I don't want to sound like an ass or anything, but could you guys take this discussion somewhere else? If people know it's full of nothing but chat about things other than the purpose of the thread, updates on the game, people are going to be less likely to check it when there's a new post in it, assuming it's just talk about something that could be better talked about elsewhere.
Like an SEPF. Somebody Else's Problem Field. People don't pay attention to it if it doesn't directly concern them.

Mephiasu, Felhame, Prototype 08, Ardunum, Helvena Bart, Marche, and Nekia ventured back into Ur-Katal. Dr. Sonya Pettrovich (related to the famous Pettrovich that designed Metal Gear) reported to the group. Changes are beginning to happen in Ur-Katal: Ardunum brought up ramparts and pillars to defend the archaeologists; Ikash's former army has a column of 1000 men, 600 of which are above ground and 400 are trying to fend off demons below; the turrets and defenses left behind by Spira are being battered and worked down but are still holding; Dryad's presence has left a holy, natural aura that is keeping the weaker demons and spirits at bay, providing a natural defense and resource for the archaeologists and making an escape hallway of thick palm trees ripe with dates; a Mist Dragon, Drow, Red Shadow Ninja, Impervious Golem and water elementals summoned by the Water Shaman. The group then moved into the second tunnel from the left. They went to the emergency barracks of Ur-Katal and opened the first door, fending off a Poison Giant, Black Dragon, Fire Demon Archer, mortar-firing Pucks, swarms of skeletons, Battle Ogre, Spirit Tower, and a Cyclops Commander. The group took some heavy damage but prevailed, and in fact Ardunum converted the Fire Demon Archer to an Apprentice and the Poison Giant and the spirits inside the tower into DIO! They also found an array of treasure, 3 of which were new Communal Items! Hahahaha, says the king of non-cogent threads . I concur: Please keep ideas on this thread brief and bring them back to the relevant section, in this case Destroy the Imperium and/or Dark Inferno's Necromancer Rival. Nice reference, though.

Last night, Mace defeated the roach that had been terrorizing the Ebon People. By doing so in a humane way, he earned a boon from Cockroach. Cockroach now can be accessed as a Communal Overspirit, Transgressive Dietary Expansion (great for people who like consuming others), Transgressive Self-Sufficiency, and the passive F2 Cockroach's Shell (exoskeleton that grants incredibly hard armor that is great against mass kinetic damage + wings + antennae). In addition, cockroach's totemic bonuses are ones regarding technology and hiding among humans.
Mace also was the first person to discover a Sanctuary of his!

Mephiasu, Nekia, Sandro, Helvena, Chavez X, Rayzen, Anderson II, and Mr. Fo swept through another door in Ur-Katal, clearing out swarms of skeletons with relentless ease. They found another set of treasure, some of which they kept, others of which are now up for auction at: cotgrpg.proboards78.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cotggroupresources&thread=1143331116&page=1The two biggest coups for the team are two Communal items. The first is not an item per se: Rather, it is a horde of the Godkissed, the Emperor's Guard of the Katalian Dynasties. These elite warriors are wholly human, unlike many of the Katalian hold-overs now encountered, and were feared all over Sumer by the primitive tribes of then-humanity. These fanatics responded to Ikash Harmuk's call and are now prepared to sacrifice their lives for the group! They are not DIO elements, but they are a communal horde that can be called on, especially for the planned attack run through Imperium space. Second, a mystic siege weapon was discovered, the Golem Cannon (or as it would translate into English). Seiryu left to pursue an unknown quest. Rashel Jacob, who apologized to him before he left for her past conduct, has stated that she thinks he's looking for a Sanctuary.

The group, as you know, is going for a suicide run against the Imperium. DI's rival will undoubtedly take the opportunity to press his counter-attack, which might open his borders up for infiltration. Problem is that, unless DI uses a powerful split form skill or what not, he can't split into two, and while he wants to fight his rival, his cultists and he are needed to bring numbers to fight off the Imperium. Further, DI on his own couldn't infiltrate, yet some of the better people at undercover ops (Laura Wild, Viktor Blackwing, etc.) are needed for the siege as well.
Rashel Jacob proposes, in her overzealous approach, an ultimately three-pronged strategy:
1) Fight the Imperium, draw in as many people as possible who'll use the Imperium's weakness (probably lots of bad guys, primarily). 2) Fight off the bad guys simultaneously, using their disarray. 3) Infiltrate DI's rival with a small splinter group.

