding mechanisms (things like the position of the sun).

One of the other scientists has a palm pilot out and seems to be doing calculations. The man that was panicked "We've never accessed one before. That one just started working....I don't think we even know how to use or formulate a targeting system for these portals. The scripture on them is only tenth deciphered." Fonnie notices a group of workers in a field nearby but down below stop working and head towards you, they have elongated human torsos, with double and reverse jointed legs, four of them, and they have extremely long arms. There faces are dull. There are approximately 12 of them coming over. Most are carrying farming equipment. The one doing calculations frowns "We're on Bleehd II...." a warm gust of wind blows by making you want to take off your bio hazard suits. The scientist your helping whispers to you "We need to get off this rock, the bleehd planets are forbidden worlds to all whom are not native." Action.

The scientist rips his biohazard head piece off and looks really worried "We're fucked. The soil itself will tell them were we are. I think it'd be best to either take them out or give ourselves up." Two of the other scientists whom looked alittle TOO soldierly to be hardcore scientists push a button on there briefcases and the metal casing falls away revieling what looks like an elite high tech mp5.

The two men look at eachother then at you, the man on the left says"Shut your mouth right now if you want to keep it." The on to your right says "As your superior officer I am taking control of this mission we are leaving." The two men begin to move into the trees.

The team seems to be moving into the trees and out of the valley. But the two scientists with the guns are staying a bit farther back making sure if the creatures decide to call for back up or anything begins chasing you, they'll meet it first. So in essence your plan but under arm guard.

The team runs as if they were a cross country team trying to place for a metal. You and the team reach the ridge of the valley wall only to see a grand canyon view on the otherside, rolling valleys as far as the eye can see, more farms, more fields but a small town way off in the distance to the left about a mile away. Then you see something hit a man, you think the tree did it, and it must have done it hard as the man is on the ground and he isn't moving.

The bark explodes and the tree acts as a tree but then you feel a tingle on your skin, the tingle you get when someone is using magic near by and out of the corner of your eye you see another tree moving, its difficult for you to understand this magic as you are a technowizard, and its very specilized magic. But you get the mental image that someone or something is animating these trees to be a puppet for them like a living extention of themselves.

Fonnie nods. He looks as surreptitiously yet quickly as he can all around the forest, floating above the trees if he can do so without attracting attention. He says to the others, "There is someone controlling these trees. Find him and kill him."

The scientists open fire, and the creature is...hit by atleast two rounds. It falls to the ground writhing. Your bolt hit it in the leg as it fell to the ground. Its body looks slender, and ultra smooth, almost shinny. HIs arms and legs are very long, like a stick bug. It screaming REALLY loud.
