after a day of waiting, and still nobody comming down, you greatly suspect something terrible has happened, suddenly a sizable smash and crunch sounded from upstairs, now the horrid smell of blood reaches your nose/smelling organ
you are quite far down below the ground... when you both were taken here you traveled about three flights of stairs to the bottom
you realize the sudden bust of stench is because someone has busted open the door with the huge smash the door upstairs, and you hear vicious growling coming from above and a grueling scream and gag and gurgle of the guard upstairs as he's attacked by the unknown fiends. you then hear a THUD THUD clap THUD THUD *snap* *crackle* of what you think are the guards bones.
there is an iron door the opposite side of the stairs in the cell block you two are in, you guess it is very thick, it has many locks and latches on it as well.

Ohblorx knows that if he holds onto something long enough, that he will break it with acid. He looks for anything, a bench or chamberpot, he can use to work with Krallax to beat the cell open, while yelling warning to any other prisoners in the area.

Ohblorx, the bars are very old, you burn through them with little difficulty,
as you yell, there is a sudden silence up top, then a loud howl and a thu-thud tud thu thu of the beast comming down the stairs, a horrified scream of a prisoner on the first basement followed by the crashing and creaking of the metal bars being torn away and a crash... thats all you hear, then followed by the familiar crunching and gnashing of bones, but this time, closer.
Krallack could probably just bust through the bars, but the noise might alert the beast two storys above
Ohblorx, you find no other obstructions in the hallway as you free yourself and set the scorched bar(s) on the ground

Are there any other prisoners in our section of the wing?

|
Post by DUNCE on Jun 8, 2006 21:23:58 GMT -5
yes, a man, about in his thirties, but looks like he's been there for a ver long time, his eyes do not judge you like others do

Ohblorx will quickly get about to freeing him, saying, "Can you fight?"
|
|
|
Post by DUNCE on Jun 8, 2006 22:46:23 GMT -5
the man nods yes and says in a voice that has been long since used "but i'm not sure of my use"
you then realize that the iron door at the end of the hall is unlocked and opens inward
Ohblorx burns through the cell bars of the mans cell and you gently set the bar on the ground, the man staggers out

Ohblorx looks around for any items that may be of use (Spot check: 22).

well, you do have two of the cell bars that you just burnt off, they both seem to be roughly about 1 1/2 feet long and decently sturdy, the man had a metal bucket in his cell, though, he used it as a make-shift toilet, you may be able to burn off a few more poles if you need to, there is also a wooden board used to cover the iron door that could be of use, in a few other cells there are bodies, they have ragged clothes on

Check the ragged clothes and see if the bodies have any life for them, making sure he has enough bars and a backup weapon plus a weapon for his older ally (he'll make one that's a little shorter than a quarterstaff, one edge jagged the other blunt).

the bodies are dead, while you were searching yo find a light blue gem.
now Ohblorx, you have 4 bars, three 2 1/2 feet long and one just as you specified, it is 1d6 poleaxe *1.5 causes tetnis on full critical
and i need you both to do a listen check for me

OOG: wow, whats with you and the sweet rolls?
you hear another beast scrape its sides against the inside of the doorway loudly as if forces its bulk inward, because of the kcikazz roll, you also hear a whistle of air coming out of the iron door, faint, but noticable on a 20
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 9, 2006 22:06:58 GMT -5
Ohblorx finds the whistle and sees if it suggests a structural weakness to open the door.

uppon further inspection you find that... the door is unlocked
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 10, 2006 12:50:57 GMT -5
Ohblorx opens the door quickly and call out, "Let us leave through it!" He prepares to fight whatever's on the opposite side if there is anything.
(To be clear: This door is different from the monster sounds, right?)

yea its DOOR--Ohblorx-empty cell---man--Krallack-----------stairs
that pretty much the layout
the beasts upstairs hears you, the closest one howls loudly and you hear many howls from the outside, and a rumble of a stampede of hunger on its way
the closest monstrosity barges down to the flight below it, right above you

|
|

Ohblorx quickly rushes to wherever the door may lead. He is against fighting for no good reason, and anyways doesn't know if he, Krallax and this man can beat the incoming beast.

all three of you rush into the dark room, completely black, closing the door behind you
just as you close it you hear a very large WHOOMP! on the other side, and the door juts in a little bit, you hear clawing and vicious growling, the door wont hold for more than two turns it seems

Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 10, 2006 21:18:11 GMT -5
Ohblorx prepares a position to use the narrow hallway against this beast while running as fast as he can with the other two. 15 total to keep balance in the dark. (Don't forget my natural darkvision: Can I get a PM as to what I see?)

|
|
Post by DUNCE on Jun 10, 2006 22:18:45 GMT -5
you see just a hallway, it seems to be 10 feet wide and there is a left turn about 20 feet away, as your running the man seems to trip and dthe ceiling begins to crumble, the man rolls as he falls and the cieling crumbles, right before he is out of the way of damage

Is the ceiling completely blocking our path? And is there any kind of ramp upward or does it seem we could make one?
|
|
|
Post by DUNCE on Jun 11, 2006 21:54:40 GMT -5
its not blocking your path, it caved in right behind you as your running from the beasts

Then Ohblorx makes sure his two companions are healthy and provides them the data about their surroundings, describing things.

it seems this was once used as a mining facility, but since then its been expanded by long since extinct ants
as you enter you see 4 guards body lying on the ground one has a sword (Krallack's... well, a clone of Krallack's)
|
|
|
Post by Frederic Bourgault-Christie on Jun 12, 2006 13:30:49 GMT -5
Ohblorx searches the bodies (Search check: 15) and grabs the sword for Krallax, telling Krallax what he found and handing the blade by the handle blade pointing to Ohblorx.

Ohblorx, you find a lightly glowing blue gem on the body, not glowing enough to see, but still glowing
as you continue, down the ten foot wide hallway, you come accross a left, you take it, as you continue, there is a hollow to the right
OOG: now i need a spot check--vincent hack hasn't been on in quite awhile :-\