The suicide run against the Imperium is picking up steam, with Cisero, Chosen One, Brunnengus, Poen, and Daedrous joining, among others. I have made the thread an Announcement so as to encourage participation. With as many people joining as there currently are, it'll be vital for some people to stay back, as so far the only VOLUNTEERS to stay back are Spira and Milky.
Also: Tula, a demon hunter with some very unorthodox methods and backers, joined the group last night. Krane was supposed to introduce her, but when the two arrived in Ur-Katal, Nekia's rivalry with her came to a head, and blows were nearly exchanged. The two agreed to an uneasy truce, and they explored Ur-Katal. Finding ancient Surkadian barbarians, the group engaged with them, only to find the barbarians simply wanting release. The group agreed to join in order to earn redemption, then moved on towards the Mountaintop, the Katalian major broadcast tower. The de facto leader of the Surkadians is Grimsha, a man with so far unknown talents, but who obviously knows his way around a blade and a hammer, and has some experience with wards and totem poles. A hint comes from his name, which means "Punisher of Arrogance" in Surkadian, a common term for dragon hunters.

It appears that yet more people are involved in the Imperium siege! Some others are staying home, however: Lameria, for example. The core group back at the compound may want to spend their time resting (taking advantage of "time off" or shifting or the "changing of the guard", so to speak ) and building the base's stationary defenses so as to make the team be more flexible. Also: The group exploring Ur-Katal, with the off-and-on aid of Seiryu, Relyet Flonne, and Vincent and Victoria Hack, opened the weapons locker and found some items that are being added to their private stash and Communals. They then fought a dragon who retreated, apparently a dragon that was functionally a living black hole, and took its treasure trove. Finally, they came to an elevator. The group here also spent some time verbally and intellectually sparring with a skull that seemed to yell absurdities. Apparently, Daemon, as it calls itself, can do nothing but lie, but it knows enough that its lies can be a key to truth. And: Though he has been a member for a bit, the team has acquired a powerful ancient Nightbane, Adonis!

Mario and Mark's teams continued to ascend the Mountaintop. They battled a possessed elevator that had been host to a dimensional being who used the elevator as an insiduous trap. After Madhouse (the mercenaries hired by Spira and his companions to enter Ur-Katal) arrived as "cavalry" to destroy the elevator, the two finally reached the top and began to battle the Colossus.
Mr. Fo has acquired a belt that has raised his already stellar, top-notch martial arts skills and allowed him to fully teach others Atemi and other skills! Helvena acquired a massive golden idol that magnifies his healing powers, gives him innate healing/"saving"/etc. tricks [think of an Inn], and allows everyone on the team to at times of need call on a heal! Oddly enough, a dark power on par with Brunnengus' fusion of the three Grens has been detected rising from Rayzen. His smile beams brighter than before...

