Ganba is busily hawking his wares at the team's Black Market. When he sees Derrick coming up, he mutters under his breath, "And trouble walks in..."

Laura, since she had a sort of techno-cancer as a child and grew up very poor, will join in. She's not really sure how to contribute though, but if they need some sort of defense, she's willing to act like security. If there's any local problems, like a loose demon or something, she'll go take care of it. If she can help in other ways though, she'd love to be of assistance. Most likely she'll drag Hel along.

At the moment we are attempting to garner funds and a nice backup supply of funds for a non profit childrens hospitol....dealing with rare diseases...and gifted children, like a mix between xaviers school and a hospitol for children in need...all for free, so its gonna take a lot to keep it running

Ganba lets out a sigh. "Thank the Lord of the Seas that that's what you need. Come into my office." The large red-purple fish man with a golden crest walks into a wall... and walks through it suddenly. As Derrick follows [assuming he follows], Derrick sees a meticulously organized office that seems almost empty. He grumbles. "Not very hard to organize with this little stuff. So: Let me tabulate... Ah, e-mail from Thrash on this topic with more data... Okay, so it would be built on Crashing Heavens land, that'll save us..." Ganba uses an abacus with incredible speed and produces a form in triplicate using a feather quill pen. There is a pregnant silence, a moment in which Derrick experiences every moment of Ganba's calculation. Ganba's pack rat and OCD tendencies seem to pay off in his incredible eye for every detail: His ability to estimate expected contributions based on psychohistoric sciences of gratitude and how that may lead to donations, his precision in balancing numerous factors... "This is what I have."
The report breaks down as follows:
Units are in gildens. Everything but "upkeep cost" is a breakdown of startup costs and not upkeep costs.
Location: Parcel - 0 [Owned Asset; make note for accounting] Building - 10,000
Medical Operations: Medical Equipment - 10,000,000 Pharmaceuticals - 5,000,000 Physical Training Center - 2,500,000 Optometry - 250,000 (5 optometrists, staff and other expenditures) Podiatry - 250,000 (5 podiatrists, staff and other expenditures) Oncology - 1,000,000 (20 oncologists, staff and other expenditures) Epidemiology - 50,000 (1 as above) Audiology - 50,000 (1 as above) Anesthesiology - 250,000 (5 as above) Psychology - 1,000,000 (20 as above) Physical Medicine - 250,000 (5 as above) Neurology - 250,000 (5 as above) Radiology - 250,000 (5 as above) Pharmacist - 250,000 (5 as above) Plastic Surgery - 250,000 (5 as above) Ear, Nose and Throat - 250,000 (5 as above) Geneticists - 25,000 (10 as above) General Practitioners - 2,5000,000 (50 as above) Pediatricians - 5,000,000 (100 as above) Interns - 10,000,000 (200 as above) Nurses - 2,000,000 (300 as above) Diagnosticians - 10,000 [due to Yayoi] Other Specialziations - 12,500,000 (250 as above) Initial Investment - 10,000,000,000

Estimated Initial Cost: 10,046,745,000 Estimated Continuing Profit: 735,000,000
* * *
Ganba whistles. "Yeah, some NORMAL hospitals cost a million bucks to run. Now, bear in mind 1 gilden is a hundred dollars by normal currency exchange rates. So yeah, that'll cost the equivalent of a trillion dollars. Nasty. However, those patent possibilities are pretty nice. It is a non-profit, but the notion that we could pay back debts at the rate of, oh, say 500 million a year is pretty appealing. Want me to look into moving some assets around? Making some deals?"

Does the CH have any pacifistic organizations on file that are religiously inclined to help the needy?

Hundreds. Problem is that few of them have any funds they can spare on their own.

How about the Vatican?
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 9, 2006 16:40:13 GMT -5
Hmmmm, the Vatican does indeed (depending on the dimension in question) have some funds due to their tithing of believers and some provision of vital services. The team does have some way with the Vatican as well, but they have a reputation to tend to want their services to be religious. At the least, they'd demand the installation of a chapel with an on-site priest and faith healer.

How about infiltrating the Vatican, possessing the Pope, and have him make the Vatican a gigantic children's hospital...

Yeah, I figured. Mace take out some B-Class demon organizations, or some other greedy species' group, and use the money?
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Dec 14, 2006 21:18:35 GMT -5
That can indeed work, but generally it's nice to return stolen money to its owners if it's at all possible. Still, usually you can make some money per score.

Post by Mace Parshath on Dec 16, 2006 20:38:28 GMT -5
Well, I meant small little thorns in the sides of the CH, ones that -need- to be taken out, but no one really has bothered yet.
EDIT: Also, Mace can look around for some crystal and metal deposits to craft into sellable items for cash, or make contracts with businesses that are interested in such things and tell them the deposit locations if they make a contract to give thirty percent of the profit to the hospital, or even towards the funds to help rebuild Hope City.

If you mean B-Class as in the Yu Yu Hakusho ranking system, that's a colossal waste of your time. You're at S+++++ or something. But there are some demons you could make 10,000-150,000 a score on from the Ranger bounty alone. There are a band of eight demon brothers who have been uniquely bad. You could also always go the demon overlord route.
EDIT: Sure, I extrapolate a certain amount of automatic money growth for you guys based on auctions, etc. That's already been accounted into your communal amounts, as well as your individual moneys. If you want to look for a PARTICULAR deposit, sure.

What's the demon overlord route? And what are some rumours we have to work with for the demon brothers? And I could always send Higgins out to kick those B-Class demons into the ground. : P

Beat up demon overlords and their armies, raid their castles, fun stuff.
The demon brothers were last seen together in the Grand Line.
Higgins AND John of Alarkand.

Mace will order Higgins and John to go after the B-Class demons roaming the area. And where was were the demons spotted on the Grand Line? Laura can go to her old SWAT team to get some demon-tracking equipment.

Which area? Sorry, John wasn't yours, you had the Templar (still useful). The demons were spotted near Jaya [FN: Info 151]. I thought she was the only demon hunter on her team and was fairly much considered a wacko... Ah, so she's using a charity for selfish causes! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) And how will she help?

|
|
Post by sithofmacabre on Jan 20, 2007 1:59:54 GMT -5
Not entirely sure, perhaps she will both give some money and whatever they would need her for--she's not picky. Although she would rather help in fields that don't require her fighting.
...
Like landscaping XD Or interior design! Making the hospital the most comfortable place for children (not to mention herself)?
