Evan fails. The Lugh's Sphere functions as a powerful shield. The incoming shots keep coming.

Evan will dodge and evade, but I want to reverse that shield and crush her with it like skarnakova did to cyric way back when.

Xeno does that trick too, so Evan happens to be good at it. Unfortunately, Evan is struck repeatedly by the shots and knocked away/stunned.

Am I about to keel over?
Well its time for a booster
Birth the negative sun.(My powerup spell) If i got more turn, then ill attempt to crush her barrier on her.

No.
You do not get more turn. She herself manifests a great lunar energy, becoming almost a moon, mirroring Evan's rise in power. Evan has turn, but she does seem prepared for incoming attacks...

Lunar energy....hmmm...purification hurts.....
I think Evan will attempt to propare that universe stop trick tyrant taught him...what I'd really like to do is diolate time...launch a Raptured Dawn, trap it with the motion stop, use the time diolation to mulitply it infanitly faster, then launch it as a beam. I highly doubt you'll let me do all that in a single turn. And i also think you won't let me do most of that at all.
So....I guess ill just do the motion stop....and try to nail her with it.

What does Ruptured Dawn do? No description is there. You may not be able to do it in a single turn, unless you're lucky, but you may be able to do it in a few turns.

Ruptured Dawn- Creates a singularity, and bursts it like an intersellar flashbang. bombarding with radiation and lights.

Going to try for the grandiose plan or go for the quicker alternative?

grandiose....I figure if it fails and Im close to death...like one of her turns close to death Ill just pull a fields of stolen glory on her.

Evan begins to prepare the attack. The difficulty he is finding is that he must freeze the Ruptured Dawn not at any particular point, but precisely the point of detonation; then he is wondering how he will replicate it.
Sylphana calls out, "Avalanche!" once more. Suddenly, the original, his copy, and a third copy are coming in at him from all directions, and all have amassed a few turns worth of power.

I'd imagion if i take the hit....it'll waste me...is it possible to stop the motion of the avalanches and redirect them with the stop motion tech?
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Feb 22, 2006 18:41:07 GMT -5
Possibly, but the order you put it was the time dilation then the ruptured dawn then the actual complete freezing. You may need to lose the RD charge or it may not work at all thanks to the energy you've already put into the copy Avalanche.

sigh....
what do you personally suggest...I mean Evan have spell smithing, can't he retool the spell into the redirection to save time and energy?

|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Feb 22, 2006 19:43:25 GMT -5
Possibly, but that means losing the charge, most likely.

...for god sakes then why did i waste points in a class so i can do this type of shit when it doesn't allow me to do it. *grumble*
Ill attempt to do it and save the charge.

I'm letting you make a new and quite powerful ability completely impromptu (and that would actually be Adept now that I've revised the Class list). The fact that you can't deal with a superior spell coming at you instantly with an ability that normally involves experimentation is not only eminently fair but it's a little ridiculous of you to complain.
Evan's balancing of the different variables works against him, and the waves are crashing in on him. However, he has successfully created... something. He has amassed enough impromptu flexibility in his spell to deal with this new situation.

Its not this instance Im complainning about....its with all my character...Jess, Jack...and Evan...for example...an equal level spell comes at them, and there charging a spell, I asked to design a class so they can retool the charged energy into whatever they need. You agreed to the class. I wasted points on it. But whatever.
Deal with it how?

Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Feb 22, 2006 20:01:34 GMT -5
No, it isn't equal level. It's not just dice rolls or raw power, it's strategy. She launched an attack that is designed to get stronger over time, you improperly dealt with it, she used your skills against you. It's just a Reflect. And she is stronger and more powerful than you, with more honed and refined abilities. And further, the very fact that I am allowing you to create new spells on the spot is generous, because you were supposed to earn that ability, Adept or not, at your level (Forbidden) through a difficult and dangerous quest to acquire Apex Shaman. I am also sticking to the spirit of the class: The very word, "Spell Smith", implies that you make spells in a prepared and experimental fashion, NOT on the spot. If you want, I can make a roll where you do the effect you wanted, if you fail it backlashes and you probably die or set up your own destruction. (I remember I expressed EXACTLY these concerns and caveats when I approved you getting the class.) Further, you have how many Class Points into it? The reason you failed here was because you got a 5 on an initiative roll, no more, no less.
The attack is currently striking your defensive field but has not hit your body.

A corona of black matter forms around Evan. His body becomes flanged, and the avalanches deflect and break off of Evan harmlessly, like he was a tree faced with a thundering fall of snow.

No, the energy is broken harmlessly. (I rolled for it and you failed). Evan has more turn.

Evan begins to form the [what shape], but as it is he can't give it enough juice. He can use it to more than repatriate his energy in it or he can keep trying.

Sylphana decides that Evan is ripe to be at the epicenter of a disaster. The water churns, the air bubbles and storms, the flame ignites, the earth erupts as spires, all augmented by the power Evan is using. And he's at the center of it.