Last night, the Siege on the Imperium began in full force! A splinter group composed of Pander, Mosho, Nobi, Furax, Jin, Swaggard, Takeshi, Baelstramus, Janus, Stral, Viktor Blackwing, Imbowé, Rayzen, Krane, Felhame, Denios, Ikash, Stral, Helvena, Clobberhorn, and Handyman began the initial opening, after Raysh and [Nekia's declared action with the Onmyosho - if this is a problem, Mario, I can do something] opened an initial access point. This was made possible by Ikash amazingly misdirecting a being he had encountered in the past to fight the Imperium forces and smash at the barrier, a limited version of Mace's broader plan to summon an "X factor". The Imperium understandably sent forces to the other side of their domain to fight the entity there. [FN: 285, 276, 255, etc.]
Jin, Takeshi and Swaggard quickly took the lead, working with Denios, Helvena and Viktor to create planning. Baelstramus, Janus, Mosho, Furax, Nobi, Imbowe, and Pander also took part in key planning and participation moments. Through hastily forged documents and visas created by Viktor, Takeshi and Swaggard were able to use their staggering Charisma to get the Regent (a One-Sword, or lowest rank) of this outpost planet to agree to give his group of luckily wholly human recruits a night of debauchery and revelry. (A 10 million GP bribe didn't hurt either). Takeshi set up a concert on the Undead Planet, while Swaggard's Casino entertained those not wanting to hear one of the most sophisticated aural masterpieces of all time. Due to what was about to happen next, Denios, Stral, Helvena, Felhame, Clobberhorn, and even Viktor and Handyman refused to take part past this point. Only Ikash, Krane, and Rayzen were willing to participate.
Takeshi's concert enthralled the masses of troops, dressed in fine dress outfits. He informed them that "death" would be occuring and that those who died would be revived. He then set up a heavy metal concert that itself killed many. However, a sandstorm raised by Furax, Mosho appearing with his Cursed Blades of Relentless Destruction, Baelstramus devastating opponents on his war elephant (with his Jedi Guards forming a contingent that kept the enemies locked in with Force Push and lightsaber combat), Janus blasting the group from the skies above, and finally Krane's Spherespear assault (done likely just to show it off, and to demonstrate the hidden power of her Worldspear, yet to be used) killed the group brutally and quickly. They instantly were revived into servitude.
Meanwhile, on the Casino Worldship, the helpless individuals were similarly taunted by Nobi, who reminded them of their atrocities and made them feel guilt and pain in proportion to their atrocities. They were also assassinated by Jin, Swaggard, Pander, Rayzen, Handyman and Ikash en masse, then dropped into the Undead Worldship.
It was a very dark action, and so many acts of good the team has done (such as Seiryu's redemption of a powerful Hollow) have been karmically "neutralized" [which will come into play when the Karmic Wheel quest is completed]. However, the Imperium members here were quite evil and had done horrible atrocities, and Crashing Heavens will likely free them from their bond of servitude over time to some type of redemption. Further, a number did not participate in the actions, showing CH's conscience. Nonetheless, such dark tactics being used already does not bode well... but Kumo has (upon hearing inklings) simply said, "War is hell. Hell isn't fucking nice." One can also note that those who were killed died quickly and relatively painlessly, and the Worldship will slowly offer them opportunities for independence and advancement. And the planet captured can be converted from an instrument of war into a utility for peace. Of course, there are many in the team whose stomachs churn at such tactics, and its implications may be long felt...
The practical upshot is that one planet of the Imperium's (among their storehouses, but a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step) has been liberated. A minor commander has been killed mercifully while he was performing debauchery. Denios used electromagnetism to seize control of the fleets on the planet. This in conjunction with turning recognizable members of the Antibody Council (essentially the Border Patrol) into undead troopers, taking documents, communiqués, insignia, etc. en masse has allowed the team an unexpected option: Rip off the wolf's clothing and pass among its pack! Though the Worldships may be somewhat difficult to hide, as will other fleets and forces, the Imperium's own usage of mercenaries and bounty hunters may turn against them, as this "patrol" may claim to have acquired the assistance of mercs and/or bounty hunters. The group should, if they play their cards right, be able to use this ruse to capture, destroy or liberate more territory, slip past automated patrols and "mines", ambush patrols and planets, etc. Further, they now have a staging area to plant factories (which Handyman among others is busily working on), get in reinforcements, even momentarily get ALL of CH in! Raysh and Nekia can probably handle a few more trips back and forth, and as an emergency the planet here can allow temporary funneling through the barrier (though the group now understands that those funnels are reported by the central authority and thus are a last resort). All this for very little effort.
Viktor comments, "The ideal path for this is a spiral. While the option takes the longest, if one moves to the least important areas first, security will be lax and the deception will be likely to continue in success. Strike the fingers first and eventually the body will fall."
Denios replies, "The longer we stay, the more likely we get recognized. Best to exhaust the ruse totally, make more of a zig-zag." Clobberhorn yells, "Besides, aren't we supposed to be doing a suicide run?"
Helvena has placed his golden idol on the captured fortress planet (smallish in size, something like Mercury). This will allow healing, "saving" and other devices. Handyman has begun to convert facilities into factories. Denios and Ikash, among others, are doing their best to continue fortifying.
Unresolved questions:
1) What more to do with the planet? 2) What to do with Baelstramus' Star Forge? Due to the actions of the team here, Dark Side energy is proliferant. Yet further into the Imperium, more could be found, and this is far from the supplies. 3) What is there in all of the communiques to this base? Interesting, or no? (There weren't that many, which is very odd in and of itself... or is it?) 4) How far to stretch the newfound mobility? The whole team could leap in and out a few times for guerilla tactics, allowing slightly more drawn-out campaigning, more quests, more involvement, and less all-or-nothingness... But that will only be for so long until the ruses are discovered and the Imperium launches its full counter-attack. Question is, how long?
And, of course, the l3wt: *5 million GP for each individual *1 million additional newly undead troops (including a few former elite troops and the Regent!) *1 billion GP for the communal coffers! *2000 ships of various sizes *A spare weapon cache sufficient to arm the original troops plus 200,000 more *Insignia, communiques, etc. sufficient to establish identity for masses of troops and ships!
Also: Evan, Wyatt, Jack, Bleeding Tinker and Quion delved into the Cleft of Dimension. They moved through a plateau, fought a random encounter, continued moving, and acquired 500,000 each in GP.

Nekia and Krane are homing onto the location of Wisp! Moving through a section of the Jorochim Island, near the capital of K'ilios, they got into combat the moment Krane moved past a certain point, a previously tame Rabite turning fierce. Soon, they were fighting off monsters repeatedly.

Nekia and Krane managed to get into the waterfall's secret cave. Exploring, they came upon a mossy rock, which when investigated flowered into a Cardinal Tropicallo, a powerful boss!
Cisero, Chosen One, Gluttony, Barney, Dame Insurmountable, Voracio and Pranax continued their battle in the Bone Eater's Arena.
Mace and Laura, after some bumbling (such as calling their demonic contact Shem and not noticing that he was afraid of surveillance, teleporting to him in demon forms that he didn't recognize and not introducing themselves properly, then stopping time without realizing that demon onlookers would notice them suddenly disappearing), managed to drug Shem up as a bribe and talk to him. Damen Halliwell Turner then talked to them about the danger Shaizan and Valikriz posed to the Demon Realms.

