Amdalus says, "Well, the point of me doing the base damage firebreath spread was to get a ubiquitous baseline."
Laura says, "Well, if you need to deal with trajectories, I can lay down a nice rate of fire from different angles..."

Evan smiles "Well I believe thats something for both of you two, too work out, while i just stand hear and attempt to dode this shit and not to too hurt...and Laura...try not to shot me in the face...or else you'll be taking care of me in the infirmory." he winks.

Amdalus says, "What will you be attempting first?"

Evan thinks for a moment, "Haven't we already created a list and a data table? I'd hope we have, and since...we better have I better start at the top of it...and since your the data recorder, you tell me what im doing first."

"I have an automated computer ready. And this is your experiment, my good sir. We're beginning, I believe, with my flame spread: I guess this would be you without any defenses at all?"

Evan nods in agreement, and takes the flame like a man.

Amdalus begins to scream, a horrifically painful transformation overtaking him. His skin hardens from its soft almost egg-shell like texture and sheen into black, his legs are overwhelmed by a black tower of energy as he becomes colossal, and the negativity in the area becomes simply shivering. His body soon can scarcely fit in the lab, as it spatially adjusts... then again, then again. His draconic body coils as black pillars of light erupt all around, and the ground below seems like a mirror; indeed, the real power of his body seems to be reflected in that below. The Falling Dragon. He breathes a constant flame of the Four Affinities in pure negative form.
The computer automatically records the damage. "Next?", his voice rumbles.

Evan thinks "Projectiles, lets go with solids first. Then we'll go with energies..."

Laura says, "Well, shouldn't you try all your other defenses with this first?"
Evan is discovering that he has an interesting bipolar defense: half of his nature is a good basic logarithmic defense reducer, another is a threshold.

Logarithimic defense reducer? so what it reduces damage, or does it reduce the defense of the target...or in lay mans terms what exactly does it do?

A logarithm is the inverse of an expontential: log base 10 of 100 is 2, because 10^2 is 100. Now, the interesting thing about a logarithmic scale is that it increases more slowly as the numbers get higher. Take decibels. 50 decibels is 1/100th the volume of 70 decibels.

Oh ok, so its my damage resistance, and its incredible. So I want to manipulate my Log to lower the damage so my threshold can bounce or roll it off me.

And how would you do this?

Im not sure, he'll turn to Tyrant "How does it work? can I active my bodies properties....I don't understand the bipolar system..."

"Neither do I, Evan. Your entropy reduces the damage logarithmically by taking a certain degree out of each incoming attack. Apparently, your first universe defense manifests as a all-or-nothing threshold."

Evan frowns "Well thats useful...meaning i can't roll attacks off me then. Its either going to bounce off me like a super ball againest a brick wall or like im being hit by something really gooy and things will just get messy..."

|

"That doesn't follow. You see, your threshold would often lower the incoming attacks to the point where no damage was done whatsoever. The threshold itself, operating entropically, I theorize would reduce the energy of the attack and prevent its bouncing, and your geometry can be altered to make it simply crumble into you. And the chaos effects of battle and your other decisions and defenses alter things as well, providing a variety of thresholds and protections."

Evan nods "Very true..." evan will try to augment his defense to totally crumble the flame.

Evan's power skyrockets and the flame begins to do no damage. Tyrant shakes his head. "That's not a good measure." A circular funnel appears around Amdalus' mouth, Amdalus being surprised as the flame is stoked beyond Evan's defense. "Now: Nothing you will do will reduce the net damage to below zero. The experiment can continue."

Evan is quickly running out of energy at his power. Indeed, he is amazed that he is capable of keeping up his maximal defense. Laura says, "Letr's move up in the arms category, going from low caliber ordinary weapons to high caliber paranormal or extraordinary weapons."

In the middle of the sentence, Evan is suddenly under bombardment. Laura's shots are incredible: Despite being wholly devastating, they are just above lethal (she had a reputation for subduing, not killing, her targets, one reason she was so eager to quick the macho Xenosian SWAT). First pistols come from all directions, as she slowly becomes almost a swamp, firing from everywhere below, to the sides and sometimes above. Evan discovers that his field has no simple geometric limitations, and as her motion begins to move outside of normal dimensions, indeed is defensible against virtually ALL dimensions (something important to bear in mind if he has to fight Jin!) She moves upwards, to bolt-actions, submachineguns, energy weapons, flamethrowers, tazers, etc.
Evan finds out a few things:
1) His defense is very good against burst shots, glancing shots, and anything that suffers from too much chaos. 2) His defense is a little brittle, and at the moment its geometric shape is unsophisticated, much like tank armored before it was curved, so the rocket launcher hurt. 3) His defense is fantastic against pain, poison, subdual damage, etc., owing to a combination of his father's and mother's training, his incredibly alien and Ideal form, etc. 4) Certain intentionally chaotic effects do screw with part of his defense, but his entropic defense is reasonably good against it. 5) Technological and scientific attacks, or attacks you understand, do much worse. You don't need to see the attacks, just be able to understand them if you did. 6) His threshold is not nearly as reduced by continual damage as one would imagine. That is, if he is struck by a flamethrower, the flamethrower's damage does not count against some pistols.
While this occurs, Tyrant sets up a device below. Rings shoot up towards Evan that keep his energy and health refilled.
