All right. Holding it back.
Benefactor's sensor sweeps don't pick anything up either.

hardly suprising, considering if it was a fortress like i'd discribed it would be invisible to all but the most powerful detection, but perhaps crash fox would be willing to help, anduris is talking to her

Well, not really, most fortresses are going to be in public view since you generally WANT people to know that you have something there. But this one is probably shielded.
How would Crash Fox help?

check computer records, Almost everywhere, just in case it is possible that the fortress is not in this universe

You mean, this dimension? It's probably here. It wouldn't be outside of the universe because that is a practical impossibility.
Computer records once Mac has done a search find that the Renn-Mitte did indeed create a research fortress to test a variety of projects and then for unknown reasons sealed it in hyperspace. Unfortunately, that doesn't tell HOW to get past the lock.

any one got an improbability drive

Improbability drives are old hat and there'll probably be a probability repellant. Good idea, though.

yeah, bistromathic perhaps

Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Nov 19, 2006 5:44:49 GMT -5
Oddly enough, Bistomathic calculation may just be effective in this case.

SWEET!!!!! lets fire up that bistromathic drive, lemme just find where i put it

You can probably get the Benefactor modified fairly easily to function as a Bistromath.

okay now who would be willing to do that

Any of the mechanics on the team. Handyman would love it.

okay taklinn is gonna go talk to him, as it is taklinns ship that we're screwing with "handyman, you anygood with bistromathics"
|

|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 30, 2006 18:48:44 GMT -5
Handyman laughs. "I can handle any form of computational system, indeed am authoring a paper with the assistance of Tyrant upon calculation based on the sale of illegal narcotics and the unique math behind such transactions."

"Nice"Taklinn is clearly amused "any way the reason i bring up bistromathics is because i need a bistromathic drive for the benefactor"

"to find a fortress guarding singularity weapons"

"Hmmmm... So it will need to be modified for penetration... Will you return here or will I need to do long distance work?"

Reappearing in the lab, robot drones and powerful undead immediately begin to assemble and calculate. Handyman considers. "The Bistromath must be added to the engine. We can tear it out and put it in or try to add it in from the inside. The Benefactor is a legendary ship, I would hate to harm it..." Handyman seems to be trying to rush through this, like asking Taklinn what to do with his own ship is a horrible imposition. His floating skull-shaped Brainessences indicate his complex undead/fae/troll nature.

Handyman moves quite quickly in installion. He calls back. "Would you like any upgrades? Or a simultaneous alteration to Malefactor?" By the tone of his voice and the image on the visiscreen, it's pretty clear that he has installed the penetration-specialized Bistromath.