Ominai began to push for a concept for the CH to run its own super-prison, a neutral entity with a neutral court, approved by many parties and with the highest of human rights standards while still providing an effective deterrent or removing function as well as rehabilitation. Helvena is crafting a press release: Anyone is free to help him. Meanwhile, Ominai is securing funding and approval for it.
Poen, Mace, Jerry, Laura, Brent, Sam, Cisero and Tula sought out the Living Shadow Shrine of Independence. The transparent shrine was in a still-underwater part of the Serpent Trench in the World of Revival [FF6 world post-Kefka]. The group was stymied by the attempt to enter.
Cisero, Krane, Felhame, Chosen and Poen began to engage Spekkio in their own round, attempting to release Sam Antietam the God of War, the man who defeated an Archaic Avatar and then fell to hordes of the All-Monster's, from his proverbial slumber. Cisero began in earnest, leaping into the air, explosions erupting about him as his descent began...
Ominai, Inilisu and Quion heard of a Ranger Mission to protect a recently unearthed gold mine. The Rangers currently doing the mission are overwhelmed, as both the monsters at the bottom of the mine and the rival groups pushing for dominance of the mine over the townspeople's claim, primarily an offshoot of Badbad's former organization, are stronger than they anticipated. Inilisu humiliated a number of the Badmen, with Quion and Ominai functioning as a background role.
Krane and Nekia sent back a bizarre plant creature, apparently related to the Tropicallo species [http://www.seikens.com/bestiary-tropicallo.html], to the team frozen in a block. When it arrived, a white ball emerged from it and flew at incredible speeds back to the Jorochim Isles. The creature immediately seemed to become more docile. Felhame, Mavar and the other plant experts are beginning to process it. Meahwile, Salamando was conjured by Krane and Nekia. The waterfall in front of them melted, revealing a gigantic mirrored surface.
Finally, the group thought of ideas for the Imperium siege, primarily in terms of allies and X-factors, which will be added to Prep for the Imperium. They are:
1) An Avatar of Death, which would desire to destroy their undead and their necromancers for daring to undermine death; however, it would also try to harm CH, so beware (luckily, not civilians) 2) In the same vein, an ancient lord/lady of the Chinese Hells preceding the Yama Kings, who would have many reasons to try to get his/her hell finally closed and his/her job complete by fighting some necromantic minions and Imperium liches or Undead Immortals 3) Issuing a call for volunteers from merchant marines; the Celestia Cruise Ship Company expressed some interest in doing so 4) Rounding up Hollows and driving them into Imperium space: Again, good since they'll go only after concentrations of spirit energy 5) Seiryu's affinity with kaiju, giant monsters, could lead them to find a monster that consumes undead 6) Ancient missile silos

A new... guy, Roger (now known as Roger the Entity, "That Guy Who Smells Really Bad #2", and some other names by those who have worked with him), walked along the plateau of Chavez's line drawings. Chavez sent him down to join the group, and after an introduction by Quion, Krane, Sandro, Nekia, SoS and Sanzo, Kumo convinced him to join the group with promises of travel and power. Roger very quickly liked his new abilities, so Denios, Mephiasu, Nekia, and Sanzo set out to find Undine. While in transit, they encountered a mysterious entity that simply referred to itself as "Pudge" (taking the name of an OGM Abomination). It soon revealed itself to be a former Imperium torturer that the Imperium owes a debt of pain to. Willing to join the team to collect its debt (and if it likes the job, retain it), it travelled with the now five-man group and found the Gorogos Frost Plains. Floating above the giant icy fields, they soon realized thanks to Roger's amazing intuition and senses of reality that the Gorogos Frost Plains was the source of Undine. Moving through the standard puzzles and so on, they finally encountered a surprise: An entity that seemed to have taken Dolan the Godbeast of Moon's body and added on a Machine Golem and Fiegmund head! Amazingly, using their power cycling, cloning, Roger's apparent ability to drain DNA and souls, and numerous other advantages, they destroyed the creature irrevocably, also capturing energy and knowledge. The upshot: The entire team has acquired the status of Incomplete Godbeast, and they may quest to gain their elemental or other portfolio! Those five who fought (with the odd exception of Nekia) are now the first full Godbeasts of the team! This gives everyone:
+50 Aff to all elemental attacks (in addition to the +25 from the other spirits and the Tome) +25 Aff to all Undine/water based abilities 1 Undine, Salamando or Dryad F2! 50 Affinity Points to spend as one wishes +25 to Magic Lore: Mana 700% Lore: Elements 700% Incomplete Godbeast Transgressive Merit! 500 million GP to the team coffers! A new part to the Ranger's Wings!
Also: [OOG: Glenn did this, showing initiative and gusto I applaud and approve of] A War Game was begun featuring competing necromancers and requiring group tactics, an excellent training session for the war to come...

