"Fun stuff. I'm thinking a quick move for a Kuchiyose, for one."
Indeed, they have, but the murmur is more one of impatience. Helvena says, "Survey the opposition now, it can save a lot of time."

Spectra? Like spectrums of light? And what are they looking for: Appearance, equipment, power level, experience, age, Bijuu, etc.?

|
Post by Vincent Hack on Nov 8, 2006 21:37:47 GMT -5
all of it, hack's use of spectra is more in detection

You'll probably need to specialize as to what you're looking for.

weapons, armor, and the most benevolent and malevolent souls, just to get a better idea of our opponents

Is that respectively or each one is looking for all three? And will you tell Hel or Kumo so they can look too?

OOG: Thank Hack's Supersolder II for the amount of data here.
Most of the Genin here are, as can be expected, negligible. Even under the worst of circumstances, they pose absolutely no threat.
Hack and Taklinn ascertain the following: It seems that the leaders of Stone have decided this year to focus on prosthetics. Many of their Genin are outfitted. While a few of the cybernetics are obvious or exposed, surprisingly most seem to be understated, yet nonetheless with a focus on enhancing physical power. There seems to be one Genin exception to this rule of note from Stone. Helvena comments, <Hmmm, that's interesting... he seems to have an affinity with every element... Everyone else from Stoneisn't competitive.> Anduris notes that the one Helvena is talking about is competitive and proud but honorable.
Sand seems to be focused on a cost-cutting regimen, reasoning that if they can run their village cheaply they can simply pump money into it afterwards. This means that the Genin of this group seem to be focused on the occasional bijou, Jutsus, animals, etc. Kumo chuckles. <Well, he's a badass. That kid over there, awesome ninjutsu and taijutsu, plus a sweet antlion thingy. Otherwise, Sand sucks maggot shit.> Anduris sees that this is a uniquely disciplined young man.
Hack sees a focus among Sound on swords. Indeed, there are four impressive blades! It seems they're trying to overcome Mist's reputation, using their foul technology to compensate for the lack of skill of the individual members. Helvena notes, <The one with the non-descript blade is a real monster. He uses his non-threatening, beautiful experience to hide a black heart. Expect genjutsu and horrible medical tricks.> Anduris concurs.
Mist seems to be focused on armor, to Taklinn's eyes. Hack notices a drift away from their sword focus, using kama, kusari-gama, etc. Only one catches Kumo's eye: <The fag with the huge armor with all those fans... Watch out for him.>
Cloud's armaments seem to be focused on lightning control, but with strange effects. For example, one has a lightning rod that seems to be connected to some kind of geological device. Anduris feels two truly vile presences among the otherwise kind group here. Helvena and Kumo focus on the same two.
Snow, Grass, and Rain seem to have no one of note. There are talented people, but none at your power level.
Stars, the Hidden Village of the Land of Bears, has a small group of candidates. But one seems to be among the strongest of anyone here. Helvena and Kumo pick nothing up from him.
The Waterfall village has one similarly powerful applicant, obviously juiced up on the Hero Water, but with another twist...
There is one Independent ninja of note, who seems to be a traditional ninja type.
The Zengzi are fielding one applicant, a Goholo that seems to have been put through a rigorous training exercise to gain Vashau-like shadow powers, Zengzi-like combat skill, etc.
Anduris notes that the Mist, Sand, Leaf and Sound crop are more moral than expected. Stone seems to be a little more problematic, especially given the Jounin commanders' willingness to subject their pupils to prosthetics. Cloud is in general actually incredibly interesting, and good owing to a few Jounin team leaders. The Independents range, but none are exceptionally vile or good. The Zengzi are mercenary as always, but (again typical for the Zengzi) with a tongue-in-cheek and friendly attitude. Snow, Waterfall, Stars and Rain are incredibly competitive, which is taking a bit of a toll on their morals.
Kumo and Helvena focus on physical and chakra strength, respectively. Helvena comments, <One of the Leaf has a rare kekkei genkai. There's an underestimated boy among them too, but he is among the strongest here.>

Hack et al notice a fast moving, near-light-speed object. Hack and Kumo recognize it as a smoke bomb just before it detonates in front of the stage. Very few others in the audience even notice the bomb. For them, billowing clouds of smoke just erupt suddenly as if dropped from the sky by an angry god. The smoke is neutral, only designed to obfuscate visibility not to be noxious or choking. Suddenly, what was once an empty stage seems to be being filled very quickly...
OOG: What is Zelen doing? And now that you have acquired Keryis and Victoria, might you sub them in?

...No, I mean, with Zelen and Victoria added, what will your team setup look like? What will the third team be and who will they get for a commander?

oh okay, well can bones count for the third member, Zelen will take commander

Bones?

zelen's familiar, he'll be fighting separately

|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Feb 24, 2007 16:29:36 GMT -5
Hmmmmmm, I think Bones would be a Kuchiyose, so no.
Besides, I asked for your teams, and this is what they were: Hack, Taklinn, Anduris DI, Zelen, Zombie thing
Zelen was in this, but not Victoria or Keryis. So Victoria and Keryis need a teammate, and both need a new team leader. All the new liaisons apply.

keryis, victoria, hmm sarashito, though she'd be uncomfortable around keryis team leader, pick someone who vicky and sarashito would get along with

"you can take hits and give them back tenfold, besides driving past a blockade can be a useful distraction"Z
