Sohma steps back and shifts to the side to grab the guy's ankle and throw it up and throw him off balance, then resume defensive stance at a distance.

Having been on the defensive already buys Sohma that last split second he needed to avoid his opponents fierce attack. Shifting back and to the side Sohma grabs the ankle of his enemy and yanks him somewhat off balance. The guy's arms come back into himself sharply, his posture communicating that plans have changed.
After his foot touches back down again he rushes forward towards Sohma with his feet shuffle-step-gliding over the floor with an amazing swiftness. Soon as he gets within arms distance of Sohma the guy stops suddenly, planting his feet and swinging from the hips launching an obvious right hook aimed at Sohma's head!

Ok, so jerk my head back and spin behind him to wrap him under the armpit and around the opposite shoulder then furiously knee him in the ribs, and keep hitting him there until I hear something pop or he gives up, hopefully the latter happens before the prior.

Though he is not quite aware of it Sohma changes his rhythm for a brief instance. This change of rhythm throws his opponent off for a significant instance.
Halfway in he straightens his arm out and turns the fist into an open hand, cutting the travel time immensely. Sohma manages to move his head enough out of the way that he just takes a harsh graze to the nose. The brief instance of surprise happens now.
Slipping behind him Sohma wraps and knees the guy several times before his enemy's back begins to give way with vicious cracking sounds. In the middle of staging a counter attack in the form of a back kick the guy flinches and then shouts out in pain. "GHAAACK!"

"AH! ahh!...seems I am not above having more to learn...I submit" he replies. The last part being through gritted teeth. He trudges out of the ring with slow and rigid footsteps.
No sooner does he exit than does another guy enter. Short, broad and with black scruff all around the rim of his face. He flexes his large mash-up of muscles and then puts his hands out in front of himself, open halfway.
"Let's see you follow that up!" he growls.

Sohma takes his stance and waits for the new fighter to attack.

The guy sees Sohma is prepared to wait for him so he takes the intiative. Putting his hands on either side of his chest and tucking them in a little more he bullrushes Sohma palms facing forward. Each of his footsteps pounding against the floor like hooves of a stampeding buffalo.

Dodge to the side and use my newest technique on his head!

Sohma manages to time it right so the dodge succeeds and his enemy speeds past him. Just as his opponent is re-adjusting himself from his abrupt halt is when Sohma strikes. Leaping into the air for a turn-back kick to his enemy's head!
Weather or not Sohma planned on this he finds mid attack that this particular course of action takes great advantage of the fact that the guy is short. Considering Sohma did not have to push up very hard but instead forward all the harder his foot busts straight through a last minute attempt the guy makes to block with his hands.
His head rocks back as Sohma travels across him. Upon landing he can see his opponent is still up and looking surprisingly eager to continue. Were it not for the stream of blood running down his face from his most certainly broken nose one would think he was fine.
"Very nice" he says cracking his neck "I have not yet toughened my head. Ha ha ha ha!". He then hunkers down and rushes Sohma again.

'Ok, so that's the kind of fighter he is' Sohma thinks "This way Juggernaut!" Sohma shouts as he runs out from the circle towards a wall.

Sohma begins to make his move and his opponent is more than happy to follow him.
However despite his gung-ho nature Sohma can tell he is guarding himself a little more carefully than before. His arms aren't out as much and he reduces the speed of his charge while giving chase by maybe a third.

'Perfect' Sohma thinks, then gauges his speed to keep him just in front of his opponent and when he reaches a wall he uses what he learned of free running to run up the wall and flip off it landing, hopefully on his shoulders put behind him would work as well.

Sohma closes in on a nearby wall and begins to run up it utilizing what he has learned of free running so far. Unfortunately it does not quite prove sufficient as Sohma feels himself lose momentum and his feet start to slip about half-way up the wall.
As he begins to skid back down his enemy closes in, speeding back up to ram Sohma into the wall. Opponent right behind him Sohma has a brief instance in which he is still on the wall and in enough control of himself to pull some kind of quick reaction, salvage, or counter.

Well I'll cut my losses and go for a flying knee in the guy's head.

The switch from on the wall to leaping knee is a simple one for Sohma. Leaping off the wall and extending his knee as he has done so many times before he goes soaring for the guy's face. However his opponent has a plan this time.
Having already sped up the guy's chosen recourse is not to slow down or duck but leap upwards to present his chest as a target instead! As Sohma's knee collides with his chest he finds it is easy to tell why his opponent did this. It feels as if Sohma is kneeing a leather bag filled with gravel, there is shift and give but it is very hard to achieve.
"Ha ha ha ha! Even savage knees such as yours may be dulled eh?" the guy laughs. Being only half a foot apart Sohma's opponent reaches his arms around Sohma's back and begins to grab and crack his back. Sohma has reaction.

Free my arms since I can't get out of his grapple then elbows in his temples.

Due to the significant hieght difference between the two fighters Sohma is able to plant elbows into the guy's head and neck. The elbows fall just as Sohma feels his opponents grip tighten and crack his back!
The pain that shoots up and down Sohma's spine must resemble the pain that his attack dealt as the grip immediately loosens after. The man draws away from Sohma and stops two feet or so away. Hands back out in font.
"We won't last long like this. Better solve it now before one of us kills the other. Ha ha ha ha!" he laughs.

Sohma enters a more dramatic stance, lower to the ground than his traditional one "Very well. Come."

The guy puts four or five more feet of distance between Sohma and himself. He then spreads his feet wide apart and claps his hands once. Loudly and slowly he stomps the left foot. Then the right. This proverbial song and dance easily recognized as a practice in Sumo.
Putting his hands in front of him he charges once more, head and body lowered into an odd mixture of a football players tackle and the stereotypical sumo charge-in. It seems he is simply going to try and bowl Sohma over, relying on his being a small target area and thus hard to hit on his speedy approach.

Sohma lowers his stance even farther and waits for his target to get in range then uses his crouch to launch himself forward into a low to the ground flying knee attack aiming at the crown of the guy's head, or his face, what ever is more presented.

The guy charges in with his hands and Sohma launches with the lowest knee he throw.
Having his hands up the guy lifts his hands in front of his face crosses the hands and thrusts them out in front of him to try and stop the knee. Upon impact it occurs to Sohma that had he done the same thing but lower he might have been able to stop the attack by halting Sohmas core, his charge being mightier than the Sohmas.
BUT he tried to stop the knee. A small surface area with the rest of Sohma's bodies force behind it. Because of this Sohma is able to break right through his crossed hands and nail him in the face, knocking him over and out.
The crowd roars.

"Very nice" one of the seniors comments as Sohma leaves the ring to two ex judo club guys who have some sort of ax to grind. "That guy's a real braggart when it comes to his body hardening techniques, glad to see he's not nearly as hard everywhere else as he is in the head".

"Yeah. I hear he and his brothers spent some time training in a legit shaolin monastery. Learned some special body hardening techniques, I'd believe it considering some of the hits he took" he motions to Sohma's defeated opponent getting reoriented back outside the ring.
"Speaking of firm numbers how're things with you and that muscly chick?"

"I just hear she's pretty...feisty. Heard you and she might be together if that's true I gotta wonder how you did it that's all" the guy elaborates "kicks the ass of anyone who looks at her funny most of the time so it's not like all it takes are some smooth pick up lines..."
Finishing this last part he looks at Sohma imploringly. Sohma notices that several other guys are also intently listening.