Denios, Zenexoria, Mephiasu, Nekia, and Poen worked with Raswell Oslaf, the team's new contact and ally of convenience in the country ruled by Sir Nemesis. The rebels headed by Raswell surprised the guards with a convenient drunk trick, and with "Sic Semper Tyrannus" still ringing in the air the battle was joined! Poen had begun by throwing down twelve foes, but a little less than two hundred guards still remained, and who knows what else would interrupt them before the Tzaddikim... [NPC Colossi].
Taklinn, Hack and Sarashito managed to finally get into the cave of Antatlas! In the beginning of the undoubtedly soon-to-be-furious fight, Taklinn found that the sheer size of this chthonic entity that helps hold up Fate (after ominous warnings) was scarcely harmed by, well, anything so far. [Giant Totema].
The Hollow fending off Seiryu was quickly dispatched by Jerry Thrace, and after brief introductions Denios and Seiryu continued to the center of the old Soul Society. Something awaited them... [Yoshi Sato]
After stomping the Badbad goons sent to dislodge the Rangers, Inilisu introduced himself to the selfsame Rangers holding onto their base near the gold mine. The as-yet-unintroduced Horune of the Ranger group there recognized Inilisu (which both the Apok and the Agerus failed to), and the human Cosmo-Knight (apparently from Iowa) briefed Ominai et al on the true situation: Horrible unknown abominations in the mine shafts, long dead remains of unidentified miners, and the threat of the Badbads. With the volunteered (indeed insisted) help of the Horune, a newly formed party of four ventured to stop the Badbads: Ninja, pirate, Magi and Paladin. [Ranger Missions]
A talented magician, feeling a bit out of her league but valiantly accepting a contract with Crashing Heavens, battled Denios. Aeris Surewater saw Denios' Godbeast form for the first time, marvelling at its stupendous valor. [...Furcadia?]
Glenn's Spekkio fight continued forward slightly.
Another iteration of the Black Totem War Game began, with Denios, Quion and the Tzaddikim [the latter thanks to it being a War Game - Ed] joining Cisero and the Chosen One in again trying to defeat both the theocrats and the necromancers.
OOG: And all this in the same day as ITM, mowing and pruning!

Now operating from Crashing Heavens' home base, Dengar, Yayoi, Mac and Dax [the latter of whom is a new member of CH, introduced recently] joined with Viktor F'irae Blackwing in the Outlaw Star and headed for an Imperium forest planet. Apparently, the need for wood, plant matter and so on was quite overwhelming, because the five encountered not only necromantic patrols but Orcish mercenary patrols! Viktor and Yayoi magnified the screams of the planet, powerful indeed because of the many ancient trees, and used that to decimate the forces on fat planet and fat necromantic patrols.
A frenzied battle then began with the Orcish survivors. Highlights included Dax's revelation of a werebear form beyond his control, leaping into battle with the sheer power of behind him, killing the Warboss in one brutal claw flurry; a Squiggoth's brains being blown out by Viktor's Dodonpa IV then reanimated; Mac's expert piloting of the Outlaw Star and ripping open a hole in the consolidated barrier of tortoisee-formed enemy ships; Dengar smashing into a monstrous Squiggoth with his ax and his hammer simultaneously; and Yayoi's eruption of a massive starburst that clouded sensors and communications!
At the end of the battle, a quite final victory for CH was tallied. Most of the orcs were reconstructed, revived, regenerated, healed or turned into undead minions. The Squiggoth was returned to life, as was 60% of the Ork fleet; 35% were taken back to function as raw material to be reconstructed. For a cost of 150 million, taken from the defeated Imperium forces, the Warboss was recruited into being a CH accomplice [luckily for the team, he had not signed a contract with the Imperium regarding loyalty but was simply underpaid and given the worst assignments].
Further, the planet itself was filled with wonders. Though the forests were declared off limits, mandated to be kept unblemished and untouched, the Imperium troops left behind many treasures due to their sudden death. In order of importance:
*Tied down by chains of sheer torment, Seila the Plant Shaman was discovered and released! She increases the number of Shaman Fusions available.
*Many materia were discovered, including 20 F2 Materia to be auctioned among team members!
*Green and Black Elements were also discovered and derived, giving every team member 1 F2 Green or Black Element and 5 Fs each
*Deforestation equipment of all kinds, 50 massive tanker ships, hunting equipment (to deal with the local fauna population), 7174 logging robots, flamethrowers, pesticides, herbicides, seeds and fertilizer [obviously designed to quickly reseed the planet]
*30,000 Orks and associated personnel total, including 50 Wyrdboys, 50 Shamans, the Warboss, the Monster Squiggoth, and 5000 Skirmishers
*Tons of positive karma! So far, this just helps some on the team such as Brunny
*Communiques and data, including the following: "While I hate to use such a tired statement, the Imperium is like an onion. Each noxious layer provides a new deterrent. Raxram, Archon Thramas, Noint Noir... so many forces beyond our foes' comprehension, let alone ability to fight. I am very honored to be pursuing the construction of the device that will finally allow us to enter the Reliquary of Nepharim and teach those UEG interlopers..."
Dax's first action with CH was quite impressive indeed, his massive Affinity allowing him to break ships to pieces and defeat a powerful foe in one action after being cut across the neck, but it will likely be his last in this campaign for some time. His werebear form has taken over, and disappeared completely into the forest. Yayoi believes he is trying to fully summon the power of the planet.
Meanwhile: Laura, Brent and Jerry encountered a noxious gas that eventually ignited in response to Jerry's ki lantern ball. They saw a horrible monster inside the former hall of Soul Society, forging misshapen edges with acid and flame, its mask black instead of silver...

