Well, actually a person to the Town, hence the lack of the new team member and rename screens. But hey. Very nice.
The wyvern flies over the north of Hael. You continue to pass over a long mountain pass. Off in the distance, you see a massive, somewhat foreboding peak. It seems almost like the finger of a long-gone god sticking out of the landscape. However, it seems natural if harsh. That is not the case with the growing cloud of smoke, smog, and airplanes to the south. That continues to grow as the wyvern takes them close to then around Xenosia. They see a massive siege on a smallish city around a large, majestic library structure. Finally, the wyvern drops them off at the port city of Gongamnos.

OOG: I should note that you're here maybe a day or two after your other party got here.
There was that cave to go into the Xenosian territory. Still wish to ask what's going on?

That would be meta gaming fred. But if you want to skip that part then yes I will head for the cave. If not then ask around town about them and ask what has been going on around town as of late.

Actually, you were TOLD by Hint Guy.
Apparently, some adventurers passing through dealt with some people trying to Shanghai potential XLF clients. They also opened up ancient sewers under the city. Reports of giant animals abound. And, of course, there's the news from abroad: Massive spectral disturbance in Florida, for example. But most of the conversation is about how the Xenosian war is going to impact things. Some profit from the war, some aren't affected, but for most war is bad for business. Gongamnos is a free port, and the increasing consensus is that there will need to be a stand taken. The city's merchant council, though, still has yet to formally alter relations with Xenosia, let alone declare war. Byblos' defenses are falling...

Gongamnos' street food is delicious. You manage to find something like a pita filled with a bean paste that is meatier and thicker than hummus, a sweet paste that is somewhat like guacamole, and freshly spiced orange beef, some fried food, and a delicious airy dessert. The drink is a foamy creamy concoction that tastes something like a mix between a cream seltzer and a Thai coconut drink.
The traffic going to neighboring countries, people trying desperately to hide being guerillas trying to help Aertrya, refugees in and out, and so forth makes you a sea of people until several miles out from even the barest part of the city limits. But you start getting to the swampy reed and forest areas, north of the desert. Suddenly, you smell incoming monstrous trolls.
