Brent looks at Tyrant. "Is that going to be painful? And you won't let me die, will you...?"

He chuckles. "Do you know vat a biopsy is?"

"Not really, no. I'll probably feel stupid once you explain it to me, though."

"A biopsy won't kill you," Xexilia giggles lightly, "It's not like an operation."

For being a healer, he's quite oblivious to the workings of manual surgery and such. "Ah, well then, no problem." He chuckles a bit, nervously. He shifts his weight from one foot to the next.

"It is a representative sample of a section of the body. I'll biopsy a few areas and study the material."

"Ah, yeah, I feel stupid." Brent smiles shyly. "Maybe you can use the material to trace my essence back to where it originally came from...? I think that'll be our best bet. I know there are tracer spells that use rituals and fingernail trimmings and such to lead back to one's origins. But I'm not sure that'll work for me."

"If your trace leads back to a non-existent location or a place outside of zis universe, the trail will be necessity aborted before there."

"So if it were a place outside of this universe, there would be no possible way to get there ourselves?" A rather outrageous question...Xexilia tilts her head to the side. "If there is a way, could tracing his essence lead us to it...?"

"Or maybe use that sample to find something like me? Another creature or maybe a portal?

"Pozzibly. You see, the first problem is that it appears that this fellow comes from beyond the range of zis universe's reality, and thus, just as scientists in the past could not see before ze Big Bang (because no light existed before zat event and therefore one would not look before it), zere is no way for mechanisms of zis universe, or even different but unrelated universes, to find them. The zecond problem may also be insurmountable. Imagine taking a random cross-section of you, or you.", Tyrant says, as he points to Xexi and Zene. "Now, that cross-section would have some information: We might be able to analyze vere you had been to some degree of accuracy based on chemicals in your system. But one would probably not be able to, say, trace the direction you went in zose locations. And if you had been in a closed environment, say, a starship, one would not be able to tell where that closed environment had been based solely on your biopsy. Zo Brent's breakdown first may not note a 'trace', such as a trail of breadcrumbs, that would lead back to his origin, or even anywhere close. Second, even if it told us the composition of zis other realm from which he hails, zat would be useless since we do not know where this realm is."

"Let's try it anyway, then." Brent, in his human form, plucks a few hairs from the top of his head and holds them out to Tyrant. "Will that work?"

Tyrant shakes his head. "No, my friend. Hair does contain some chemicals, but I need to see how YOU function." A cylindrical shape begins to form in his hand...

Brent cringes a bit but the hairs melt into his body, a sparkle of various symbols and blue light, and he groans. "I was really hoping that you were talented enough that you could just do it with those, but alright."

Tyrant laughs, a bit uncomfortably. "It's not talent, my friend, it's science and truth. Are you ready?"

"Talent at figuring out the universe, I meant." He sighs and nods. "Beam me up, Scottie." He wonders at that laugh. Tyrant, uncomfortable? That's...just out-right strange.

Xexilia seems a bit confused, wondering if she should leave, "um..."

Tyrant pushes the device in. Brent feels no pain, astoundingly. He sees a bit of himself being stabilized by.... something, his mind seems to blank it out afterwards. Tyrant then puts it the item away alongside a small circular device.

(He sheds like anyone else, and he has long hair, where his is pron to shedding from time to time in large amounts.) Mace looks at Denios and nods, thinking about this. "Uh huh. By the way, any time during this I sound like I'm not eager or happy to hear what you have to say, it's just the mood swings. Nothing personal." He takes a bite out of the carpaccio, taking a bit of pleasure out of it and wonders if he could learn how to make it himself. "What are the "Khashem Horizona' anyway? And that doesn't seem like everything you want to say." Denios does not respond verbally. Instead, he points to two katars linked to gauntlets that he holds. Brent looks at Tyrant and blinks. "Wow, that was so unimpressive I'm actually disappointed," he grinned though, sarcasm evident in his voice. He looks to Xexilia, now blushing and feeling a bit like an idiot. For what, he didn't know.

...Why the Khashem Horizona quotes, you didn't respond to him but to Tyrant?
"Yes. Biopsies are often quite painful, but not painful enough to faze someone like you. Now I vill study your composition."

Forgot to add the post...the one where he already asked if D referred to Mace's first, second, or both his questions.
Mace looks at the katars and blinks. "Clarify, please. I'm out of it."
"Oh, neat! Well, if you ever need anymore, I'm available." Brent seems relieved at hearing that.

"The Khashem Horizona are my katars. At times, they seem to force me to transform in a way I scarcely remember, such as when I battled Valorian." Denios seems increasingly irritated at covering the same very basic ground.
"Generally, if one biopsy does not do the trick, more will not either. A sample with a flawed methodology can be repeated ad infinitum to no effect."

Zenexoria clings tightly to Denios' wrist, her eyes on his katars as if she could eat metal, only about the size of his forearm anyway. "Ooo!" She reaches out with her tiny hand to touch them from where she was--her claws stretching effortlessly as if to assist her in reaching.
Xexilia smiles lightly, shifting her helmet to under her other arm, almost tempted to put it back over her head.

"Yes, I understand that, but why are you sharing this all with me?" Mace seems to be a bit distracted, not focusing much anymore and setting his eyes on the beef. Like he had told Denios before, "take no offense, I'm out of it right now," and takes another bite.
Brent looks at Tyrant, shrugging. "Well, the offer still stands for any reason what so ever." He turns to Xexilia. "Want to go grab some ice cream?"

He smiles and turns back to Tyrant. "Thanks Tyrant. Send me the results to my communicator, okay?" He turns to Xexilia and nods, walking off towards the cafeteria.
"Yeah, I sort of felt like you may have thought I was suddenly ignoring you or was interested, so, the ice cream question came to mind. What's your favorite flavor? I like plain vanilla, personally."

Brent shrugs. "Why not both?" He enters the cafeteria, looking for the order counter and along the way asks, "So why did you join the CH?"