Laura, Brent, Jerry and Denios began to battle the thick-legged Yoshi Sato. The master smith apparently was also incredible at bringing out the powers of and controlling many zanpakuto simultaneously, as he was using this talent to heavily harm the four! So far, Jerry was falling flat on his back to the ground being pushed by an energy mortar, Laura had ran afoul of stomping, Denios had tried to electromagnetically pin Yoshi but Yoshi had used a newly gained superior stance to throw him aside, Rashel had evaded all the attacks successfully, and Brent had taken fire damage.
After quite a hiatus, the rush toward the Oblivion Sage's Colossus in the Underdark finally went underway once more! Striding along, the team found a large cavern that seemed to almost appear around a bend and began to go down it. Going straight down into the gullet of the blackness, the group came across a number of corpses, including one that seemed to be wearing a medieval leusire suit. Conjuring the corpse, they discovered that he was a human salesman sent by the people of the Underdark to certain doom. Being very slick, and also carrying mysterious items, he managed to sell 2 billion GP worth of merchandise! However, Ganba secured funding through moving around some assets that he and others hold (Ganba and Kriltil are functionally the team's accountants, and counting stocks, real estate, services, business subsidiaries, contracts, etc. the team has hundreds of billions of GP worth of accessible money - the only few billion of communal CASH is simply the immediately accessible liquid currency), and this freed the salesman and his entourage to the Crossroads of the Lost!
At the same time, the team has also secured a Brevet NPC [term for someone getting close to full CH status but not quite there] in the form of a member of the Drow nobility, so far unnamed! She brings money, formidable empathic powers and a wide array of artistic endeavors. Her vast wealth and influence contributes to her having bodyguards, the ability to create incredibly powerful art
The R2 Unit's mysteries were more fully unravelled: See that thread for more.
Nekia and Krane advanced forward towards Wisp, killing with utter brutality eight monsters that attempted to stop them.

The gate of Sir Nemesis' estate was broken open by Denios' taking advantage of Poen's assault. Zenexoria then crushed elite troops with the power of Voidess. However, more forces were coming, and it was clear that it was time to assault the Colossus itself!
Meanwhile, after Rashel gave into a powerful Hollow force, Brent brought down the former palace of Soul Society onto Yoshi and Rashel. Yoshi and Rashel fought, Rashel's Hollow shape able to consume masses amount of energy. Denios poured energy to harm Yoshi and stop Rashel, finally bringing Yoshi to his senses with his Rand training. Yoshi Sato was finally healed, bringing 500 million to the team in Soul Society bounty as well as benefits to Seiryu, Rashel, Denios, Laura, Brent and Jerry. Yoshi brings the following to the team:
*A zanpakuto for everyone! These zanpakuto are ancient ones that have been wielded by former Soul Slayers, mostly ones that for whatever reason needed to be kept hidden. These zanpakuto will, under Yoshi's guidance, acquire a second spirit from the owner as well, giving them a spirit from the old weapon and a spirit from the new. *Shinigami status similar to Ichigo's. Soul Society is willing to make CH members basically unranked shinigami - to advance to lieutenant or captain status would require training and missions within Soul Society. Because of this mission, however, Seiryu, Denios, Rashel (who so far seems to want to wash her hands of Soul Society due to her anti-supernatural prejudice), Laura, Brent and Jerry have acquired some affinity with and reputation in Soul Society. This manifests as the Legendary Shinigami Certification. *+50 Ki. *1 F2 kido *1 F2 from the zanpakuto or sword skills *9 CPs into Shinigami (which of course grants 6 Fs) *Yoshi's prodigious skill. Yoshi can train individuals in the creation of zanpakuto, but only a few on the team would be good enough to learn his art. However, his other mastery is in using the weapons he knows. Yoshi himself (despite being one of the strongest CH NPCs, able to give everyone but Tyrant a run for their money) is not a master of kido or swordsmanship: What he is is a brilliant user of shikai, bankai and the powers of the swords. Yoshi can do everything from imbue zanpakuto powers into weapons to help bring out shikai and bankai.
A total of 533 million has been given to Ganba to allow him to pay off his 1.5 billion loan! The benefit of this has been to give CH an even more dazzling credit record and reputation for financial fidelity.

Milkdrop seems to be wandering around the complex now with a self-satisfied smile on his face. Odd, since he was partially in quarantine for his All-Monster DNA...
Hack has continued his battle against the Neuric Dominator! Though things turned upwards for a bit when the ship that Hack was fighting was destroyed, the Neuric Dominator's attack has turned that around.

After a month of less out-of-site action than normal, things resumed with a bang! The Eye of Terror mission was continued. The strength match was put on hold [still needs to be played out], because the Casino Worldship's Endurance had uncovered a Planar beast: A creature of speed summoned by the Planejump! The monstrosity composed of pure triangles seemed transcendentally powerful, but brilliant attacks by Marche, Jin, Evan and Yayoi wore it down while maintaining health. The beast was finally destroyed by a constant barrage of Chronanova blasts, demonstrating Jin's ever-ascending proficiency with that power.
This battle bankrupted the erstwhile Pirate of the Bottle. However, when Swaggard appeared, unmasking himself as the true power behind the Casino Worldship, the Pirate simply mentioned that Swaggard only needed to mention the Gemfist Pact's reuniting! Now the team has acquired an ancient "fallen" fertility god with powers matching Swaggard's.
Now the group goes to the Eye of Terror! In the meantime, they get: 100 million to everyone, 1 billion each to the Imperium fund, prison fund, general fund, and hospital fund.

Jin used a Trial Ticket to attempt for a new Tome: The Tome of Professions. After engaging with a vampire hunter and an Ogre Hunter [not a hunter of ogres but an Ogre with the skill to hunt beasts and men], Jin successfully gained the Tome! Now everyone can choose a 6 CP Profession, ranging from Fighter or Warrior to Hunter or Archer to Samurai to Ninja to Doctor to Lawyer to Astronaut!

Ta'zo the Chaos Archmage of Flame was recruited in the midst of Silithus. The new member's random extermination of Silithids and Mephiasu's oddly unaware walking seemed to awake something powerful. Tazo and Mephiasu, with the assistance of the Horde and an airstrike from Furax, defeated it and revealed the labryinthine caverns inside... [OOG: New dungeon!]
Thrall revealed that the Lord of the Deep's projected energy has produced a new monster for the Burning Legion and perhaps a new inheritor to the Kraken of Rifts Earth. Ta'zo, a new Maverick Hunter, Helvena, Kumo, Mac and Sylvexa delved into the deeps and began battling demons.
Finally, Rayzen, Nekia and the High Noon Cowboy began a tournament held by the Splugorth. The prize? So far unrevealed. The cost? Part of one's power and possibly one's soul. They managed to get to the third round.

Maximillian managed to cast seeking words into the air and discover a Shrine of Independence, located in Felfire Hill, Ashenvale. It's expected that the shrine will yield a demonic ally or "pet" for all. Unfortunately, the operation to go seize the shrine was interrupted by a Dreadlord seeming to be hunting Mephiasu (who also rejoiced at the opportunity to assault Ta'zo and Jangadan). Bryan McAleese and the Maverick Hunter managed to score a strike, and Ta'zo and Jangadan seized control of a rift in space-time that was leading to the Twisting Nether! Ta'zo was able to use this knowledge to create a new species on the spot: An Infernal made of pure nether-infected arcane energy.
Meanwhile, the Casino Worldship managed to finally arrive at the Eye of Terror, after having defeated Dark Eldar pirates. The pirates will undoubtedly be looted and turned in for bounties.
The carcass of the creature left in Silithus began to be explored by Quion and Damien. It is clear that the already-stronghold sized creature (as large as Orgrimmar) is internally spatio-temporally enhanced, making it a truly massive force. Why and what... well, who knows.
Rayzen, Nekia and the HNC (with a substitution by Bryan McAleese) also advanced further in their tournament.
A duel between Quion and Ashley Williams on the one hand and Mac and Aran Fett on the other ended in standard form: An endlessly-repeating power cycle. However, the duel soon acquired a greater significance, as it energized the Necronomicon ex Mortis that Ashley Williams controlled, turning part of the War Games Room into a hellish reality powered by the four combatants' energy! The infection must be cleared, else evil Abraham Lincolns or something start coming out.

It seems Ash's luck with the War Games Room is not the greatest. Ash recently engaged Fracas. The battle was a sadistic one, Fracas showing what a founding member of the Third Dynasty of CH can do, Ash fending off as well as he could and putting up an admirable fight. Nonetheless, Fracas clearly had the direction of the battle going his way. Finally, Fracas managed to grapple with the Eva unit and release it from its restraint armor, further corrupting the WGR! Ash, despite his new charisma and sociability (gained from an unknown source, but it seems like he's using phrases like "Baby" and "Never, never gonna give you up" more often than usual), has become quite obsessed with returning the WGR to its former condition.
Not all of the reality-altering catastrophes the WGR creates are bad, however. Thanks to Ta'zo, Yayoi and others, the distinction between healing and damage was irrevocably shattered during a duel, and Fracas managed to add this energy to the primordial ooze, gaining those involved in the duel two Unique Affinities among the other benefits!
Mica and Nekia also joined the dueling activity, their duel ending in a draw thanks to Nekia's shattering of the Infinite Generator Mica possesses.
Denios recruited a new martial artist [played by Black] with a rather intense duel in the latter's dojo. The martial artist was introduced to many of the individuals on the team.
Mephiasu has been spending somewhat less time at the complex recently.
Black's character and Mephiasu released The Tome of the Weapon Master and The Tome of the Unknown Soldier from the Treasure of Trials. The Weapon Master Tome teaches a variety of classes having to do with the manipulation, use, construction and destruction of weapons, while the Unknown Soldier teaches soldiering classes from across the universe.
Nekia, Marche, Dax, Mac, Aran and Sylvexa engaged Spekkio and defeated him, gaining the team as always some assorted items including a new Job Gem!
Mica, Nekia, Krane and Quion continued to train under the West Kai. They now are at the sparring and intensive training leg of the Other World tournament, and may be called upon to do some generic do-gooding as well.

Jin, Nekia, Black, and Fracas all engaged the Transgressive Beast of Blades, and through brilliant combining of their abilities managed to defeat it, granting everyone a legendary blade!
Unfortunately, Kumo, #08 and Fracas were not so lucky against the War Games Room's corruption. They did manage to fend off a capture of the WGR's reconstruction of the Necronomicon ex Libri, also defeating evil copies of many CH members, but the effect has rent the WGR asunder. Currently, the instrument panel is sealed, keeping the new forces inside within its confines and CH or allies out. This is a double-edged sword, transparently. Further, the corruption has now formed in a complex manner. The two main antagonists are the Angel of Death and the Angel of Life, combining the energy of the Mortis and Libri (respectively) with Angels. However, there are some defenses that are keeping them from completely taking the WGR:
1) The WGR's energy input has been shut down to practically zero, owing to the destruction of the control panel and energy conduits. Internal to the WGR, the forces are quite powerful, but they have infinitesimal inertia outside of that area. 2) Both Angels and their forces act as counterweights to the other. The two opposing principles are battling, and while the Mortis has the edge in terms of its foothold in the WGR and the fact that the Angel of Death's book seed was real while the Life's was fake, it is nonetheless a near-even matchup. 3) The super-energizing of the WGR owing to Evil Spira's detonation and Kumo's mass increase in power (amplified by the fusion and cooperation with Fracas and 08) has blown open a number of seams, making simulations from the WGR randomly appear. These simulations are occasionally towns or "friendly locations", a whole new universe that needs to be reconstructed and combined piece by 4) The internal metageography of the WGR has been cut into islands by the Stillness and Cease Affinities released there, giant white borders keeping areas sealed. This limits the ability of both Angels to act. 5) Both Angels are in a renewed period of dormancy, especially Life. They are only beginning to awake, and even then will have to grapple with their nature. 6) Ash's Angel was released, restraint armor renewed, from the WGR! Apparently both Angels only used it as a seed, discarding it like detritus when they had ascended beyond it. However, this was an exceptionally bad decision. The Angel is gleaming with near-catastrophic power. (Unfortunately, the Mortis remains lost.)
The risk of the WGR's corruption, of course, was always that the WGR could endlessly spew out Cosmic foes that would force the abandonment of the complex and take up CH and the Old Guard's time. Unfortunately, the Old Guard are now totally unable to assist: The WGR's security program prevents any non-CH member from entering, and even Thrash, Badcat and Xeno have limited access due to their retired status. TBX have put essence fragments into Wargamia, the friendly town that can still be accessed through a torturous process of dimensional tunneling.
Kumo's plan, involving most of CH with backup Old Guard assistance, has one weakness: It requires two Ikirus, both performing the Psycho Ascension, turning the Angels into a pure energy form where they would ascend beyond corporeality. But Kumo in his eagerness and haste forgot that Ikiru has been gone for quite some time. While Kumo screams, "Goddamn pussies, wishing to leave after the Tournament! Fucking maggot fucks! I'll shove my cock in his ear!", Ikiru is somewhere... out in the cosmos...

Long time no talk!
The War Games Rooms' corruption has not been dealt with (but has not advanced to any noteworthy degree), Itek is on the loose, and... a Treasure of Trials run was done. Nekia, Mephiasu, Jack, Wyatt, Mac and a new member piloting a Gundam used six Trial Tickets. The only item that is confirmed that they returned is the Marauding Apocalypse Ensorcelled, a bottle that releases an apocalyptic storm that whittles down friend and foe alike. They also returned with $10 billion GP, which has single-handedly restored the ailing CH fund. Otherwise, the group has not yet mentioned its lucre... (Aside from the lucre, those who went in get the following: 6 CPs, 6 RBs, 500% Skill Points - 1000% for Jack and Mephiasu, 5 new Forbiddens from any school of choice and for those with a big thing 1 new derived F2.)
